Help me out, LSP. I can't figure out exactly what is up with the vest peeps. I get the gas tax - and all the other extremely high taxes, but it seems like they're protesting in order to have the government give them more stuff. Sounds sort of lefty to me. And I certainly don't get burning up cars that belong to other citizens. It seems France is really a mess.
You're a Brit and must certainly know more about this.
I'm no expert, Adrienne, but I'd say it's a mix. They're really highly taxed and regulated by the same globalist asset-strippers who were shocked and dismayed when Hillary didn't get the golden ticket. And it hasn't benefited the working class, think rust belt here, so finally the wheels came off and people started rioting.
I don't blame them and imagine, if you saw a millionaire socialist's car it'd be tempting to turn it into a heartwarming freedom torch. There it is, Roseanne's Lexus parked next to Cher's Bentley on the Champs Elysees. And look! There's Katy Perry's S Class Jag by the Tuileries. Set 'em on fire, it's cold outside. I get that.
But yes, "want more free stuff" seems to be part of it and commies and nationalists seem to both be in the mix.
Long story very short, a friend in the UK put it well, "The government's in a dilemma. Raise taxes and the workers rise up. Lower taxes and the immigrant ghetto (and their votes) rise up."
So the Davos Macronites are in trouble. My feeling, for what it's worth, is that the Muslims are going to get the short end of this disturbing stick. In the meanwhile, let's see the millionaire elite socialists get what's coming to them.

Thanks for the smile, Parson!
Kids in America should start using that excuse. It's just as believable as "the dog ate the homework".
I don't think that Blue Gentleman would eat homework unless it wrapped a fried cherry pie. Then the homework would be GONE.

Snerk... Thanks, I needed that.
Glad to oblige, drjim!
LL, Blue Fried Pie would be all over that in a FLASH. We know this from experience.

I love that infographic, NFO. Glad it lightened up the day!
Thank you, LSP.
For sure, Adrienne. Have a look at the infovideo, if you like, it illustrates the theme.
Happy Feast of St. Peter Damian.
