Whenever that lyric came up, I reached for the volume knob, even if just a little turn. I didn't realize I had formed this habit until (about 30 years ago) my college son's buddies took notice of it. (Perceptive young men, aren't they?). Naturally, it then became an obligation. The last time Ronnie Van Zant sang that lyric without me taking action on it was probably about 1980. Thinking back, I'm not sure if this is something to be proud of, or ashamed of. Deo Vindice.

Yes, Anon.
Sorry, Anon, that was meant for JohnN. But still, yes, and DV.
I think it's an issue, 1chota.
Tried and true, Mr NFO.
Exactly, LL, and what a good vision it was. Can we reclaim it? Don't know. We're a young country so maybe that helps.
