Divine Simplicity

 

God, say the experts, is simple, meaning he isn't a compound being made up of parts, you can't add or subtract from him, all that is in him is him. And so God loves, he is love. What does this mean? A lot, James Dolezal expounds the mystery:

First, it means we cannot posit a distinction between God and His attributes the way we might between a creature and its attributes. A man, for instance, may be wise, just, and powerful. But he is not identical with the wisdom, justice, and power by which he is such. Each of these is a part that contributes some form of being to him, and each is distinct from the man as a whole. He depends upon these qualities to be as he is. Because God is simple, this is not how He has His attributes. Properly speaking, God does not have wisdom, justice, power, and so forth—attributes really distinct from His being as God. Rather, God just is the wisdom by which He is wise, the justice by which He is righteous, and the power by which He is powerful, and so forth for all His other attributes.

Second, and more deeply, divine simplicity means that God is not composed of existence and essence. As with His attributes, God does not have existence or essence as principles really distinct from His being as God. Rather, God just is the act of existence by which He exists and the essence of divinity by which He is God. But this is not how it is with creatures. To be a human, for example, is to be a certain kind of creature. But no human being is humanity as such. Rather, each one possesses humanity as a principle determining him to be the kind of being he is. Moreover, being a human does not explain why any particular human exists. Rather, each man’s act of existence is a principle he possesses in addition to his essence. In short, it is not the essence of humanity to be. For classical theists, this is the proper locus of the Creator-creature distinction. Creatures possess existence as a gift (see Acts 17:25, 28; Rev. 4:11) that is really distinct from their respective essences, whereas God simply is His own existence, there being no composition of principles of existence and essence in Him.

All that is in God is God. He, being His own existence and essence, and so not derived from causes as are all other beings, is alone adequate to ultimately account for all that is caused-to-be.

Technology has done nothing but make us dumber, distracted and easily manipulated by the Bernaysian masters of manipulation.

Multiple generations have now been socially indoctrinated by government schools to obey, emote, believe, and fear whatever (Covid) and whoever (Putin) they are commanded to fear. What they are not taught is how to think critically, question everything, and make their own decisions based upon actual facts. Test scores in reading, writing and math are at all-time lows. The solution is to continually lower the standards and never hold anyone accountable for results.

We are a nation of morons led by a cadre of psychopaths. Children are encouraged by their parents and doctors to cut off their breasts and penises due to peer pressure and deviants controlling the schools and media. Groomers make toddlers watch transgender freaks perform sex acts on stage. Library books for 8-year-olds describe anal sex, masturbation, and other perverted acts.

Statues portraying our history are torn down by mobs, while what passes for art and architecture today is perverted, frivolous and inconsequential. There are no masterpieces of literature created in our rotting society. The only thing that matters is monetizing content and number of eyeballs. Quality is non-existent, overridden by quantity and replaceability. Movies and television programs are created by untalented hacks, responding to focus groups, and required to insert the required racial and homosexually woke storylines into every program.

There are no Godfathers or Casablancas being produced. There are no novelists writing masterpieces on par with Steinbeck or Hemingway. But we do have Cardi B belting out her best-selling song WAP (acronym for Wet-Ass Pussy) and Sports Illustrated with transgender and obese swimsuit models. Based on TV commercials, 90% of Americans are either black, in an interracial relationship, gay, or transgender. We are an epically unserious society. Anyone observing America and most of the western world in an impartial manner would have to conclude we are already living in a new Dark Age of ignorance, superstition, and degradation, even before the final collapse of empire.

 

Such degradation, not least financial, leads to a collapse of empire, and great will be the fall of it. Oh, what a conspiracy theory! Said the person wearing rainbow socks who never looked at the national debt and couldn't be bothered to read history, ancient much less modern. 

Smart people on the other hand, are growing food, loading mags and cleaning weapons. And going to church, after all, it's the Feast of the Visitation.

Work Day

 

One of the things that happens here is we have a Men's Breakfast which meets once a month. The men of Mission #2 meet up for breakfast burritos, tasty, and enjoy each other's company, good Christian fellowship.

Today everyone converged on Mission #1 for the usual tasty burritos and then some work on the grounds. Pressure washing, hedge trimming, my task, and all of that. They worked hard, what good guys.

Then it was over, around Noon, and we celebrated with a cold beer on a tailgate. And all was well with the world, at least this little part of it. Great result, so there you have it.

Do you remember Nimrod's operation on the plains of Shinar (Iraq), where his people in their conceited pride disobeyed God and built a tower to heaven, exalting themselves as Gods? Well, if you don't, it's in Genesis 11: 1-9. Such impious pride and God didn't stand for it, he confounded their language and divided them. Operation Tower over, ENDEX.

And so to today. Babel, the apotheosis, self-divinization of persynkind continues apace, in fact it gathers steam. "Look at us," we announce to the Divine Power we don't believe in, "We are as gods, Masters of the Universe."

Yes indeed, why rely or obey some remote deity, a patriarchal oppressor to boot, when you can do it all DIY? Why believe in God, runs the logic when you can map the human genome and construct a dishwasher with built-in obsolesence?

Why not indeed, but with apologies to Leni Reisenthal, we find ourselves confounded at the very moment we should be celebrating the Triumph of Godless Human Will. Per Babel, our language is confounded and becomes unintelligible, dominant cultural orthodoxy speaks gibberish, the language of Hell.

"I am," says a 19 year old with unfortunately dyed hair, "They/Them." Leaving aside "I am Legion for we are many," this doesn't make any sense, not unlike "I've got my truth, you've got yours." Utter nonsense. On point, Raytheon's marketing department trumpeted its latest anti ship munition as "the greenest munition ever." Wow. And on, ad naus.

This is insane. It makes no sense. It's Babel, a babble of incoherent, competing, unintelligible voices vying for supremacy. A competing pantheon of Gods if you like, but a pantheon inhabited by satanic pygmies instead of the warring gods of Olympus. Heathendom, my friends, has devolved.

Against this arrives the Holy Spirit. The spirit of Truth, Love, and Freedom. The spirit of life Himself, of God. This Spirit cannot be defeated, it is reality itself, and woe betide those who stand against it not least while invoking it. 

They will be relentlessly destroyed. See Bud Lite.

Sinai

 

Years ago I went to Mount Sinai with some Jewish friends, I was fifteen. What a remarkable thing to see the sun rise from the top of the Holy Mountain over the desert as Bedouin tribes crossed the sand, far below. It was a picture out of the Old Testament and beautiful for it.

As we climbed down from the peak, my friend's Father, an eminent neuro-endrocrynologist (!), went all '70s, "Moses must've been a hard man, leading all those Jews, for forty years, through the wilderness." His Father, gentle readers, was a Viennese  Rabbi until the Nazis did for him. 

That in mind, do you think God smote the Hitlerites with extreme prejudice because of their murderous hatred towards his chosen people? I'd argue yes, but feel free to disagree.
