In The Metrosprawl

Sometimes you have to leave the rural haven of bucolic old Texas and venture forth into the metrosprawl, the DFW connurb. And that's what I did, climbed into the rig and headed for Dallas. Why? To sort out a hernia issue with the medicos.

First step, pull into Ma LSP's place, which was fun, as always. Well done, parental LSPs for buying into the 'sprawl where you did, when you did. Result.

The next day was all about an "initial consultation." The surgeon, a very pleasant chap, asked me, "So, mission priest, what's your day job?" I looked the medical sacerdos straight in the eye and said, "That's it, and I edit a magazine, no money you see." He sized this up, "Right, self-pay." Exactly.

The next day I drove down Central Distressway to Northstar Diagnostic for a CT scan. Northstar's in a medical complex/hospital which looks like a boutique hotel, though far more pricey and much less fun. That done?

Drive to the beautifully named Lovers Lane for bloodwork. You see, all this must be accomplished before scalpel meets femoral hernia. Thanks, horse. But whatever, you do what you gotta do, and it was neat to motor tour around Dallas.

Iconic

In other news, the eldest returns from Eastern Europe tomorrow, mission accomplished, and I'll get him at the airport. Surprised by that, you'd think they'd fly the troops back to Ft. Hood directly.

Cheers,

Platinum Jubilee

HRH Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 70 years of anointed monarchy this weekend and the celebration's begun, with Trooping of the Colour, an 82 gun salute by the HAC, a fly over the Mall and the Palace including a Lancaster bomber and more besides.

Simpering D List celeb Meghan Merkle wasn't on the balcony, neither was Beta Harry or  Prince Epstein Andrew. Andy had "Covid," apparently, but Kate was there looking good. Here she is in a carriage, next to some other thing.

Congratulations, your Majesty. Ad multos annos.

The Unicorn Brigade

Oleksandr Zhuhan and Antonina Romanova were worried, would they be allowed back onto the front line of the Ukrainian Ost Front after a sex change and gay marriage? "I was really worried," said Antonina, formerly Anthoney, "But everyone was really kind, they recognize our pronouns."

Zhuhan, who identifies as a Cossack male and Antonina, who identifies as a Rimsky Korsakof ballerina have joined the Ukrainian Unicorn Legion, the world's first LGBTQ+1 fighting unit. "You just can't make this sh*t up," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The US wasn't far to follow, with the US Marine Corps broadcasting its support of the gay trans movement in the form of a faggy rainbow bullet recruitment poster. "The gayer we get the more lethal we become," said Sergeant First Class Glitter Fairy to Military Times.

But Russians weren't convinced, "I am not sure," said Hero Commander of Russia Alexandr Shoigu, "if to die laughing. Maybe it is globohomo joke."

Brazen Transfer

Do you remember our rulers giving Zelensky's Ukraine >40 BN? Sure you do, bipartisan effort. GWB comments:

Don’t be surprised if that $40 billion we’re sending him ends up in the pockets of his pals."

Not a penny will leave the Beltway. You see, help for Ukraine has to be built first — here.

Ever wondered why there was such bipartisan support for the measure to the tune of appropriating even more than asked for? A brazen wealth transfer. It’s not Zelensky’s pals who are lining their pockets. In the US, interest in the war will start fading. The goods have been delivered.

It’s monkey pox time!

Don't forget pride month, GWB!

Lexicon

The Big Guy

Let's face it, today's fast moving political spectrum's not easy to understand, so here's a short list of definitions by way of a guide. Via Azmilitary1:

A gerontocracy is a form of oligarchical rule in which an entity is ruled by leaders who are significantly older than most of the adult population.

A kakistocracy is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.

Kakistocrat

Kleptocracy is a government whose corrupt leaders (kleptocrats) use political power to appropriate the wealth of the people and land they govern.

Baroness Gerontocrat of Kleptocristan is only worth >58M

Corporatocracy  is a term used to refer to an economic, political and judicial system controlled by corporations or corporate interests.

Some Wicked Old Crook

Nepotism is a form of favoritism which is granted to relatives and friends in various fields, including business, politics, entertainment etc.

THE BEAST

Cronyism is the practice of partiality in awarding jobs and other advantages to friends or trusted colleagues, especially in politics

Favouritism is the practice of giving unfair preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another.

Here at the Compound we hope you weren't shocked into an early grave by the infographics find this simple lexicon helpful. In related news, Sussman walks.

Memorial Day

The flags are out in force in this small country town as people get ready to have fun with family and friends around the grill. Quite right too, and I'll be firing up the Compound's Weber in short order, but as we behold delicious burgers, toothsome brisket and juicy steaks (what, you can afford that?!? Ed.) remember those who gave and give their lives for our freedom and country.

Via Zerohedge:

But today is Memorial Day, 2022, when we mourn the fallen of the United States Armed Forces who died for our liberty.

And because it is Memorial Day, not burger and beer day, not sports day, not play video games day, not chips and dip day, there is one tradition I hope we try our best to keep.

It involves us taking time out to think hard and long about a soldier’s poem and the poppies, row on row.

“In Flanders Fields” is that soldier’s poem, written in World War I by Col. John McCrae, a man who’d seen the devastation of war, and hopelessness. Yet with clear eyes and a clean heart he wrote of poppy blossoms as rebirth of hope, those bright orange/red papery thin blossoms, as delicate as dreams, waving in the breeze over the freshly dug graves of the dead.

Imagine We Win

Just look at all these Defense Ministers! No fooling, these are the people nominally entrusted with managing the Armed Forces of Europe. Behold their feminine prowress, and how large and effective do you think the armies these women control are? Hint. Tiny. Pardon GeoStrat genius but without the US they're exactly nothing.

Feel free to disagree and you'll note that the mighty strength of UKLF isn't represented above. OK, the Sceptred Isle doesn't have more than a motor pool of 1st Cav in their armored, snerk, division but still, they're fierce. The UK's military, I think, hasn't been completely turned over to tranny lesbyterianism.

That in mind, imagine our proxy Ukraine winning the war against Russia. Triumphant rainbow flags in Red Square, Pussy Riot playing accompaniment. No more prayer in schools, the army or prisons, oh no that's illegal, free sex-changes for one and all and, guess what, you all have to wear masks because Science. And on.

Picture them, rainbow marching through the Kremlin as Putin and Kadyov are beheaded. That's what we're fighting for, our way of life. Freedom to have a government subsidized sex-change. Think about that and while you're at it on Pharma profits, follow the money.

I don't know about you but I get the feeling Putin's going to resist such a fate. I think the last Christian country in Europe is going to fight against the Rainbow tooth and nail. Well, they're getting there(ish) right about now.

A Very Short Sunday Sermon

Christ prays, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." There it is. As the Father lives in the Son and the Son in the Father in a perfect donation of self, in an act of love which is the Holy Spirit, so too may the followers of Christ live in God and He in them.

On the strength of this Our Savior continues, "Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am..." Where I am. We know where this is, in heaven, we celebrated the Feast of the Ascension on Thursday, and so in the strength of our union with Christ we pray:

O God, the King of glory, who hast exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven: We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless, but send to us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Savior Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Exalt us unto the same place whither our Savior Christ is gone before. Yes indeed and in the affirmation ask, was Christ's prayer answered? Yes, it was.

God bless you all,

Patriotism

Rightly moved by small town Itasca's war memorial, Wild  commented:

I once heard Chris Matthews pontificating on his tee-vee show trying to explain the xenophobia of the red state hick by saying the little guy loves his country because that's all he's got. Meaning, the more enlightened portion of the populace would not be such fools... Not only did he miss the point, he put his Oldsmobile in reverse and drove off the bridge a second time.

he put his Oldsmobile in reverse and drove off the bridge. Dam straight. Patriotism, true love of Patria, begins at home, not with abstract bi-coastal Harvard inspired imagination but with love of where you actually are, the one you're with, your family, village, town, city and on. Chesterton expounds:

Let us suppose we are confronted with a desperate thing, say Pimlico. If we think what is really best for Pimlico we shall find the thread of thought leads to the throne or the mystic and the arbitrary. It is not enough for a man to disapprove of Pimlico: in that case he will merely cut his throat or move to Chelsea. Nor, certainly, is it enough for a man to approve of Pimlico: for then it will remain Pimlico, which would be awful.

The only way out of it seems to be for somebody to love Pimlico: to love it with a transcendental tie and without any earthly reason. If there arose a man who loved Pimlico, then Pimlico would rise into ivory towers and golden pinnacles; Pimlico would attire herself as a woman does when she is loved. For decoration is not given to hide horrible things: but to decorate things already adorable. A mother does not give her child a blue bow because he is so ugly without it. A lover does not give a girl a necklace to hide her neck. If men loved Pimlico as mothers love children, arbitrarily, because it is theirs, Pimlico in a year or two might be fairer than Florence.

Some readers will say that this is a mere fantasy. I answer that this is the actual history of mankind. This, as a fact, is how cities did grow great. Go back to the darkest roots of civilization and you will find them knotted round some sacred stone or encircling some sacred well. People first paid honour to a spot and afterwards gained glory for it. Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her.

GKC and Wild, I'd argue, are right in the X Ring.

Your Patriotic Pal,

The Shooter

All the world knows that a killer teen shot up an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. What a hideous, heartbreaking massacre of the innocents. Everyone knows this.

What they don't know, because our honest, objective, truth seeking, humble, public spirited media haven't reported it, is that the killer was a tranny. That's right, the murderous teen was a gender dysphoric cross dresser. Have a look.

You can imagine the lyrics, "The killer awoke before dawn and put zhir skirt on." Like no fooling, with deadly result. Long story short, this isn't a gun problem, it's a mental health problem and a sickness that's being pushed at every level on our young people in the name of "freedom" and so-called compassion.

Free to be what? A blasphemous parody of a man or a woman, doomed to a lifetime of surgery and Big Pharma infusion. Curse on those Satans who gild their private jets on the backs of our children. They will have their reward.

In the meanwhile, according to the repellent Forbes magazine, over 50% of trannies contemplated suicide in 2020. The pathetic, spurious and misguided Forbes thinks this is because the trannies were rejected as opposed to having a serious mind problem. Let's cut to the chase.

We have a mental health issue, not a gun issue. There was a time, not that long ago, when kids would bring firearms to school and there weren't mass psycho killings. Now there are. What's changed? Here's a closing infographic.

Small Town Texas

Welcome to the new normal in the rural idyll that is North Central Texas. But all's not lost, you can still buy regular for $4.39 a gallon, for now.

And drive to Itasca.

Which was prosperous until we declared war on ourselves.

Then it wasn't. Still, there's some bright spots like Karen's, home of famously good bean/brisket burritos, and the Olde Towne Country Store, run by Mennonites(?).

They sell all kinds of locally produced food, spices and much more besides. Their sandwich/deli's not bad either, pretty much a local lunch hangout.

Then there's the war memorial. What a terrible loss of life from such a small town.

Business taken care of I drove back to the Compound and that, all three of you readers, is the story of that.

God bless,

Surrender

I'll just let this repost stand as it is except to say that when I was a very junior LSP I asked a WWII vet "what was it like" when they surrendered. We were in a Morris Minor on the way to Oxford where he taught and I possibly pre-school learned. He replied, "They were incredibly disciplined, even in defeat." That's stuck with me over some 50 years.

Again, a babysitter from Germany in Texas (!) 1972, who had been in Berlin around the end. "What was it like?" She replied, "The Fuhrer would speak to us in the underground from speakers, 'Fight! We will win!'" Maybe it was Goebbels instead of the Fuhrer, and we know how his family ended. Again, an old, hoary and civilized diplomat, "I heard Hitler many times and never thought him anything other than absurd."

Make of this what you will, and if you want something uplifting check out Love The One You're With by the unwashed CSNY.

Ascension

Today's the great forgotten Feast of the Ascension, the closing act in the drama of salvation. Here's Austin Farrer via Anglican Way:

WE are told in an Old Testament tale, how an angel of God having appeared to man disappeared again by going up in the flame from the altar.  And in the same way Elijah, when he could no more be found, was believed to have gone up on the crests of flaming horses.  The flame which carried Christ to heaven was the flame of his own sacrifice.  Flame tends always upwards.  All his life long Christ’s love burnt towards the heart of heaven in a bright fire, until he was wholly consumed in it, and went up in that fire to God.  The fire is kindled on our altars, here Christ ascends in fire; the fire is kindled in the Christian heart, and we ascend.  He says to us, Lift up your hearts; and we reply, We lift them up unto the Lord.

The fire is kindled on our altars, here Christ ascends in fire; the fire is kindled in the Christian heart, and we ascend.  He says to us, Lift up your hearts; and we reply, We lift them up unto the Lord. I can't add to that.

Well Lookit This!

Yes, you see that right, the Ukrainian colors have been added to the Trans Pride flag. All those Ukrainians are fighting and dying for Joe Biden's "greatest civil rights issue of our time," trans rights. Because, you know, getting a sex change is a really important civil liberty thing.

A Typical Black Sun. Note runes

You'll note the original Rainbow Banner of Gayness is shrinking under an aggressive assault by forward moving chevrons and we have to ask, what will be left of the Rainbow Banner's  fruity cheery colors as the West lurches into stainless steel, liberal Fascism. Intuition says stay tuned for the caring, tolerant, laughing face of Sonnenrad. But don't worry, in the meanwhile we have NATO, i.e. the US:

The U.S. Army is reportedly proposing a new policy that would allow soldiers to request a move to a new base if they believe they face discrimination from local or state laws on the basis of gender, sex, religion, race or pregnancy.

The move would change an existing policy that allows personnel to seek a move to help them cope with family problems.

In effect, it would allow soldiers to declare certain states to be too racist or homophobic for them to live there.

What?

How very beautiful. I say again, and again, are we gambling on never, ever, ever having to fight another major war? Serious question.

Sainte Jeanne d'Arc — Cantate à l'Étendard

Was Joan a witch or a hero saint? I'm inclined towards the latter, though wiser minds than mine question the visions. Regardless, Cantate a l'Etendard.

God's Pronouns

I always thought they were He/His. Oh well, now we know. And here's some social media back up from the inclusively shrinking ACOC (Anglican Church of Canada).

The excellent Anglican Samizdat exclaims, "Antediluvian throwbacks like me who have always thought of the Holy Spirit as 'He' had no idea that the third person of the Trinity had undergone a gender transition." Yes indeed, but will there be a special baptismal rite for the pneumatic sex-change? Perhaps in England.

In related news, have you noticed how the aggressive chevrons on the LGTBQ++ flag are eating up the original rainbow? Like some kind of... takeover.

In the meanwhile, the same people who gaily fly this flag are championing all out war with ORCFORCE. Vicious rumors that trans refugees attempting to flee the Ukraine have been turned around and sent to Ost Front are entirely that, vicious rumors.

Automata

Automata, robots if you like, mechanical devices that move under their own power. Aristotle the Philosopher described them thus, “A kind of puppet with the ability to move by itself.” And of course such things were no stranger to the ancient world.

Hero of Alexandria, Ctesibus and others produced automata, mechanical wonders to amuse and amaze. These were, apparently, employed for the advancement of theater and liturgy, amphitheater and temple, and not deployed industrially. They had slaves for that. And so to today.

A kind of puppet with the ability to move by itself. Extant? Here, have a look.

Who runs it? Good question, who's behind all those water clocks, differential gears and plastiskin. And yes, the tech's obviously not quite right. Perhaps that's why 81 million voted for this apparent human, even though they didn't.

EXCOMMUNICATED AT LAST

Our millionaire leftist octogenarian Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has been excommunicated by the Archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore J. Cordileone. This means the incredibly wealthy socialist abortionist and plastic surgery case study is no longer welcome at the Altar rail.

Here's Cordileone in a pastoral letter to the Archdiocese:

"After numerous attempts to speak with her to help her understand the grave evil she is perpetrating, the scandal she is causing, and the danger to her own soul she is risking, I have determined that the point has come in which I must make a public declaration that she is not to be admitted to Holy Communion unless and until she publicly repudiate her support for abortion 'rights' and confess and receive absolution for her cooperation in this evil in the sacrament of Penance."

Baltimore Mafia Pelosi has spat in the face of God and His Mystical Body the Church for longer than some readers of this low-ebb mind blog have been alive. That the Church has taken so long to discipline this creature from the Pit is itself a scandal.

Behold The Dementor

Why, we the faithful ask, did it take until May 2022 to deny this plastic surgeoned satan the Sacrament? I'd suggest ca$h, but that's just me. Well done, ++Cordileone, you bit the bullet and perhaps late timing fits into Providence itself.
