Hope you're all prepped up and ready to "bug-in" or go "innawoods" because it's staring to get nasty, in a small way.
People are getting robbed of their TP in parking lots in Washington state and the UK, so WA shoppers are going armed to the supermarket. UK people aren't because they're not allowed to defend themselves. Find the cost of freedom, eh?
Here in Hill County Texas, a big fight broke out at Walmart as pastoral people set to scrapping over frozen pizzas, bottled water and Ramen noodles. I missed the fight, annoyingly, but you could see the tension building before Noon.
Over in Aberystwyth the shelves were bare of pasta, "Andrex," and assorted everything else. Calgary, as of today, had run out of milk.
Message to market? Bring the supply chain home. Have a month's supply of food so you don't have to get into a fight at Walmart. Don't hoard loo-roll, the Bat Bug isn't dysentery. Don't hoard water, the Kung Flu isn't Cholera. And on.
Above all, STAND STEADY. You're no use to man nor beast if you don't. Go armed to Walmart if you aren't already. And on a spiritual note, pray for our country tomorrow, it's a National Day of Prayer. Do not ever downplay the efficacy of that.

Even before this insanity, a lot of the stores around here were requesting that you not carry. We often did.
One of these days we should probably get our concealed carry permits.
But yes, the lame stream media and worthless demonrats (and some "conservatives") are making people crazy.
Where was all the insanity during the last seven or ten flu-demics?
B"H, the supermarket near where I live was stripped, but it was an uneven stripping.
Interestingly, as of yesterday, aside from bananas being gone fruits and vegetables were still well-stocked. The paper aisle was stripped bare, still. Pasta, still there but much reduced.
Meanwhile, I filled one 5 gallon can of gasoline and have to do another today. As long as the power remains on we're in fine shape.
I half expect my cousins in MA to call me to ask to come up. My reply? "No". Not because I couldn't fit them in, but it's the Ant & Grasshopper lesson. FOR YEARS I've been telling them to have extra food - 2-3 weeks (I mean really, that's a couple of cases of soup and a bag or two of rice... not high cuisine but perfectly suitable to keep body and soul together). Nope, won't do it ("Why, I can always run over to the store"!). If crime starts, well, they've been voting "D" reliably all their lives and for gun control... sorry, you're disarmed in the face of predators? You've made your bed.
Mass at 8 with only a single element!!! We didn't even do that during the Black Death or Great Plague.
We really have lots of food, but I miss popping into the grocery store. I actually like to go to the store. And................horrors, the bakery always has opened containers of cookies and donut pieces right behind the counter you can grab for free. No more. Now - that's a sad state of affairs.
For those who live paycheck to paycheck, it must be agonizing. Food or beer? No shortage of beer at the local food store.
Went shopping today. Rice, beans, pasta still cleaned out. NO paper products whatsoever. Fruits and veggies still aplenty, including bananas unlike last time.
I just had a few things to get. Eggs were cleaned out too, alas - our family goes through a lot of them. Got everything else though.
Here in South Carolina, there is a run on Mountain Dew.
Linda, be safe, and yes. Where was all the hysteria previously? Tbh, I think we're dealing with something new here, not least lies from ChiCom. This adds an extra level of... uncertainty.
And for sure, carry away. Smart.

WSF, the mind boggles. I, for one, would've been stockpiling beer and wine. For months. As it stands -- booze aisles fully stocked. Bread, cleaning & paper products out, canned goods steady at present.
This will change in the next week, I'll wager, not that I'm a betting man.
Charity, yes, but as I learned, "Charity without injury to yourself".
Like I said, I've been preaching having a 2-3 week stock for YEARS to these people.
I, too, have a feeling it's going to get worse - hopefully not for too long. Anyway, off to the gas station to fill up more 5 gal gas cans.
The scary part for me is that, as prepared as we are - and better than 95% of the population, I'd wager - I'm still not where I'd truly like to be.
I was showing pics of the local cleaned-out supermarket to one of my in-laws. They, too, are having panic buying.
RPJ -- sorry about the eggs. Don't you have a neighbor with a chicken operation? Seriously, you must.
In the meanwhile, I'm going armed to the stores.
