The Feast of St. Matthew

It's the Feast of St. Matthew, who was a publican and a bad sinner who got the call. Here's the Collect:

O ALMIGHTY
God, who by thy blessed Son didst call Matthew from the recipt of custom to be an Apostle and Evangelist; Grant us grace to forsake all covetous desires, and inordinate love of riches, and to follow the same thy Son Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

Now, there's a right way to worship God,

And a wrong way.

You decide which is which.

God bless,

LSP

The clown church seems to be lacking fat lesbian liturgical dancers...or maybe they're off stage waiting their turn to entertain and inspire.

A lot of churches in America are "entertainment based". They have bands, they have power point presentations, and so forth. There is a church near me with interior walls that are all black, like a theater, so people will stay focused on the stage where the band, the singers and entertainers are doing their thing.

Not much Spirit of God, but a lot of Spirit of Elvis.

I'm so glad we started attending Latin Mass at area churches. I'm also thankful the local Novus Ordo doesn't do anything weird during the service, like clowns or dancers. Good grief!

There used to be a pagan comic I read, and a recurring punchline was "Can't sleep, Clowns For Christ will convert me." It still seems applicable in that second photo.

When you turn a cathedral into a "Temple of the Living Elvis", you must be prepared for the inevitable consequences.

LL, I have to agree. Elvis lives, on stage, in a church.

I prefer the Latin, Anonymous.

That's pretty scary, Mattexian.
