Halloween Scary

I'd imagine many of you think Halloween is Satan's birthday, but you'd be wrong in thinking that. No, Halloween is the Eve of All Saints, a Feast which marks the victory of God, of light over darkness in the sanctified lives of His holy people. But that's for tomorrow, in the meanwhile, the demons are allowed to play. And what a play they make.

Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here

Here in this small Texan rural community they mostly run around asking for candy, many it seems in the safe space of 1st Baptist car park. A living parable of the world around us, perhaps. Here, let me leave you with something scary. Maybe you remember all that "joy."

Best Music Review - Ever

Mia and Juliet knocked it out of the park and made the best music review ever, of Blue Oyster Cult's classic if haunting hit, Don't Fear The Reaper. They love this song, rightfully. Here, check it out:

A few takeaways: "Soothing... the music was astounding... the guitar? Beautiful... the tempo changed... wolf in sheep's clothing... once the wolf gets among the sheeps... shows his true colors... I love it... a siren... versatile... ohhhh!... it sounded so beautiful! I loved it so much, it made my night... the music was astounding... perfect."

Yes, perfect. Mia and Juliet, you are always welcome here at the Compound and the DLC Mess, unlike the repellent Sting or Madonna, but in the meanwhile, thanks PA for the tip and as always...

Spooky

Have you heard of the Anti Defamation League, the ADL? Sure you have, it was set up in 1913 to protect Jews from discrimination, prescient. So what a good thing it's still going strong and continuing to guide our great society in the ways of justice, tolerance and truth. That's why it's educating us, the serfs, to cut out Halloween racism and, appalled drum roll, "gender norms."

Sting

More precisely, “Halloween is a week away and you and your family might be brainstorming costume ideas,” the ADL tweeted on Sunday. “Check out our resource for reminders about how and why to avoid cultural appropriation, cultural stereotypes, and costumes that perpetuate gender norms.”

The Genius of Sting

Check out our resource? I think not, but Gender norms; Reflect for a moment on the sheer, oppressive evil of boys wearing boy costumes and girls likewise. Wow. What violent, Nazi, racism. As if your biology should have anything to do with your gender. Such utter, regressive bigotry.

The knife of Sting

Yes, it's appalling. So thank God Scotland's National Theater's dropped the word "spook." This, our northern thespians assure us is racist, a term used to describe pilots of color (POC). Outrageous, no more spooky, that's banned. Along with freedom of the press, association and movement, the press, religion and everything else our killjoy, corporate sponsored, neo-Marxists don't like. My take?

Just say no. And keep saying it all the way to the polls, which may or may not mean anything at this point. After that? One step beyond, my friends.

Halloween Fright Night

It's Halloween, All Hallows Eve, the last night that demons and wicked spirits are allowed to roam the earth before being vanquished by the Saints. So we bring you horror.

Halloween

Some say that Halloween is Satan's birthday but it's not, it's All Hallows Eve or the Eve of All Saints. This means that kids get to run around dressed as goblins and ask for candy before they're vanquished by the saints the next day.

Here at the Compound we're all in favor of the celebration but don't make the bad mistake of giving the little trick-or-treaters comsymp, globalist, NWO, Illuminati cabal ice cream. It's not good for them. Give the young 'uns a tasty pez instead.

Speaking of Halloween, it used to be customary for people to play games of divination and attempt to foretell the future. How will that turn out?

We know the broad sweep of things, the forces of hell are defeated by the hosts of heaven. Such is the ultimate end but in the midterm, someone please lock her up.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday! Pumpkin Carving

Bushcraft isn't about relying on Nanny State to do it all for you. No, it's about getting out in the bush and crafting it yourself.

In this short infovideo, Hickok45 shows us how it's done, Halloween style.

Here at the Compound we hope you find this short "how-to" film as useful as we do.

Change, adapt, survive.

Very, Very Scary

Two friends came over from Dallas yesterday and stayed over. One of them brought along a SOCOM 16, which is a short barreled variant of the M1A, and we wanted to test that out and see if it worked. So, undaunted by rain, we headed out to a ranch where there's a good area to blast away in the wilderness.

You can even access this range via rocky roads, in your pal's new Tundra. No danger of getting stuck in the mud, right?

Well Done, Team

Wrong. We got stuck in thick sandy clay. An hour later, and lots of rocks under the tires, we were out of the mess and shooting. The SOCOM worked just fine, a right little beast of a 7.62 barker.

Proper Little Barker

On the way home, one the crew had to ask, "How many soldiers, former and serving, does it take to get stuck in the mud?" That would be three, apparently.

Moral of the story? Get a SOCOM, and a winch, and a 4x4.

Happy Halloween,

Halloween

Skullmug

A church person once told me that Halloween was Satan's birthday. I tried to explain that it's just the Eve of all Hallows, the first night of the Triduum of All Saints, when Christians remember the faithful departed and the Saints. She wasn't buying. For her, Halloween was just a paean to Old Scratch.

This goof supports gay marriage because he's conservative, apparently.

Others think that Halloween isn't about the faithful departed, God, Satan, or anything else. They think it's Celtic. Some people have convinced themselves that the Celts were all about gay marriage, a bit like David Cameron but more tribal.

Scary As You Like

I won't comment, but I will leave you with a picture of a famous witch stateswoman; people are saying that she'll be President one day. Pretty scary, eh?

God bless,

Ride On & Halloween Isn't Satan's Birthday

August was a good month for riding, which is strange because of the heat, but September and October were a bit of a bust. I foolishly didn't make the time. But that's changing now.

I was pleased to see that JB's put on some weight and was easy to catch, tack up and mount. We went for an easygoing ride around the 10 acre pasture she lives in, just walking with an occasional Western trot with lots of practice moving in a controlled way around mesquites and various trails.

She did well, with good, willing response to leg and seat. I was pleased with that and it reminded me that riding's good for mind, soul and body. It also means a pastoral visit to parishioners, which is no bad thing either.

Downright Scary

Speaking of bad, some people think that Halloween is Satan's birthday. That's not true, it's the eve of All Saints.

Saints, pray for us,

Halloween

Contrary to popular opinion, tonight isn't Satan's birthday, it's the Eve of All Saints, or "Hallows". I pray they intercede for us all.

Reports that The Episcopal Church is run by a gang of devil clowns are entirely without substance.

Cheers,
