Well Done

Abu Sayyaf

According to AP, U.S. Special Forces killed a senior ISIS commander, Abu Sayyaf, and captured his wife, as well as freeing a Yazidi woman who was being kept as a slave.

The raid took place in Syria, where Sayyaf was killed after what was described by a National Security Council spokeswoman as an "intense firefight" with some "hand to hand combat."

All US forces returned to base.

More, please.

Waiting on the unsanctioned book and movie from a supposed SF operator who decided that fortune, fame, and an analytical spot on FOX News is superior to the HSLD (high speed, low drag) life, who will not be able to provide any proof that what they said happened actually happened.

Whatever happened to the "silent operators....?" Oh yeah! They have been supplanted by a government who prefers the psyop propaganda war on its citizens. Bread and Circuses. Nothing to see here (unless we want you to see it; and then it was not real anyway - just a made up fabrication that we want you to believe so we can keep you distracted from the truth.)

Owl, I've wondered about the silent operators as well. Also that it must make it more problematic to carry out missions when you are outed left and right...

The Father of Swordsmen has been very elusive. Operating primarily in the Philippines. Now we shall see if the sons of the hydra will spring up out of the ground and replace him.

I guess I better stop wearing my red shemagh, lest I get capped by "ghosts" too! (Here's "Mini-Me" in my idea of partisan light infantry gear.)

PS Padre, I saw these British multi-terrain camo windproof smocks on sale the other day, and thought you might like one, they might blend quite well with a dry Central Texas autumn. (The pic on the page shows the older woodland-colored DPM camo, the "more images" link show the current one. To my untrained eye, the camo looks identical to the US Army's Multicam gear.) http://www.majorsurplus.com/British-Windproof-Smock-P17311.aspx#

It's all conspiracy theory, Owl, until it's conspiracy fact.

Let's see how keen they are to step into his shoes, LL.

Nice "mini-me", Mattexian! I approve of the "combat sneakers."

I also like the Brit camo jacket and have one (much better than the flimsy rubbish I was issued with during my short spell in Her Majesty's finest). But not multicam -- I think that's being phased in...

Good point, Brighid.

I wear camo clothing so that nobody can see me, even in the middle of the city. Yes, they see a head walking down the street and maybe a set of hands and wrists swinging to the beat, but that's it.
