Blue State, Heather Cook

I was woken up this morning by a strange rustling, as though something was being shaken. I thought, half-awake, that a squirrel had gotten into the house. But no, it was just Blue, shaking my duffel and staring at me.

I looked at him and he looked at me and then proceeded to wag the arm of my coat, which was hanging off the back of a chair. I got the message and a cup of tea (hot) and Morning Prayer later, there I was, walking the dog in the semi-freezing drizzle of the new Ice Age, brought on, ironically enough, by Global Warming.

Typical Global Warming

Roosting dove flew out of the trees along our path with a great sound of wings and it was good to be in this country town.

Heather Cook

In other news, the scandal-plagued assistant Bishop of Maryland has been indicted on 13 charges, ranging from automobile manslaughter to negligent driving. I feel sorry for her, much as I scorn the monstrous regiment of priestesses. I feel more sorry for the man she killed.

It's all Bush's fault, of course.

Cheers,

LSP

At least you are able to point fingers squarely where they belong. Global warming is clearly bringing on a new ice age and all death (attributable to all apparent causes) is the fault of George W. Bush.

Oh yes. Bush made it hotter, which is why it's so cold now and we don't have world peace.

I'm sure that she will take her incarceration as a sign that the poor schmuck was supposed to die at her hands - now that she's surrounded by other lesbians in the Maryland State Prison System, waiting to hear the word.

You never know, Heather Cook may find a new life partner in prison. Many do...

Daniel J. Webster has recently come out of hiding to speak publicly on behalf of Bishop Sutton after he was outed on the Baltimore Brew. Webster is canon for evangelism and ministry development in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. He is also a former journalist and media spin himself. He also arranged for his wife's (Meredith Gould) private company to be hired by Bishop Eugene Sutton as a "communications consultant." She has been posting rabidly on social media defending Bishops Jefferts Schori and Bishop Sutton, the two bishops who knew Cook was an alcoholic prior to her ordination and still ordained her themselves. Canon Dan Webster himself, according to a public posting by Gould, has been secretly in contact with Michelle Borstein of the Washington Post to influence her writing of the stories. Neither disclosed that. Gould also did not disclose that she was being paid by Bishop Sutton for her postings, not did Bishop Sutton ever inform his congregation he was paying a private media spin company.
A few years ago Canon Dan Webster wrote the following as Director of Communications for the Episcopalian Diocese of Utah some years ago: "It is about power and control. It is about “doing it my way.” It has little to do with biblical orthodoxy and apostasy. It comes down to winners and losers. As Anglicans, it probably should be no surprise if we look at our history. Murder, assassination, trials, incarceration, slander, mayhem have all been used to resolve internal church disputes." http://www.thewitness.org/agw/...
This is the current predicament ordinary Episcopalians find themselves in.

I think, LL, that you may have clairvoyant power...

That's an interesting story, Anonymous. Or, as some might say, the "plot thickens."

This is an example of how corrupt Bishop Jefferts Schori and Bishop Sutton are. Read read this comment that Meredith Gould posted a year ago on YouTube as a response to Heather Cook's campaign message to become a bishop:
"Terrific message, well delivered, Heather. Working with you on behalf of the Episcopal Diocese of Easton was both pleasure and privilege. I appreciated your vision, your willingness to explore new ways of reaching and, most of all, your extraordinary ability to provide pastoral care to this communications consultant. All blessings to you. Wish I were a voting member of the EDOM!"

This shows that Bishop Sutton's "crisis manager" knew Heather Cook well, worked with her in the past, may well have known she was a raging alcoholic and illicit drug user, and supported her to become Bishop. This "crisis manager" was grateful for "pastoral care" received from an alcoholic and illegal drug user.
Bishop Jefferts Schori and Bishop Sutton really do need to remove their wall of media spin experts and come out and be honest and transparent about their roles in promoting a drunk to bishop.

Blue has the appearance of wisdom...

"Honest and transparent"? I'd wager that was unlikely. But I might have to quote you.
