It was bound to happen and now it has. The venerable if shrinking Church of England's second in command, Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell told General Synod that the Lord's Prayer was "problematic."
Why would that be? According to Cottrell, it's because some people have had difficult relationships with their fathers and others again "have laboured rather too much from an oppressively patriarchal grip on life."
There you have it. Jesus got it wrong, he condoned abusive, oppressive patriarchal imagery and, per Cottrell, it's about time we changed all that. But if Christ got it wrong, what kind of God is he? Not much of one if at all and that's just it, these people don't believe in the God they pretend to worship.
Same thing, come to think of it, on wimmyn priests. Not ordaining them was unjust and evil. Jesus didn't ordain them... I leave you, the reader, to complete the unholy syllogism.

He is equating my, or anyones relationship with their Dad as somehow the same as one Jesus had with God the father? There is no comparison. The Lords Prayer is beautiful. And perfect. To find some false fault in it is a reach.

From now on, any CoE or Epsicopal minister or bishop or other religious-type person who even entertains this or actually believes this needs to be sent back to religious school. Preferably at some far mountain monastery that's cut off from all modern conveniences and connections. For at least 60 years.
The Lord is the Supreme Father. Is He 'male' as in XY chromosomes? Dunno. Who cares. He is He. Doesn't matter what his actual form is. He is. That's it.
Any of my Sunday School teachers would probably go all holy roller on their buttocks for spouting such drivel.
As to the alien picture, reminds me of "Quarterman and the Pit" or "5 Million Years to Earth" as it was called in the US. An excellent Hammer Studios horror flick that really was/is scary.

I need to see about buying a copy of that movie. Seen it 3 times and every time it gave me the willies and nightmares for weeks.

The beautiful and most perfect prayer, the 'Our Father', was given to us by Our Lord himself. How dare these frauds find fault with it. The one in Rome, pretending to be Pope, probably agrees with them.
Oh, the original "The Wickerman" was quite a good spooky movie.
It's the weird grasshopper thingies that got me in "5 Million." Too close to some figures/images in the Indian and Persian rugs that I grew up with while doing some mind-altering allergy meds. Seriously bloody trips where I'd get sucked into the carpets and chased by all the woven figures. Some of which looked like giant grasshopper alien thingies.

The Catholic Church isn't far behind the Anglican church with the nonsense. And then they wonder why church attendance is cratering.
But in a way this reinforces my faith. Name one institution of purely human origin that could last 2000 years with such constant scandal and led more often than not by idiots.
That it could survive this only shows the divine origin of the church.
I pray decades of the rosary most nights and I double down when the pain won’t let me sleep. The only change I might make is when I substitute “do not put us to the test” for lead us not into temptation because I some times fear that I could in an extremely e end the pain permanently. So I pray for the grace to endure as Christ endured. I understand that along the line Pope Francis questioned the need to have the “lead us not into temptation” clause because God wouldn’t lead us into temptation but in asking His Son Jesus to suffer the Cross for us as well as the temptations on the mountain from Satan it is plain that He expects us to also suffer and because we are not Devine some times fait. He gave us the Cross to make up for our failure and will give us the grace to do better if we ask! Christ explained fatherhood as the father who killed the fatted lamb to celebrate his son returning.

Christ's relationship with his Father reveals true fatherhood and rescues our deficient approximation. These frauds don't see that because they don't believe.
Beans, Viz. Father: He has revealed Himself to us as such and so we believe. We pause for a moment and see it makes sense, He is infinite ACT.
If there's a feminine principle in the Trinity it's the Son, who responds to the Father's love. But guess what, He's revealed to us as the SON. Why? Because He's in act towards us and creation.
He creates, he reveals, he saves in his unfathomable love and mercy towards us. I won't get down in the philisophic weeds, we get the point, He is the Groom, the Church is His bride.
Our apostate friends don't see this, it is hidden from them.

But right, I've preached on that theme too, positive proof for the divine institution of the the thing. By all earthly reckoning the Church should've ceased to exist long ago.
Anon, what a holy thought. And it's true, though hard; we're told to "take up your cross and follow me" all the way to Calvary.
How easy to say, how hard to do! And when it's forced on us by suffering no less easy, but the Saints see it and even rejoice in their union with the Cross, from which springs resurrection and new life, starting here and consummated in heaven.
Keep praying that rosary and find solace and strength. I'll pray for you, do for me.
