Boy's on fire, and so he should be. Europeans, I think, have a hard time parsing our grift, chicanery and sheer, unadulterated malfeasance. Yet there it is for all to behold, thanks, DOGE. That in mind, how do you feel about your tax dollars going to fund Bloomberg, Politico, the WaPo, NYT and lesbian theater workshops. Did you vote for that? Some solace, Rat Claw Rubio's threatening to axe USAID from some 10,000 employees to 297. Go, Rat Claw.

Do you remember how a teenage Swedish autist, with an arguably satanic mother, determined the energy policy of the Western World? Sure you do, gotta go Zero Carbon Footprint or the world's gonna die! You know, like rising sea levels, pandas dying, Manhattan flooded, Chicago undersea, all science like.
Such paltry, clownshow, medicine show, snake oil, buffoon malfeasance, as our rainbow hypocrite elite green leaders fly the world in their private jets and buy beachfront mansions in the Hamptons. What a fraudulent scam from the get go, but look what's happened in their insane, satanic, lust for power and wealth.
Hilariously, the push for coal is being led by Europe, ground zero of the "green movement" which finally realized that one can't burn fake virtue or melt posing in front of camera in the winter to keep warm, and is boosting coal purchases to ensure it can keep power flowing to homes and factories after Russia cut gas supplies to the continent. Germany, which not long ago promised to eliminate coal as a power source by 2030, is among the nations now importing more. Economy Minister Robert Habeck called the increased reliance on coal bitter but necessary. Spoiler alert: Germany will not eliminate coal as a power source by 2030, if anything it will be more reliant on it than ever unless it also restarts its nuclear power plants which it, idiotically, shut down not long ago.
Never one to admit it was dead wrong, however, Europe has a response to everything: “Right now the sentiment is that more coal is better than more Russia,” said Alex Msimang, a London-based partner at law firm Vinson & Elkins LLP specializing in the energy sector.
Whatever dude.
I'll leave it at that.

It appears there's trouble in the UK rainbow paradise, a TERF war! Here's a guest post by our British correspondent to put you in the picture:
The latest round of the TERF (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist) War took place in Manchester this Sunday. A rally for womens' rights at Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst’s (1858-1928) statue in Manchester was confronted, not just by the Gender-confused coloured hair Trans brigade (TRAs), but also by the sinister deployment of uniformed Antifa activists from the ‘Anarchist Federation’, an avowed Anarcho-Communist organisation.
The TRAs and their Antifa fan boys occupied the site of the statue to prevent the Womens' rally. But the women with considerably more people supporting them, used common sense, and rallied opposite the enraged TRAs and their Antifa Poundland Ninja guard.
The women were there to celebrate their hard-won rights. Whereas the TRAs and Antifa were apoplectic that independently minded women would dare give speeches, perform poetry (they are getting better), dress up in dinosaur costumes (Ed., ahem), wantonly dance, sing humorous songs and generally have a laugh. Mostly at the expense of the Trans movement. So what's it all about?
In the UK this is an important front-line in the culture war. It's predicated on a simple disagreement: Is sex an immutable biological characteristic observable from birth, or just a biological construct that can be chosen by an individual? For the TERFs a woman is an adult human female. For the TRAs a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. Thus it cuts to the heart of the post-Modernist agenda. Is reality tangible, measurable and definable, or is reality an infinitely adaptable linguistic construct that defies measurement and definition.
For the TERFs evidence is fact-based, demonstrable, and measurable. For the TRAs evidence is theoretically informed, arises from experiential opinion and focuses upon manipulation of the narrative. Emphasis on narrative, for example:
When TERFs say that biological men should not be housed in womens' prison, TRAs claim that they are endangering Transwomen’s safety. When TERFs objects to uninformed, vulnerable, and young biological Women being subject to mastectomies’ and pumped full of hormones because they are suffering from gender dysphoria, the TRAs denounce the TERFs as engaging in conversion therapy. When TERFs want Rape shelters to be Women only, TRAs denounce the TERFs as Transphobic and single-sex Rape shelters as lacking diversity. When TERFs say a woman is a biological category, the TRAs call them fascists.
It was because of labeling opponents as fascist that Antifa were in attendance at the TERF War Battle of Manchester. When a woman with a Suffragette flag approached the statue, Antifa attacked her. How stunning and brave.
The Greater Manchester Police – officially the most LGBT+ Police force in the UK - rather than arrest the man who assaulted her chose to have an ‘advisory’ word with the woman who had the temerity to fly the Suffragette flag in front of a statue of Britain’s leading Suffragette. Neatly demonstrating the institutional capture of the Greater Manchester Police by the TRA ideology. However, TERFs can meme:
Needless to say the Antifa Anarchists were far from amused, especially when even JK Rowling poured scorn on them. Here's a video:
'There is no conflict between women's rights and our ideology. To prove it, we've dressed up as ninjas to block public access to a statue of a suffragette. We're confident this has done wonders for our cause and definitely isn't an unintentionally hilarious own goal.' https://t.co/7zjICPqT3W

Part of the problem with yesterday's popular and influential mind post was that it wasn't long enough, several people said as much. So here's some more.
Remember rich kid, MillSoc, faux-mex Beto? He wants to take over Texas. Uh Huh. His net worth is >$9m, that's why he's a socialist. What a clownshow fraud.
Then there's the Butt Guy, Little Pete. He's in charge of our transportation because he knows so much about it, because so very , very gay.
But don't forget the heavy hitters, like Ice Cream, Millionaire Socialist Pelosi. Imagine, if you can, the price of her surgeon to say nothing of her socialist $24k refrigerators.
Then there's pastry cook Mittens Romney. Tomfoolery, malfeasance and outright pharisaical corruption is clearly bipartisan. OK, let's stop there though the list could run and run.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a patriot, I really am, and I love this country and its people. A goodhearted crew. That in mind, why do we allow mountebanks, clowns, parasites and buffoons to rule us?
Perhaps part of it is because we don't, our electoral process is a broken sham and with that, the question remains.
Your Old Pal,

What's with the Church and our elite rulers? Here's Anthony Esolen at the Catholic Thing, via Dad of Six:
A few years ago, Ta-Nehisi Coates, winner of a MacArthur genius award, and a popular writer on race in America, admitted he had never heard of Saint Augustine. Many people rushed to point out the irony, that an African American who makes much of Africa – he has named one of his sons for an African fighter against French colonialism – should be unaware of the greatest writer ever to come from the continent.
But that was not the real trouble, the real cause for disappointment. Coates, I am sure, is but one among the millions of our American elites whose education violates the law of flowing water, and manages to be narrow and shallow at once. He hadn’t heard of Saint Augustine – but who has?
Can we be sure that the professors hanging about in the faculty lounge at State College have heard of him, let alone have read or at least opened the Confessions?
Go to Silicon Valley, and visit a cafeteria at Google. Which is more likely, that the people sitting at a table can have a boisterous conversation about the latest Marvel Comics movie featuring Spider-Man, or that they can even drop one or two sensible comments on Cervantes and the Knight of the Woeful Countenance?
Go to the House of Representatives, and drop the name of Tocqueville. It falls like a pebble into a deep well, with hardly a ripple or a sound.
I don’t think I am exaggerating. We suppose our schools serve at least the rich and powerful, but in crucially important regards it is not so. Their graduates can scramble up a half-literate essay, they can learn science and medicine and mathematics and what passes for law, but they are hardly less ignorant of the great heritage of western arts and letters than are the children of the slums.
And they have this additional disadvantage. They are unlikely to have darkened a church door, so that the spiritual heritage of Christendom is for them at best an uncharted territory, an unknown continent, and at worst, a monster of the post-Christian imagination, a bugbear to frighten secular toddlers.
They need not go to Marvel or MIT for a message from another universe. Opening the Imitation of Christ will do.
Elites tend to be arrogant and to spin roulette with the moral law. But at least the ordinary man might expect from them good manners, polished taste, a certain noble reserve, a willingness to be first to bear the burden of war, and education fit for ladies and gentlemen. Our elites are as arrogant as any French courtier in the last days of Louis XVI, and they lead in spreading diseases of moral corruption; but we get from them nothing compensatory – they are ill-mannered, slovenly, loud, timorous, and ignorant.
Well, what do we do about it? I know what we at Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts do about it. We teach students who read and discuss, not just for a section of one special class, Plato and Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas, Shakespeare and Cervantes, Michelangelo and Rodin. And not because we want to show off, but because we love them, because they have searched for the truth, and they have strained their muscles and nerves to bring beauty into the world.
When the young Augustine was at Carthage studying rhetoric among other young men who strove for power and influence in the world of law, he happened upon a book we have since lost, the Hortensius, by Cicero. That book changed his life, because it kindled in him a hunger for wisdom, what the Greeks called philosophy. I guess that in a bad world, we need a Hortensius now and again.
The good news is that we have them, thousands and thousands, more easily available to the hungering mind than ever been before. Many of these are rightly in the keeping of the Church: Augustine’s Confessions, for one, and Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy, two works without which I would not have become a professor of Renaissance literature, and, more dreadful to consider, without which my Catholic faith might not have made it across the secular desert called Princeton, but starved along the way.
Many other works belong, so to speak, to all the world, but the world has cast them aside, or slandered them, or mangled them beyond recognition. The world will have to turn to the Church not only for Christ, then, but for Cicero too, not only for wisdom regarding the things of Heaven, but for human wisdom about human things, not only for Paul, but for Plato. And more.
The elites have been in the vanguard of cultural evisceration, in all kinds of ways. Only the Church can recover the abandoned land, and till it with love. By comparison with what people still within living memory once took for granted, there are now no dances, no socials, no local ball leagues, no community singing, few parades – and those but exercises in garishness and obscenity. And no genuine common life.
The Church can still do for man what man once did for himself. She must do so, too, or we must be condemned to preaching not to bad men but to half-men.
Which brings me back to Mr. Coates. He is a man of great inborn talent. He ought to be evangelized. Before he can be – I am speaking of the general case – the subsoil of humanity must be enriched.
Let those who have heard of Christ only as a curse, and who, not coincidentally, can no longer conceive of the beauty of those human things, glance our way and see merriment, marriage, good manners, lively conversation about great and good artists, composers, and poets, and children everywhere.
Let the elites learn from us, the foolish and the deplorable, and almost the only people left in the world who can tell what it was like to be that lost soul in Carthage, long ago.
I love all of this but you may not. There's no rule. But here's the thing, the Church is led, massively, by a miserable, apostate satrapy of secularist quislings. Fear, pontiffs, the wrath to come. And yes, I'm speaking about you "Welby," if that's your real name, which we doubt.
Your Old Pal,

We're in the midst of a killer pandemic of historic proportions, so our beneficent elite overlords have to take drastic measures to keep us safe. Which is why they're firing nurses and staff at hospitals, you can read all about it at Old NFO.
Think about that, if only for a moment because the math isn't hard, and then run the other side of the equation. Congress and its staff, the Postal Service and illegal immigrants are exempt from the vax.
They don't have to get it to function as Federal employees or enter the country, unlike everyone else, say, soldiers. Add this all together, to say nothing of minor fractions like Pharma's liability waiver, and eureka, the equation's solved. What an utter clownshow.
We've been and are being fed a pack of lies to make a gang of mendacious crooks, mountebanks and grifters get even richer than they already were. The cost to you, the serf? Loss of liberty, life and the pursuit of happiness, as in "don't you even think of taking your kids to an ice rink in Ontario without your vax papers, criminal."
This whole thing is totally, bizarrely insane. Why, in the name of science, are we firing healthcare workers in a pandemic? Perhaps because there isn't one, only an evil shell game ponzi riding high on a sea of lies fostered by the criminals' infernal father, Satan.
I'll leave it right there.
Your Old Friend,
LSP
One of the things we love about America's elite rulers is the way they've led us to success and prosperity over the past few decades. It's not as though they've been traitorously asset-stripping the land for personal gain or anything like that. Here, have a look.
There they are at the G7, the most powerful politicians of the world, clowning it up for the cameras with "arm-bumps," only to hug and back slap off stage. What a venal crew of mountebanks, to say nothing of the agitprop arm of the State, corporate media, which laps it up.
Is anyone fooled? Yes indeed they are, note the Left, which is now firmly on the side of Big Pharma, Big State, and big loss of freedom. Wear your mask! Our sponsors demand it! Speaking of which, surely it's time for BLM/ANTIFA to put corporate logos on their riot gear, like Nascar but radical revolutionary with it.
You can imagine the gushing reportage, "Today's peaceful protest burned down Baltimore's Inner Harbor in an act of solidarity with oppressed transsexual people of color everywhere, brought to you by Bank of America and Pfizer." Pan out to eatery on fire and a rainbow flag waving gaily in the victorious dollar-driven winds of profit.
But not to worry, our military's finally being repurposed to face the greatest threat facing America. Not China, Russia, Islamic terrorists, space aliens (what? stay tuned...), inflation, poverty, ballooning crime, stagnant wages, a pathetic standard of education, 5th Column nihilist revolutionaries, the breakdown of the family, and a government run by corrupt, multi-millionaire, self-serving, stooge oligarchs of the NWO. Is that the threat? No, that's it is not, it's climate change and a lack of "diversity."
What utter, shameless, errant, bought-and-paid-for malfeasance. Still, in the midst of this florescence of chicanery, Nottingham appears to have got it right. Thanks, Jules, for the uplift.
Cheers,
LSP
So what's it to be first, the good news or the bad news? Let's go with the good because this simple mind blog's all about boosting morale in these troubled and uncertain times. And the good news is this, there'll be two baptisms in Mission #2 tomorrow, which is a holy and blessed thing.
It also confirms upward momentum in that rural outpost of God's kingdom, PTL. And don't worry, the goodness keeps flowing; the Specialist, my eldest, is "feeling better." Now for the bad news.
After getting the J&J vax, one shot, cheapest on the market, the kid got really sick and had to go to hospital. He got a steroid shot, which helped, and we spoke, "Everything's OK now, Dad." I posted it, pleased. But last night I discovered it wasn't OK.
And so we end on a good note, endeavoring to think positive, train hard and fight easy. But I tell you, the crooks, malfeasants, psychosociopaths, scam artists and virtue-signaling mountebanks have got a lot to answer for. Will we ever know the full-scale perfidy that's been played on our nation and the world at large? I doubt it.
In the meanwhile, say a prayer that John makes a full recovery.
God bless,
LSP
