Christus Surrexit. Maybe you'd better delete that Latin, so-called "LSP" unless you want a 4 am knock on the door by the DEI SWAT Team. That in mind, this commentary's in English, from St. John Chrysostom:
Yes indeed, Christ has risen,
Christus Surrexit. Maybe you'd better delete that Latin, so-called "LSP" unless you want a 4 am knock on the door by the DEI SWAT Team. That in mind, this commentary's in English, from St. John Chrysostom:
A soldier called me up today, "So you've got these pseudepigrapha, (he's become all exegete) how can we tell what's real in the Biblical text?" Resisting the temptation to dam his impudence I answered honestly, "You see, son, what happened was a lot of German atheists got together in the nineteenth century and tried to show us the Bible wasn't true, because its text comes from different sources."
As in, "Oh my, I can't believe in Christianity because Matthew borrowed from Mark! My faith is ruined and now I must become a Marxist and celebrate trans weddings!" Pathetic. I told the boy, "Hold fire, the people who set the canon of scripture knew the people who knew the people who witnessed the acts therein. It has apostolic and therefore Christ's authority."
He liked this and to be sure, it's a good apologetic, but of course we've moved on. No one's arguing about the veracity of Christ and his message of salvation, not least the various Churches. On the contrary, they just ignore it and all in the name of The Science and, obviously, cash. Look at them.
A whirling cesspool of demonic corruption in the heart of our nation's governance. Out demons out? And then some, but we know the outcome. Whether this includes the ancient if rapidly declining Church of England is another matter again.
Your Pal,
LSP
Serious question, do you trust beloved rulers, people like Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland? Here, have a look at her before Satan claimed his own:
Nuland's considered one of the architects of our current proxy war on Russia. You might think this war a very good thing but if so, do you really want to be aligned with Nuland and her friends?
To put it another way, are you on the side of the Deep State MIC (Military Industrial Complex) and its allies, or not? You know, the very same people who rigged an election against 45 who, weirdly, didn't start any wars.
Your call, readers. And remember, we build, they destroy.
Every time,
LSP
Many years ago I sat at a table of good bishops, real bishops, bishops that weren't and aren't afraid to stand for Gospel truth and apostolic teaching. One of them suggested I apply for for a position in London, as a kind of force multiplier, perhaps.
The Rt. Rev. Jack Iker looked a bit nonplussed and I replied, "Your Lordship, I suggest a new diocesan recruitment strategy." He raised a quizzical if professional eyebrow and I continued, unashamed, "It goes like this. Can't shoot, can't ride, can't fish, can't get in." Wisdom, do you not think?
But by all means feel free to disagree and bet against the Monkey and devil take the hinder.
Your Old Pal,
LSP
Imagine there's no countries beyond the reach of GRU, nothing to kill or die for, no religions too, thank you SMERSH. Imagine all the people, living life in peace, yoo hoo. As Assad/Putinist sleeper cells kick off in La Belle France.
Dam, behold the Kadyrov Jihad in the beautiful garden that was once France. But this is ridiculous, the Garden did it all to itself. Or did it? Pan to Spetsnaz and guess what? Our erstwhile President was a Kremlin spy. So.
Seriously, if you were Russkie would you let this opportunity go to waste?
Best,
LSP
The first part of the day was all about lawyers guns and money and that was OK. Here in this bucolic sector of the North Central Texas Exclusion Zone (NCTEZ) you can pretty much walk everywhere to do your business.
And what do you see as you stroll along the leafy boulevards of Old Tejas? All the debris of our increasingly barbarous modern age. Weaves, dime bags, broken toys, and Bud Light cans hurled away in disgust to lie abandoned in the gutter.
This town used to be 20,000 people strong back when cotton was king and now it's around 7,000, a growing majority of which are Hispanic. This will certainly increase and what does it mean? Any number of things, not least: I need to learn Spanish, like no kidding.
Being able to celebrate the Mass in Spanish, albeit not very well, is a good first step but obviously not a final solution. Honing up the "habla" and getting a bilingual deacon from the diocese would take things to a different level, let's get on that.
But looking over the horizon, what's caused us to commit demographic suicide, and we're doing exactly that. Keen-eyed readers will note Rome, with all its grandeur, had a similar problem. They stopped having children and imported barbarians to fill the gap.
Here that means Catholics, who are by no means friends of the Rainbow. In Europe, at least the UK, it mostly means Mohammedans, and they hate the Rainbow too. How this works out is anyone's guess but I'll wager the monkey on conflict, and thank God we're dealing with a Catholic instead of Moslem replacement.
Tempted to bang on but won't, you'll note this little town has machine shops. America's known for that, and riflemen, kudos.
Hold The Line,

After spirited, uplifting Sunday worship we ended up at Fort Hood's training grounds. Well, one of the entrances to the thing, and there it was, big Texas under a big sky and enough space for big Army III Corps to do its not inconsiderable thing, and then some.
The kid's proud to be part of that and fair play to him, I would be too, "Look, dad, this is where we ruck, and check out the 15 yard sight-in ranges, dead on at 300." Several motor pool drive-bys and a pit stop for food later we landed at the home of 57th Expeditionary Signals BN (Enhanced) and that was that, "Train hard, think positive, fight easy," I offered by way of UKLF inspirational cozy farewell, and was met with a grin.
What a good result and what a good Sunday. The Sacred Mysteries offered, ite missa est, a son fast becoming a man under the watchful and doubtless patient eyes of good Command, thank you NCOs and Officers, and Fort Hood itself. Great result.
Next time I'll visit some of the post's museums, stay tuned.
God bless,
LSP
Seeing as how LSPland's full of surprises, I drove out to meet a photographer this morning. He shoots on land and in the air, with a drone. And what a good young guy; he left the Army after an IED messed up his back on his second tour in Afghanistan.
He rebounded well, others much less so. Were we right to go Big Army there and fight yet another war we weren't prepared to win? To put it another way, was my photographic friend's back worth it? I won't bang on but people who know far more about this kind of thing than I will ever do say no.
Mission accomplished, I drove to Waco. Movement, says the Philosopher is a sign of life. And what life it was, there on China Springs Road, complete with a strip mall and everything. Totally different than, say, where I live. All very stranger in a strange land. Don't get me wrong, not necessarily bad, just different, sitting there under the cerulean.
An old pal broke my strip mall reverie, texting in from LA where he's doing some kind of music thing, "Up early. Blast in hotel gym then mile run. I might be turning LA. If I start drinking wheatgrass smoothies I'll send an SOS. Stage an intervention."
Yes indeed, be careful out there, fella. But in the meanwhile, all's well in Texas and thank God for that.
Your Old Friend,
LSP
