Halloween

Contrary to popular opinion, tonight isn't Satan's birthday, it's the Eve of All Saints, or "Hallows". I pray they intercede for us all.

Reports that The Episcopal Church is run by a gang of devil clowns are entirely without substance.

Cheers,

LSP

And of course, is just a take-over of an entirely natural season-marking and pre-existing pagan festival (Samhain) where the light months give way to the dark, as winter approaches.

Good old Samhain. Let's stay clear of human sacrifice, GT.

No, no, no.
The human sacrifice was supposedly at Mid-Winter (Dec 21 in today's reckoning)

There seems to be a bit of confusion on that score, GT, with some sources saying "human sacrifice" on Oct 31 and others suggesting a simple offering of "animal bones" with the human variant offered up later.

Well, who knows. We don't have a huge amount to go on; still, what we do have doesn't cast the druids in a very positive light...
