On a day that began as ordinary as any other, terrorists carrying out a sadistic plan murdered thousands of our fellow compatriots. With shock and disbelief, we watched our first responders, encumbered by heavy equipment and hindered by debris and smoke, rush with conviction and courage into the void to rescue those in despair. With pride and sorrow, we felt the tremendous bravery of those aboard Flight 93, who summoned the courage to charge the terrorists in a counterattack that saved countless American lives. As the day closed, America steadied its resolve to hold accountable those who had attacked us and to ensure it would never happen again.
The courage, heroism, and resilience Americans displayed on 9/11, and in its aftermath, are perpetual testaments to the spirit of our country. While our Nation was anguished by this attack, the grit displayed that day — the very essence of America — was a reminder that our citizens have never failed to rise to the occasion. Heroes sprang into action in the face of great peril to help save their fellow Americans. Many laid down their lives. As we reflect on the events of that September morning, let us recommit to embrace the stalwart bravery displayed and reaffirm our dedication to defending liberty from all who wish to deny it.

Yes indeed,

....and 19 years later we have the press celebrating multi-millionaire black athletes kneeling during the national anthem.

I’d just returned from a ‘training’ team deployment in Sierra Leone, on my fourth day back – this. I watched with mixed feelings – the shock, anguish, the pride and the expectation. Shock, not only that it had been allowed to happen there but that they’d dared, anguish for those murdered and their families, pride in the ‘Blitz like ‘ response of the people, and the expectation that finally, as I repacked my bergan ready to go after the standby order was given, ‘the gloves would come off’ (and wasn’t that illusion shattered?).
When President Trump said that I believe he is genuine and actually means it, unfortunately not one of his predecessors (or the establishment) patently gave a rats a$$ about liberty, the American people, and most especially those killed.
Even a generation ago it would have been unthinkable simply because the justified response would have been terrible to behold. But what did we get? Afghanistan and Iraq 2.0, both with ROE’s that make social workers look like bullies. Your country was capable of finding every supporter, financier and country involved and leaving them/it as puddles of blood and molten radioactive glass (and a generation or so ago, it would have, por encourager les outres) but instead we had limited ‘targetted’ strikes at peripheral interests that didn’t upset the vested interests (despite appearances, both of the above were nothing more, and mostly distractions).
Then, increased mass immigration, not from like-minded western countries (no that’s reduced to almost nothing) but from the very countries overflowing with the very people who attacked you. Resulting in? Ilhan Omar, Linda Sarsour, Rashida Tlaib, etc. and all the people they pretend to represent. And worse, a national ‘bending over backwards’ to justify, excuse and pander-to those who did this (they almost allowed a mosque to be built on the ruins FFS).
(Oh, you aren’t the only ones, my country didn’t even need an excuse to attempt to replace the population and “rub the rights face in it”).
I’ve spent decades living, working and fighting in muslim countries. Individually they can be some of the nicest people you will ever meet (and as tiny minority they ‘act’ the same). But … but, when they become even a large minority, let alone a majority, the act is dropped. They hate and despise us, you more even than us. They are schizophrenic in both feeling infinitely superior to all others, yet having an inferiority complex regarding the west, which is used as an excuse for every wanton depravity imaginable (don’t dare claim the majorities civility until you personally have witnessed the stoning of a young woman, the burning, beheading or casual torture to death of an ‘enemy’ or anyone judged an apostate, or the dismissive murder or mutilation of ‘their own children’ for transgressing in some minor manner. All, not only justified but cheered and demanded by the majority. And a common event wherever, be it Shitcanistan, London or Dearborn. Try standing, watching helplessly, because if you act ‘you’ will be torn limb-from-limb because they ‘all’ agree, and ‘the authorities’ and ‘moral and religious leaders’ would lead the pack).
No, until/unless they are all required, or forced if necessary, to abide by the civilised norms of western countries in our own countries (and either barred or expelled if unwilling) those unquiet dead, and heroic people, aren’t being shown respect. Their graves and memories are being spit on, daily.
Your country is so large that even with the numbers involved it is still only in limited areas that they are concentrated enough to show the vile face behind the mask. Look to Europe, or here in Britain, to see what ‘will’ happen as those numbers increase.
Where then will your vaunted “dedication to defending liberty from all who wish to deny it” be?
China is seen as threat, and it is, but the true threat to western civilisation is the barbarian hordes of islam – and our ‘leaders’ have invited them through the gates and into the parlor.
America had no response to this attack.
It is a day for somber reflection, of the attack in NY, DC and of Flight 93 - and of the Benghazi massacre a decade later. We need to think about the roles of people who were involved. Many heroes emerged. Many craven scumsuckers also emerged.
A famous Adulterous Female Muslim Congresswoman said, "something happened to someone" in describing her thoughts of the day that will live in infamy.
I'm outraged by them, Infidel.
Todd was a hero, Adrienne. And thank you for posting that.
NFO, prayers for the fallen. And utter defeat to the evil which killed them.
Anon, I get the impression you feel a little betrayed by our rulers. You might like to check out the comments on LL's two 9/11 posts.

Just to show I've not been entirely idle over the years:

There's a serious omission in my argument, see if you can spot it it.
Hint, France.
Kid, I read Beans' comments over at LL's and was left aghast. Then the country elected Hussein while proceeding to destroy the ME and flood Europe with military age male Moslems.
Like, what?
I won't go on but well done, Mr. President, for not kicking off another war. Imagine the result if OLD CRONE had won.
LL, there's a depth of wickedness in this which you know far better than I. As for the AFM, well, someone set up that vote and people stood by and let it happen.
They'll regret that.

See, the internet ‘is’ good for something, and there is was thinking I was the lone voice in the wilderness (OK, not quite).
Accurate and impressive but (there’s always a but isn’t there) … the one point that seemed ‘debatable’ is the unity of the Catholic Church. Is it not, and the most valid point to me is ‘at least in the west, a ‘house divided’ itself? Then there is ‘the will’, whilst I have no real knowledge of the feelings of the parishioners, the hierarchy seems obviously, shall we say, ‘tarnished’ with the taint of PC. As with the Protestant churches, without the hierarchy behind any reaction, the church itself is effectively irrelevant.
I’ve been to some interesting places over the years and ‘observed’ (I’m a people watcher even on my own time). I spent quite a bit in eastern europe (some even before the wall came down all those eons ago – am I really that old) and Christianity has, with the withdrawal of the communist boot, rebounded dramatically there.
Then there is our ‘secular’ society. I’ve observed before that our societies are fundamentally, foundationally Christian. Not one in a hundred of my boys (bless their tarnished souls) ever attended church ‘voluntarily’ (it usually entailed threats and bribery even then) but … belief in societies Christian morality and virtues (possibly “More honor'd in the breach than the observance” though admittedly) was apparent in almost all, and importantly was a matter of both belief and identity for them. Yet here, and there, possibly couched in non-religious terms, the average man-in-the-street has grown “… icy … as each count is proved”. Their fundamental beliefs and identity have been steadily attacked and they are beginning to awaken.
So? If, and that’s the biggest question, there is to be a new ‘Hammer’ or ‘Lion of Lechistan’ I suspect he will arise in the east (Poland or Hungary) but the cause, I suspect more than a few Protestant, Catholic and ostensibly secular Englishmen will flock to the banner. What I am attempting, badly, to say is that if it is to occur at all, there may be a trigger, a leader, a figurehead but the cause itself will be ‘popular’ and ‘population’ driven one rather than (unfortunately and regrettably) a church one (and whilst not a state one, since they will probably oppose it).
The main problem though is that unlike previously the invaders are already through the gates, and our euphemistically self-titled ‘elites’ have sold their souls to the enemy. There are already indications and actions being undertaken ‘at the local level’ though there are “neither sign nor show” or is it “preached to the crowd” I suspect it may grow should a ‘trigger event’ occur. I look around and wonder if it is not already too late, because if it is not, when it arrives, it will literally be so terrible that henceforth "time will count from the date". It will be a war to the knife, and we'll all have thrown our scabbards away. It will be Powells 'Rivers of blood' incarnate.
I don’t know if you’ve seen this blogpost:

An interesting assessment, but in the related topic the conclusion rings true here as well.
“This, then, is the conflict we find ourselves in, and just like our Crusading ancestors we must answer the Call. Failing that, we shall perish and future generations will curse our names”.
EXCELLENT link Anon. And worth a *republish.
Trigger event? They're occurring daily, not least on account of the Left's genius.
Do you remember the old call, Deus Vult?
I feel sure you do.
Really mixed emotions about that day regarding my fellow citizens. By nightfall there were long lines at the gas stations with people filling up. Days following every car had a small flag clipped to a rear window.
The citizens of NYC and Washington D.C. went out an put their asses on the line. The rest of the country? Not so much.
