Amen and ditto to you DrJim. That a group of men could craft such statements of Truth. Clarity and succinctness. May the Lord bless us with a grand revival of understanding of the Creeds!
LSP, are you becoming orthodox? I haven't seen you wearing a beard but I'm sure it would suit you. MotherLSP might not appreciate the switch to the other team.
I see the ancient creeds as a litmus test. In talking to folks who say they are Christain, my question to them is whether they believe every. single. word. is true. If they say no, I believe them to be a heretic.

I just went and read the Nicene Creed, along with the Apostle's Creed, which I remembered almost word-for-word from my Catholic grade school days.
I believe every word of both of them. It's a powerful document, and I take it to heart.

Good to hear the actual Nicene creed without the papal filioque in it.

Great music.
The priest was doing a heavy-duty baptism on that kid. That is a good thing. John would be proud.

drjim, that's exactly right. I don't know much but I do know the Creeds, and they are true.
The Martyr Council, Prodigal, was guided by the Spirit. No kidding.
The Creed is always good, Anon.
No, Mr. Wolf, loyal son of the Western Church. I do love the East though.
Yes, Sambo, most definitely.
