Listen Up Heathen

Via Adrienne:

After a speech, pro-life activist Penny Lea was approached by an old man. Weeping, he told her the following story:

"I lived in Germany during the Nazi holocaust. I considered myself a Christian. I attended church since I was a small boy. We had heard the stories of what was happening to the Jews, but like most people today in this country, we tried to distance ourselves from the reality of what was really taking place. What could anyone do to stop it?

A railroad track ran behind our small church, and each Sunday morning we would hear the whistle from a distance and then the clacking of the wheels moving over the track. We became disturbed when one Sunday we noticed cries coming from the train as it passed by. We grimly realized that the train was carrying Jews. They were like cattle in those cars!

Week after week that train whistle would blow. We would dread to hear the sound of those old wheels because we knew that the Jews would begin to cry out to us as they passed our church. It was so terribly disturbing! We could do nothing to help these poor miserable people, yet their screams tormented us. We knew exactly at what time that whistle would blow, and we decided the only way to keep from being so disturbed by the cries was to start singing our hymns. By the time that train came rumbling past the church yard, we were singing at the top of our voices. If some of the screams reached our ears, we'd just sing a little louder until we could hear them no more. Years have passed and no one talks about it much anymore, but I still hear that train whistle in my sleep. I can still hear them crying out for help. God forgive all of us who called ourselves Christians, yet did nothing to intervene."

"Their screams tormented us... If some of their screams reached our ears we'd just sing a little louder."

Read the whole thing here.

A chilling tale, Parson. Our Founders knew and understood power, and the effect it has on people. The put in as many cross-checks and controls into our Founding Documents, and they're written in "Plain Speaking English", and are quite clear on the allowed powers of the U.S. Government.

My Father always blamed FDR for starting us down the road to serfdom, but I think the foundations were laid earlier, by Woodrow Wilson and the "progressive" policies he introduced.

Goes to show a lot of people never had "proper fetchings". As for me, I will die on my feet before I live on my knees.

And as people are herded into Covid camps by force, etc., too many Americans will do precisely the same thing.

Saw a meme elsewhere that was a photo of one of Hitler's Nürnberg rallies, with the caption "How could they do that? They must have been brainwashed".

Obvious point taken.

I was stationed in Nürnberg in the mid-70's. I made it a point to go to that empty stadium and stand where where Hitler stood, for a host of reasons, not the least of which was I owed it to those who had gone before me.

Thank you, LSP.

@drjim - absolutely 100% correct. It started with Wilson. Well, actually, it started with Adam, but who wants to go back that far. My conservative parents hated Wilson, but really hated FDR. They recognized the problems with both.

@RPJ - unfortunately, you're correct. I went to Wallyworld after 7:30 Mass this morning and it was like walking around in the infectious disease ward of a major hospital. Who knew there were so many sick people in the world having to wear a rag on their face. I did meet a nice un-masked couple in the produce section (major Trump supporters.) That's the only up side of the masks - you can quickly identify the enemies.

@RHT447 I made it a point to go to that empty stadium and stand where where Hitler stood, for a host of reasons, not the least of which was I owed it to those who had gone before me. What a lovely thing to do.

I think you're right, drjim. Don't say Federal Reserve Act.

Right on, WSF.

I wish you were mistaken, N.
