Gurkhas!

Some say the British Army's dead and buried beneath cuts, the thudding hooves of the rainbow unicorn and BBC, Islington millionaire socialism. But that's not entirely true.

The Brigade of Gurkhas, dam its colonialist soul, has had its largest intake of recruits in over three decades. You might enjoy their passing out parade.

Open borders, all six of you readers, is a qualified thing.

Trudeau And Trump Go India

On the one hand we have this, and on the other we have this.

Sinister? Let's zoom in.

Quite the Indian, eh? Here's some video.

Oh Canada,

LSP

Ash Wednesday 2020

Memento, homo, quia pulvis es et in pulverem reverteris — Remember, O Man, that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust all brought into stark relief as we kneel to receive an ashen cross on our foreheads. No, fool, you're not a God, you're mortal and destined to return to the earth from which you came.

Remember, the memento mori is cruciform, in the shape of the same Cross which defeated death by death. Here we find life, our mortality shot through and transformed by eternity.

So Good Friday lives within Ash Wednesday and with it the green pastures and flowing waters of paradise, of the empty tomb and Easter. O death, where is thy sting? Still, before we dare claim the victory we must ally ourselves with it, or rather the Victor himself. And so to Lent.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all those who are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wishing you all a holy and blessed penitential season,

Behold The Glory Of The Raj

Richard Wellesley famously said that India needed to be governed from a palace instead of a country house. That happened and the President of India lives there today.

President Trump and America's First Lady were welcomed to Rashtrapati Bhavan by a ceremonial guard of honor and a 21 gun salute. The spirit of the Raj loomed large and you have to wonder at the thing; the Mall, Rotten Row, an Edwardian Baroque Blenheim Palace (?) and the Cotswolds all supersized and rolled in with India to fit the dignity of their Imperial Majesties and Viceroy.

So 45 was welcomed by Lancers, yes they still exist, Gurkhas and a formation made up of members from the three services. Stirring, at least for me, at every level. But was anything missing?

Yes, surely Trump and the First Lady would've looked better in uniform and in a carriage, more in keeping with their cavalry escort than the Beast, awesome as that is. Also, and it's a big also, the Viceroy wasn't there because there isn't one.

Too bad, Great Britain, for not realizing the Commonwealth vision that could have been and might still be. In the meanwhile, well done President Trump and Melania for flying the flag and keeping America great. Well done India too, for such a welcome.

Melania Mondays! India Special

America's popular and glamorous First Lady turned heads and dazzled in white from the moment she stepped off Airforce One, on the first day of the presidential visit to India.

She beamed as her husband was welcomed by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then went on to receive thunderous applause at the Sardar Patel Stadium.

"It was utterly epic and the First Lady was radiant," stated one observer, "The only thing missing was the Viceroy and the Indian Army General Staff, standing in the background with stern approval. Sadly those days are gone. For now."

Rally over, the First Lady visited the Taj Mahal, where she stood with her husband before the monument to love. But Melania's nothing if not practical and took time out to inspect a simple peasant loom.

Melania, honorary Colonel of the Dallas Light Cavalry (Irreg.), continues to tour of India with her husband. Here at the Compound we'd like to thank our First Lady for doing her not inconsiderable best to make and keep America great.

Nemaste,

On This Day

Total Respect.

LSP

A Sunday Reflection

"LSP, two wild dogs killed my cat, I saw it! They just marched straight up on my porch, shook Baxter like a rag and ran back off. It was the burnished one that did it.

"So if you're going to set up on the porch and go to work you better get out and carry a gun, and shoot the hell outta them! And don't you leave that Blue on his own on the porch, they'll be fixing to kill that poor baby like they did my Baxter."

I know the "burnished one" and his scraggly sidekick. They're a pair of Meth Shack strays who roam the sylvan boulevards of this rural haven, making a menace of themselves. I also know that Blue Ferox could take them even though he's blind, and that they run when I tell them to git! I did not say this to Miss R, I did say, "Yes, Ma'am."

Cat killers aside, Mass went well at the Missions today with everyone in high pre-Lenten spirits. We considered the Transfiguration in the Gospel, and here's a short sermon in the form of a Collect:

O God, who before the passion of thy only-begotten Son
didst reveal his glory upon the holy mount: Grant unto us
that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may
be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his
likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ
our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

God bless,

Apocalypse China And Everywhere Else

By now we all know the Coronavirus has reached Europe, with some 50,000 people quarantined in Northern Italy. Good luck Lombardy, to say nothing of Iran, Lebanon, South Korea, Japan and everywhere else. This thing obviously isn't contained, but what about here in the US?

Rod Dreher writing at American Conservative quotes, at length, an American doctor whose Chinese wife is keyed into apocalyptic conditions in her homeland, where they're running out of medicine. The doctor slams the "elites" of "both parties" who've "failed and betrayed" us. Read on:

Now: to what is going on in the USA...
And as a physician, the first instances of medication shortages are now happening in earnest. A memo from the hospital’s pharmacy committee arrived yesterday. It specifically named the following drugs – IV antibiotics such as gentamicin, tobramycin and streptomycin – IV drips from the ICU dobutamine, dopamine, and norepinephrine – and the following pill medications – diltiazem, verapamil, amlodipine, losartan, valsartan and irbesartan. Also mentioned were all of the usual narcotic opioids used for pain – morphine, dilaudid, hydrocodone and fentanyl among others. The memo stated that while there was stock in the hospital on all of these at this moment — the intermediate suppliers had sent warnings that supplies were quickly diminishing — and that further supplies from the manufacturer were not going to be reliable into the foreseeable future. Therefore, we were strongly urged to immediately begin making sure that every prescription was appropriate — and to replace it with something else if possible.

Well, some of these things are not replaceable. Some of them are — but with much more dangerous alternatives. And just try doing surgery without morphine — I dare you. All I can say is you have been warned. This is here — this is now and this is real and very likely to get much worse. Shipping all your critical drug manufacturing to another very unreliable country is so dumb that only the elites could have thought of it. And all you snowflakes thinking that we can just magically build factories here immediately — well you are oh so wrong. First of all — manufacturing drugs on a large scale takes immense engineering, and will not be done on a whim. Secondly, when we exported all our manufacturing away, all the jobs went away as well. There is a human know-how that is critical to this kind of enterprise, and that went away when the factories went to China. And it takes years — maybe decades — to get that back. MY FELLOW AMERICANS — YOU HAVE BEEN FAILED AND BETRAYED BY THE ELITES IN BOTH PARTIES – PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND IN THE COMING MONTHS.

YOU HAVE BEEN FAILED AND BETRAYED BY THE ELITES IN BOTH PARTIES – PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND IN THE COMING MONTHS.

You can and should read the whole thing here. Perhaps our traitorous, transnational, Illuminati, tasseled-loafer, club-chair-sitting, Mammon worshiping asset-strippers need to be brought to account. Did I say "nooses down the Mall"? No, you must've imagined it.

In the meanwhile, you are a fool if you haven't at least begun to lay in a month's worth of food, water, and necessary supplies. Look at it this way, if worst comes to worst and the escaped ChiCom bioweapon hits, say, Dallas in the next month you'll be able to eat. If it doesn't, well and good, you can cook up the food and shoot the ammo at leisure.

Pray this doesn't get any more out of hand, more on prepping for the Eschaton as the spirit moves.

Stay safe,

LSP

Behold Bloomberg Genius

Billionaire Mini-Mike Bloomberg isn't just paying for cringey text memes on Instagram, he's taking out ads on billboards. Look, here's one.

Uh Huh, 45's Doomed

Here's another.

And Now he's totally doomed, thanks to Mini's genius PR

Wow, 45's doomed. As you reflect on the sheer PR genius of Mini's campaign, stop and ask yourself why the Left can't meme.

It's weird, they've all been to art school, they're all super creative, they read the New York Times so they're obviously amazingly smart, and Mammon knows they've got the cash. Oh yes, in plenty. Maybe this helpful infovideo illustrates the blindingly obvious point.

So much money, Mini's got $60 billion alone, but they fall weirdly, jarringly short. Strange, right, could it be because these people have sold their souls to Satan?

Before you accuse the editorial staff at the Compound of sensationalist hyperbole, consider this. Every single one of the Democrat candidates for the presidency is in favor of abortion up to the point of birth, possibly beyond.

Perhaps it's hard to enlist humor in defense of the grinding evil of such a platform. D'ye think? In the meanwhile, congrats to Something Wicked.

Grab Em By The Pursey

Sometimes images are more powerful than words, and it's a weird fact that the Left, despite their massive advantage in, ahem, "art" school cred can't do it. What's wrong kids, commie caught your tongue?

Mini Mike Wishes He Was Taller

Like Adrienne, the Compound won't comment on last night's clownshow of a debate in which Mini-Mike got himself scalped by Liawatha and all the other commies. But we're delighted to offer this educational infovideo.

As one pundit put it, "Mini didn't get much for the $400 million. We could've done a lot more with that money, developed a world class hunting and fishing camp. Maybe buy a county in Wyoming." Yes, with a small but powerful Army, mounted, obviously.

Check out Tucker on Mini-Mike, if you haven't already. He thinks Mini's a direct threat to democracy. We're not so sure and refer you to the $400 million++ spent by this dwarven buffoon to look like... yes, a gilt-edged billionaire buffoon.

Meanwhile, 45's holding massive rallies.
