Clubland Forever

An old friend asked me over drinks at the Club, "I say, are you a, a... a Putinist?" and I looked him straight in the eye and asked, "Do you think whipping P. Riot was a good thing and that a flat 13% tax is a bad thing, to say nothing of supporting the Church? Perhaps you're on the risible side of Jarvis Cocker and the rest of the Trans Rainbow GloboHomo collective."

Damme, Guinea on the Monkey and Twice as Fast

My friend, who learns Sanskrit by way of hobby, replied, "Maybe you need to grow up, so-called 'LSP.'" I looked at him, silhouetted by Midlothian axes and life-sized marble statues of Gladstone, "My dear fellow, I'm afraid that boat's already sailed."

Clubland forever,

Trinity - Augustine

Everyone knows Sunday's the Feast of the Trinity, that central doctrine of the Faith which describes the inner nature of God as He has revealed Himself. One nature, divine, three persons, distinct, and unless you believe this you're in big trouble, says the Athanasian Creed. This, NB Anglicans, has been shunted to the back of our latter day Prayer Books where presumably it'll cause less offense by virtue of being well hidden. Here's the intro:

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic faith. Which faith unless every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the Catholic faith is this: that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Essence.

So, there's most definitely a three line whip on orthodox Trinitarian doctrine. That said, can we make any sense of it? St. Augustine most certainly endeavored to do so in his magisterial De Trinitate, read it if you can and I found this short commentary helpful. An excerpt:

The Father, Son and Spirit are distinct, and yet they are a unity in the equality of the one substance. Any inferiority of the Son refers to his human nature or to the Trinitarian order whereby he has received his equal being from the Father. “The Father is God, the Son God, the Holy Spirit God…yet there are not three Gods – but one God – the Trinity Itself” . . . “so total is the equality of this triad that not only is the Father not greater than the Son as far as divinity is concerned, but also Father and Son together are not greater the Holy Spirit, nor any single person of the Three is less than the trinity Itself” (8.1).

Still, within this equality there are distinctions between the Persons. The Father is distinguished as Father because He begets the Son, and the Son is distinguished as Son because He is begotten. The Spirit, similarly, is distinguished from Father and Son inasmuch as He is ‘bestowed’ by them; He is their ‘common gift’, being a kind of communion of Father and Son.

The distinctions between the three persons are grounded in their mutual relations within the Godhead. Augustine resorts to the category of “distinctions based on relations” even though this may seem contrary to the doctrine that God as simple and as such cannot be differentiated from his attributes. The reason for this assertion is to escape a cunning dilemma posed by Arian critics. They argued that the distinctions within the Godhead, assuming they exist must be categorized as either substance or accidents. Everyone agrees that God has no accidents. On the other hand, to view the distinctions as substance would result in three independent substances in the Godhead.

Augustine rejects the dilemma. He suggests that the terms Father, Son and Holy Spirit denote not difference in substance between the Persons but eternal and unchangeable relations between them within the one substance. That is to say, what differentiates the Three Persons in the Trinity is the specific form of relations. The persons retain substantial equality.

The relationships do not simply distinguish the Persons from each other – they are the persons. In technical language, they are subsistent relationships. Accidents in ordinary things like qualities or quantities can change. For example, the quantity of stuff in a man can change without him ceasing to be a man. But in the case of the divine, relationships are actually substantive predications since they are identical with divine nature or substance. But a relationship requires real distinctions between two referents at the poles of the relationship. The Father is distinct from the Son. Neither is distinct from God; and they are each distinct from the Holy Spirit, not as Father and Son, but as ‘from whom he proceeds’.

Edmund Hill elaborates, “Therefore [the Father] is not only Father, he is the fatherhood (the relationship) by which he is Father. So too the Son is the sonship by which he is Son. And the Holy Spirit. . . the relationship of being Gift, the relationship of ‘givenness’ if you like.

Now, per the above, what do "subsistent relationships" in the life of the Trinity teach us? To put it another way, if distinct personhood, real personhood has been revealed to us as relationship, what does that mean for us who have been created in the image of God? Read Augustine's triads, obviously, but perhaps we get a glimpse of the truth when we reflect on how dismally we behave when self-obsessed, and how much better when the opposite applies.

In other words, we become ourselves when we forget ourselves in relationship. The last shall be first, and all of that.

Just look at Victoria Nuland and tell me I'm wrong. By the monkey, I dare you.

Happy New Year!

Well done, we made it to 2024, no small feat, and local friendlies celebrated the fact with whoops and fireworks which bombed across the firmament like the guns of Kursk. There was traditional gunfire too, off on the edge of town by the sound of it, maybe a pistol or two. All very exciting, and I joined in the fun by setting off a few strips of firecrackers, drawing a big round of Mexican applause.

Fun. Then it was time to head to bed and another installment of Iain Pears' excellent Arcadia, check it out. Today? A brisk walk with an excited dog to the Pick 'n Steal via the Olde Meth Shacke, which is being refurbed by Pedro and his crew.

Wymmxn Priestesses

Gone are the days of ne'er do wells lolling shirtless and witless in their ragged pajama bottoms, behold instead the new advent of hard at work artisans from south of the border doing their thing. Good for them, though I miss the spectacle of meth shackery, being a creature of tradition.

A Typical Fighting Monkey

Now, safely back at the Compound, we reflect on the coming year, what will it bring? Good question, and I'm not a betting man but I'll wager my fighting monkey against any ten of your wymmxn priestesses, yes, ten, that 2024 will be even crazier than bad old '23.

Cheers,

War Money And America's Future

Col. Douglas MacGregor writes in The American Conservative:

When Richard Nixon lost the election to John F. Kennedy, Nixon told supporters, “I know Jack Kennedy. He’s a patriot.” Nixon knew that the nation would be safe in President Kennedy’s hands.

Most Americans do not have the same confidence in President Biden. In April 2023, fewer than four in ten U.S. adults (37 percent) said they approved of Joe Biden’s job performance as president, with six in ten saying they disapproved. By a 2-to-1 margin, American voters now believe controlling the U.S. border is more important than helping Ukraine fight Russia. For the first time in 30 years, the U.S. Government’s interest payments on the sovereign debt equal defense spending.

These revelations would shake the confidence of any White House, but there is much more for Washington and its NATO Allies to consider. Alleged efforts by the Department of State to freeze the conflict in Ukraine are dismissed out of hand in Moscow by every knowledgeable observer of the Russian government. In the absence of a freeze, Washington has no idea how to end the 600-day conflict.

The astute and honorable Colonel concludes:

The Washington uniparty (corporate oligarchs, public health officials, mainstream media, social media, deep state agencies, academia, Hollywood, and an assortment of dubious international agencies like the UN/WHO/WEF) swiftly invested trillions to advance globalization with U.S. military power. Whenever the armed forces were committed to action, a series of administrations were always ready to defer to ineffective, even failed, military commanders.

Wasteful defense spending, excessive redundancy in capability, and resistance to badly needed change in force design and modernization are now revealing that the U.S. Armed Forces are ill-suited to modern high-end conventional warfare. The fighting in Ukraine demonstrates that Washington can no longer ignore the influence of geography, culture, and economics, all of which operate as constraints on the use of American military power.

The age of abundant wealth and unconstrained defense spending is nearing its end. How Washington reacts to these realities will determine America’s future.

Wow. Reflect, readers, and I quote: "The Washington uniparty... swiftly invested trillions to advance globalization with U.S. military power." I say again, invested trillions to advance globalization with US military power. Right in the X Ring, Colonel. And at what cost?

Beyond hideous. Hundreds of thousands dead over the last two decades and tens of thousands piling up in Ukraine every month, each one of them a mother's child. Beyond awful. So wherein lies the blame? MacGregor calls it, the DC Uniparty, that Man of Blood, intent on its enrichment at the psychotic expense of everything and everyone.

What amazes me is the way modern Leftists champion and cheer the killing machine, how blind they are to state agitprop. But perhaps I'm naive, maybe they were for this all along, see Lewis' Abolition of Man.

Cheers,

LSP

What Did Cleopatra Look Like?

Cleopatra continues to fascinate after two millennia. What did she look like, this fabled woman who seduced not only Julius Caesar but also Mark Antony, and bore them both children? Was she beautiful?

Popular imagination and the halcyon silver screen portray Cleopatra as a seductively winsome Egyptian Queen in the style of Luxor or Giza. In today's enlightened and decolonized movies she's depicted like this:

such idiocy

Who knows, maybe Julius Caesar was attracted by her glittery Ukrainian eye makeup, perhaps Mark Antony was captivated by the Nubian side of things. But no, hardly. Cleopatra, Κλεοπάτρα Φιλοπάτωρ, "Cleopatra the father-beloved" was Greek, a Macedonian Ptolomy, and she looked like this:

bust portraits of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, 1 C AD (Berlin)

Beautiful? Not conventionally, but she had power, you'll note her diadem. In that vein, she was utterly ruthless and didn't shy scared of having family members assassinated, much less waging war itself.

This went badly for her, Κλεοπάτρα (Glory of the Father) took poison and died on learning of her lover Antony's defeat at Actium. She played for the highest stakes and lost.

Happy New Year!

Well here are at the start line of 2023. What will it bring? I'll wager the fighting monkey on any three of your non-binary trans priestesses that we're in store for more bad craziness. Witness the presumably unironically named SATANCON 2023 scheduled for Boston in April. Boston, curiously, is home to Harvard, Satan's Vatican.

But don't worry, devotees of the Pit, you may be heading for Hell but at least you'll be vaxxed and masked up while you're at it. Conference organizers stipulate, "Satancon attendees must be 18 or over and have proof of COVID vaccination. Attendees must wear an N-95, KN-95, or disposable surgical mask. Gaiters, bandanas, and cloth masks will not be allowed." Not dissimilar, when you think of it, to entering the US and Canada last year.

So yes, all kinds of demonic insanity's doubtless heading our way. But let's not forget that today's the Feast of the Holy Name, Jesus, God Saves. Only He unites our nature to God, illumines us with the fullness of divine truth, dies on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins, rises victorious from the grave and ascends to heaven, taking perfected, risen humanity to the throne of glory. Only in Him do we find union with God and life itself, salvation.

Stand fast in the power of the Name and be sure that the gates of Hell will not prevail, even in 2023. With that, have a happy New Year.

God bless you all,

Now We Really Hate You

Dufus & Gold Digger

Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame came out swinging against the repellent Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka "Harry & Meghan," in his column for the UK's beloved Sun tabloid. Clarkson admitted to hating Meghan on a "cellular level" and more besides.

Comparing Markle to Scotland's despised Premiere and serial killer Rose West, Clarkson stated, "Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level."

Even dumbass feels this is weird

What is it about this simpering, hypocritical, private jet flying, money grubbing, attention seeking, whining, crawled outta the LA ghetto  D List celeb which inspires such hatred, right down to the very cells of a person's being?

Good question and I like the way this remarkably privileged, overhyped wannabe princess feels put upon by Europe's leading monarchy. So let's insult your Grandmother-in-Law right after her death. Even common people don't so that, but what am I saying? Markle, now we really hate you.

Get right down on it

The Sun's taken Clarkson's column down after some 6000 complaints. I'd say he was right in the X Ring, if in high spirits, let the reader understand, and while you're at it it think on Markle's faux curtsy.

She's pulling a San Antonio Fiesta Queen as opposed to Court of St. James. Money on the monkey she saw it in a movie, what?

All Hail Clarkson,

Tax 'Em And Scourge 'Em

Do you remember the chorus of teeth gnashing, incohate rage when now defunct Tory Premiere and her POC Chancellor had the literal, brazen temerity to cut taxes in the Sceptered Isle? Sure you do, and the unfortunately named Truss was kicked out of power along with her pet POC.

Lo and behold, a new budget's been announced in the UK by the ruling Brahman and the media love it. It goes like this, we will raise taxes, a lot, on anyone earning over 100k a year. Yes, you'll be hit, you robber barons, with a punitive 60% levy on your ill-gotten gains. Take that, capitalist swine!

In the meanwhile, Deep State civil servant pensions rise exponentially in tune with inflation. All animals, you see, are equal but some are more equal than others, not least retired Whitehall Mandarins. Nice gig if you can get it, which most Britons can't. They're being replaced by low cost immigrant labor to the tune of 100s of thousands of people a year.

What I love most about this is that the Progressive Left applauds it. Get taxed outta existence, small business owner, and rejoice in your new trans bathroom as Blockrock takes over the franchise. Top hats, private jets and exclusive island clubs all 'round.

In the old days we used to know where these people lived, they were landowners on a grand scale and accountable to their estates. Today? That's gone, along with their contract to the people they should serve and manifestly don't.

It will end in tears, I tell you, and as always...

Well Lookit This!

Yes, you see that right, the Ukrainian colors have been added to the Trans Pride flag. All those Ukrainians are fighting and dying for Joe Biden's "greatest civil rights issue of our time," trans rights. Because, you know, getting a sex change is a really important civil liberty thing.

A Typical Black Sun. Note runes

You'll note the original Rainbow Banner of Gayness is shrinking under an aggressive assault by forward moving chevrons and we have to ask, what will be left of the Rainbow Banner's  fruity cheery colors as the West lurches into stainless steel, liberal Fascism. Intuition says stay tuned for the caring, tolerant, laughing face of Sonnenrad. But don't worry, in the meanwhile we have NATO, i.e. the US:

The U.S. Army is reportedly proposing a new policy that would allow soldiers to request a move to a new base if they believe they face discrimination from local or state laws on the basis of gender, sex, religion, race or pregnancy.

The move would change an existing policy that allows personnel to seek a move to help them cope with family problems.

In effect, it would allow soldiers to declare certain states to be too racist or homophobic for them to live there.

What?

How very beautiful. I say again, and again, are we gambling on never, ever, ever having to fight another major war? Serious question.

Vesper Light

Sunlight gleamed through the window of this humble church, illuminating the temple. What a good way to end Evening Prayer, "Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word, for mine eyes have seen thy salvation."

That in mind, here's some insight from Farrer:

From the first moment of its foundation, the Church was hard, clear, visible and firmly knit: nothing mossy about its edges. Its members professed one truth – they would not have risked death for religion, if they had not been convinced of the Gospel. They submitted their lives to the congregation, under the leadership of the ministers whom Christ’s Apostles had given them: if they were judged to have given scandal by their disloyal lives, they accepted penances from the Church, they fasted and wore mourning until they were readmitted to communion. They paid for the upkeep of the poor. They were present every Sunday at the Holy Sacrament: if they were absent, they were assumed to be sick: they were enquired after and the Holy Communion carried to them. Their heathen friends divorced their wives if they were tired of them: the Christians did not. Their heathen friends could make money in any profitable line: the Christians were forbidden a whole list of dishonest or indecent occupations. Their heathen friends rose in the government service: not so the Christians, because of the idolatrous oaths and other ceremonies attached to public office under Caesar. The lines were clear enough, sharp enough and costly enough, which silhouetted the living temple of God against a heathen sky.

This was the Church which Christ’s Apostles built for the honour of God, and if they did not know the mind of Christ, it is useless indeed for you to think that you will ever know it.

The lines were clear enough, sharp enough and costly enough, which silhouetted the living temple of God against a heathen sky. Yes indeed, and guinea on the monkey we're fast coming full circle to that very point.

God bless,

Can We Take You Seriously?

How can we take you seriously, so-called LSP, when you're heavily invested in magicke, dog-faced internet money? Good question and perhaps you shouldn't, but why wouldn't a joke crypto like $DOGE be any less valuable than a joke real world currency like the US Dollar?

That in mind, I went in at .03 and the initial investment's doubled in value, thanks very much, puppy. But will the playful dog leap higher? Well, it's certainly got plenty of positive press; after all, who doesn't like an adorable Shiba? See here, here, and here. To say nothing of Elon Musk, Gene Simmons and Snoop Dog's endorsement. But is it a wise investment? For sure, if you're a time traveler and bought at .0001/2. Do the math, but now?

Some random chart

Perhaps, if you have a couple of thousand hundred bucks ready and waiting to go on a capricious dog who's going dirt cheap, and the emotional fortitude of watching the pup leap and play with apparent disregard to life and limb. As it is, everyone's favorite peoples' currency's rallying at around the .06 mark. If it leaps, digs and claws through .055-.060 resistance, then experts predict a potential breakthrough to .090.

Which'd be grand. Will it happen? I don't know, but I do know this. Buy and hold because Fortuna rewards the patient, and don't lay down anything you're not prepared to lose. Not that I'm a gambling man, just ask the monkey. He's a vicious beast. Devil take the hindmost and remember, 1 $DOGE = 1 $DOGE.

Well It's All Going On!

You may not have noticed the bizarre speed of the news cycle today, being in a state of shock and awe at the pyramid peak of chicanery, skulduggery, malfeasance and corruption our hanging-on-the-edge republic's sunk to. Fair play, I get that, but things are moving and moving fast.

I mean to say, AG Barr's resigned, don't say fired, CISA, heard of them?, ordered Federal Agencies & Co. to power down malignant software, including Solar Wind. That'd be the same Solar Wind Dominion Voting Systems (DVS) runs. DVS proceeded to delete Solar Wind and its client list from their webpage.

An owl or: Just another stolen election, move along

Sorry, guys, archived and screenshot to Anon and back. Foreign interference in an election? Surely not, how could it be? Say the same fools who told us 45 was a Russian spy for years on end. Dam those Kremlins. But it goes on.

A Michigan judge ordered Antrim County's DVS voting machine forensic audit be made public. Michigan's Marxist legislature tried to keep the evidence under wraps, but it broke this morning. Verdict? Massive, mind-bending fraud. No wonder they wanted to keep the results on the down low. Fail, and multiply the result across the country.

Typical if random ATVs

Undaunted, Michigan certified their electoral votes as they played something called the Black National Anthem, which obviously isn't racist, while blocking GOP electors from entering the building. Desperate, guys? Sorry, generic masculine = colonizer, I'll report myself.

Friendsgiving aside, GOP electors in contested states such as GA, PA, AZ, NV, WI and on have called for 45, producing an officially contested election and dueling slates of electors. What does this mean, how will it play out?

I don't know, but I do know this. The race is fast and furious, some might get blown up, see Georgia, and some might hang if and when the trigger's pulled on '18 Executive Orders. High stakes, eh?

The Monkey

That in mind, bets on and don't ask the aged monkey, he's useless, if steadily ferocious. As it is, neither Biden nor 3% Kamala have resigned their million dollar socialist profit seats in the Senate.

Black Friday

Why is it called "Black Friday"?  I don't know, perhaps because everyone goes out and buys lots of  made in China black plastic.

Speaking of which, who'd have an interest in a viral scare which closes small businesses but somehow keeps big, giant, mega stores open. Don't say Walmart, Amazon and Big Box Inc., after all, it's not as though they have some weird kind of financial influence over anything.

That in mind, I boycotted our Corporate Communist Overlords today and went to a small shop for a bottle of wine. I like the guys that run it and the wine they sell, a far better selection than anything you'd get at, say, the nearest Tom Thumb.

In other news, the Left is furious that SCOTUS overturned Cuomo's new edict restricting attendance at religious services. Freedom of worship isn't freedom, according to the ACLU. Cuomo, who hasn't told giant supermarket chains to limit the number of their customers, has told the world that SCOTUS' ruling has no "practical effect." And that's just it.

Imagine, if you can, an America in which the results of a massively fraudulent election were brought before the Supreme Court, which overturned the election after evidence of industrial scale vote rigging. At which point the guilty parties follow Cuomo's lead and say, so what. What happens then?

I'm not a gambling man, but I'll wager the ageing but still vicious monkey that things might get... messy.

C'mon Man! Yet More Elder Abuse And Thuggery

C'mon, Man, have you no pity? Good question but we have to ask why the Democrats aren't even pretending to campaign, much less running the most useless, pathetic, hollow, fake of a candidate in living memory.

Surely they don't know they'll lose and aren't hedging their bets on voter fraud or some kind of coup. Heaven forbid, and this raises a serious point.

Jacob Blake Dindu Nuthin

The Left hypocritically refused to accept the result of the last election and, on form, tell us they'll refuse to accept the result of this one if it goes against them. Don't concede under any circumstances, says Hillary to Joe.

Saint Breonna Dindu Nuthin

So much for liberty, representation and our constitutional republic. But they care nothing for that, they want power and want it badly, at any cost. Devil, literally, take the hindmost.

Angels we have heard on high Dindu Nuthin

Be prepared, when 45 becomes 46, for Democrat cities to burn themselves down. Natural selection? Quite. In the meanwhile, a black pimp is running law enforcement on the streets of Seattle.  He's a Street Czar, no kiddin, and they're paying the pimp $150k a year. You couldn't make it up if you tried.

Big Pimpin Dindu Nuthin

In the meanwhile, our Marxist necromancer friends at Black Lives Matter have been paid millions of dollars, conservatively, by guilt ridden opportunists and we have to ask; how much of that not inconsiderable amount of cash has been used to help the life of even a single black person in our country's multiple, Democrat run slums?
