Guns

"So why do you support the 2nd Amendment?" asked a betasoy reporter from the laughable Dallas Morning Morning News. I replied, quick as a flash, mind like a veritable steel trap, "Because freedom," and off he wandered into the untamed jungle of a gun show.

Truck Gun

Seriously, isn't the ability to defend yourself one of the hallmarks of a free society? Sure, we pass that on to the State and the police, but what happens when they turn against you, which of course has never happened ever in the history of ever.

Just Some Guns

More than that, why should some kind of nanny state be precisely that, a nanny treating its citizens as toddlers in a transsexual kindergarten. No guns for you, infants, you might hurt zhirself! So put on three masks and get vaxxed so you'll be all safe, until you die of a heart attack or worse from an experimental gene serum foisted on you by Big Pharma and agitprop MSM.

Typical Pistols

Likewise, why should we hand over, as though it was a good thing, our existence and well-being to a secular state run by an ultra rich transnational elite which regards us as so many pawns/dirtpeople/untermensch to be sacrificed on the altar of their power. Why indeed.

What's with the fancy coat, so-called "LSP"?

In this country we're blessed by the Founding Fathers who put the right to bear arms into the DNA of America, a very difficult stone to dislodge. And for those attempting to do so, a rifleman behind every blade of grass.

Shoot The Glock

So you get up, shower, say your prayers, walk the dog and buy a coffee from the local pick 'n steal, then you visit the sick; congratulations, you're on task, but what next?  Get out in the field and shoot, obviously.

I chose a Glock 21 because I like it, you might favor another weapon, like a .357 Magnum and that's fine. There's no rule.

Targets were simple. A steel turkey at around 50 yards, steel plates at 25 and a Gatorade bottle wherever I felt like putting it. Fine, but did I still know how to shoot? Good question.

In the end, yes, but it took about half a box of cheap Federal .45 ACP to get back in the swing of things. BOOM. Tink. Down goes the turkey and BOOM, take that, Gatorade bottle as you fly through the air. The steel plates met their match too, once I'd warmed up. Boom, tink, swing.

Satisfying and, for me at least, exciting. There's something about the explosive power of a handgun that gets the adrenaline up, big fun. Still, if you plan on hitting your target you'd better practice. I reminded myself of that today.

Of course all this is banned in England, but not to worry, Brits. Nanny State will protect you.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday! Pumpkin Carving

Bushcraft isn't about relying on Nanny State to do it all for you. No, it's about getting out in the bush and crafting it yourself.

In this short infovideo, Hickok45 shows us how it's done, Halloween style.

Here at the Compound we hope you find this short "how-to" film as useful as we do.

Change, adapt, survive.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

In our complex and artificial society, some would call it an anti-society, it's easy to lose track of the way things really are, it's easy to get out of tune with nature. That's where Bushcraft steps in.

Bushcraft is all about doing it yourself, in the bush, in the woods; it's about getting back to nature and rediscovering your connection to the way things really are, without modern conveniences like shopping malls and the Nanny State.

Being able to read the signs of the woods is a part of this rediscovery, and here at the Compound we hope you find this infovideo as helpful as we do.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

So you're out there in the bush, using your craft, and you need an axe. In fact you need a battle tomahawk, but you can't climb into the Audi and run off to REI, or wherever, and buy one. That defeats the point, because Bushcraft is all about doing it yourself, without supermarkets, overpriced gear stores and Nanny State looking over your shoulder. So what do you do?

Forge a WAR-HAWK out of an old ball peen hammer. Here at the Compound, we're delighted to share this useful how-to video from Becker Forge.

Throw that Axe,

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

The thing about bushcraft is it's all about living and surviving in the wild, in the "bush," and doing it yourself instead of relying on nanny state or the nearest supermarket to sort it out for you. That applies to Christmas, and Hickok45 has given us a helpful video to show how it's done.

Notice how everyone's favorite outdoorsman uses the right tool for the job.

Dwarf Gnome Shill

I hate to ruin your Sunday evening by posting this picture, but I will say this. Don't pretend to be some kind of impartial journalist when all you really are is a Dwarf Gnome Shill for our elite limo-lib, statist overlords.

That is all.

Say No To Nanny

Found this picture on the excellent Free Canuckistan site and thought it amusing, so what can we say but Free Mark Steyn.

Busy trying to catch up on the news and clarify thoughts on the recent Apostolic Constitution for Anglican converts to Rome but more of that anon. In the meanwhile, badly in need of a good fix of Horse & Gun.
