Black Cavalry

There I was in the front office, some call it a porch, when a troop of cavalry trotted by. Black cavalry, a stirring sight.

There were a few outliers, some ambled along at a walk.

Others at something like an extended trot.

And others again at a bareback hand gallop.

I like everything about this and file it under "country life in Texas."

Ride on,

The World The Flesh And The Devil or The Faces Of Strzok

Our Holy Mother the Church teaches that we're in the midst of a spiritual battle against evil, against an unholy trinity of the World, the Flesh and the Devil. Is this true? Let's try a simple thought experiment to find out.

Imagine you're a top level FBI agent, charged by the nation to execute justice impartially. But you side with the money, power and vested interests of the World, let's call it the Deep State, and before you know it you're plotting to overthrow an elected President. Sound familiar?

Now think of all the plotting, scheming and intrigue you're locked into; you need relief, a companion, a soulmate, someone who isn't your wife. And there it is, the Flesh.

Then there's the Devil. But isn't that wicked spirit a figment of overheated medieval imagination? I'd argue that pictures tell a different story. So be on your guard, all three of you readers, against the World, the Flesh and the Devil.

Speaking of which, Rod "Weasel Goblin" Rosenstein's just announced that Russia somehow "hacked" the election. Surely the evil powers we're warned against wouldn't want to derail Trump's meeting with Putin. Or would they.

Out demons, out.

Thursday Evening Round Up

Thunder's booming and roaring overhead, the dog's asleep on a Moslem rug and you can smell the rain on the Texan wind.

Stormy The Prostitute

In other exciting news, Stormy The Prostitute was arrested, in a strip club no less and then released. Meanwhile, President Trump had the sheer, brazen, unashamedly fascist effrontery to suggest that the US taxpayer shouldn't pay for European defense; defense against what, the Kremlins?

May The Traitor

Trump's also slammed Britain's notorious traitor, Theresa May, for failing to deliver on Brexit. Think about it, Traitor May. What's better, a deal with Germany or the US? America or Germany? And while you're at it, how popular will you remain if you ignore the 17.4 million who voted to leave. Don't say Peasants' Revolt.

Regardless, Melania touched down in the UK, looking good to an RAF honor guard. The Queen has apparently organised a parade at Windsor Castle to welcome a President that isn't Obama and we can all look forward to some martial pomp and pageantry.

Melania Looking Awesome

It'll make for a pleasant alternative to watching bolshevik teenagers running around howling for open borders and a tofu burger on every plate.

Speaking of Great Britain, a Christian Pastor, Richard Smith,  was elected Mayor of Ferryhill in County Durham in May, but had to resign because of a hate campaign led by a local drag queen called Tess Tickle. No kidding, you can read all about it here.

A Typical FBI Traitor

Then there's bizarre case of FBI Agent Peter Strzok, who's been trying to tell Congress that he's a patriot despite being a traitor. Tricky. And lest we forget, there's a new nominee for SCOTUS, thus sealing the left like a doomed djinn into a bubble of impotent rage for decades if not millennia.

Weird, isn't it, how the progressive, comsymp, NWO elite, Illuminati stooge, MillSoc left went from anguished grief about The Children to shrieks of pro-abortion, kill your kid in the womb mania in the space of a SCOTUS nomination.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Thoughts on fauxtrage running skin deep aside, here at the Compound we have to ask. Would an impartial observer question the progleft's love of children?

Last but by no means least, England lost to Croatia but not before some 20 million pints of beer were drunk.

Don't say theater of the absurd, say roll on the parade.

Open Borders Begin At Home

Like charity itself, open borders begin at home.

That's why it's important for you to show your open heart with an open door.

Anything else would be Fascist and Nazi, right? So turn the key and open your door!

But seriously, since when did a country having a border and being, you know, a country, become Fascist? Would that be before or after the Democrats wanted to buy millions of potential votes and someone(s) decided to go for broke in the search for dirt cheap labor?

Then again, perhaps it's all down to deleterious effect of magnets on the brain.

Globalist Puppet Theresa May Tries To Kill Brexit

Two years ago 17.4 million people, more than had ever voted for anything in British history, voted to leave the European Union, to Brexit. They were sick of being governed by an elite cabal of NWO bureaucrats in Brussels and their puppets in Parliament.

Now the UK's Prime Minister, Theresa May, who notoriously opposed Brexit but nonetheless took responsibility for implementing it, has unsurprisingly gutted the deal with a plan that leaves UK producers and farmers bound to Brussels, and Britain part of the EU customs union.

The Spectator branded May's "soft Brexit" as a "grotesque betrayal." Via Breitbart:

This is a betrayal. A grotesque betrayal. It is a haughty rejection, in euphemistic language, of the great cry made by the 17.4m, which was for the recovery of national sovereignty and democratic authority. The electorate said ‘Britain should have control of its borders and laws’, and May says, ‘Actually let’s leave some of that control with Brussels’. This isn’t Soft Brexit; it is Remain by another name.

And from the Sunday Telegraph:

Remember that British Euroscepticism began life as a revolt against petty regulations and controls – and all of those rules governing light bulbs and vacuum cleaners and working hours, however small they might have seemed, were indicative of the EU’s bureaucratic, integrating agenda. How ridiculous then that Britain should leave the EU only to voluntarily tie itself to those same rules. Even worse, we are willingly giving up the right to push through radical free-market or pro-competition reforms by sticking to the EU’s social policies. How can we, as the world’s sixth largest economy, and a major market for the EU, be willing to hobble ourselves in such a way?

May's proposed Brexit that isn't a Brexit caused the resignations of Boris Johnson, Foreign Secretary, and David DavisBrexit Secretary, prompting speculation that the Prime Minister will face a Tory rebellion and be forced to leave office.

Whether she does or not, a phony Brexit that leaves the UK under the effective sovereignty of the Euro globalists and their British satraps, won't go unnoticed by the millions who voted against it.

Peasants Revolt, anyone?

Striper!

The sun loomed large and fiery in the rear view mirror and with it the promise of fish, the mighty Striper; and thanks to a friend's generosity we had a guide to put us there. Great result and a morning full of promise. Would it deliver?

It did, though it took a while, perhaps because the thunder, lightning and torrential rain of the night before had stunned the fish. After all, they're not used to Texas paying its weather tax.

Still, within a short blast across the lake we were getting results. Watch that rod go double and double again, as the ferocious predators tore into live shad. Big fun and a taste of things to come.

After an hour of scudding across the water from spot to spot, worth it for the ride alone, we ran into a school of Striper. There we were, waiting, when all of a sudden the bite switched on.

Brisk action, as rod after rod twitched and was pulled down into the water; it was fish on and make no mistake, right on the stroke of 11 am.

We limited out shortly and headed back to the marina after a friendly chat with a game warden, who floated over to say hi.

He has his hands full, dealing with lake riff-raff, clowns on speed boats and ne'er do wells up to aquatic skulduggery. Good guy. Then it was time to leave the lake, mission accomplished.

Big thanks to Pat and S.O. for a great day out on the water and a freezer full of Striper.

Fish on,

RAIN

You know what it's like. Walk out the door and you're in an oven, a preheating oven and there's no respite. Open the door to your rig and a blast of oven-hot air comes out and pounds you in the face. Relentless.

All in all it's like a furnace, so hot it seems the very air itself might ignite. That's probably why there's been a burn ban; wouldn't want any stray sparks catching the air on fire, would we.

And that's Texas in July, hot as Hell's Narthex, which was all too apparent in the parking lot of this asset-stripped rural haven's Walmart.

There we were, the heat, the rig, the melting asphalt, Madonna singing Rain, it was hard to even move and then there it was. A cloud, a rain cloud.

It pulled in from the East and gathered momentum, thunderheads, and sure enough the heavens started to growl and rumble. Then lightning arced down like Satan falling from power and it began to rain.

Some of you, maybe all, will understand this. But whatever, take it as read that this Climate Change is a sure and certain gift from God.

Chill out,

Happy 4th! Civil War Special

Here at the Compound we're wishing everyone a happy 4th of July, even as the Second Civil War rages around us.

Pause for a moment in your celebrations to reflect on the pain, agony and grief of the conflict as revealed in this short selection of letters from the front.

Yes, war is hell. Don't forget to raise a glass to our heroes while BBQ sizzles on the grill.

Cheers,

Double Up!

OK, fishing's great but you have to shoot too and part of that involves shotguns, yes, double barreled shotguns or "doubles." Thanks to a friend who's moving overseas, I was able to pick one up today, a CZ Bobwhite.

It's a handy side by side 20 gauge, Jeff Quinn calls it "svelte," with double triggers, 3" chambers, extractor-only action, straight English stock, case hardened receiver,  and 28" barrels.

For a budget SxS, I'd say it's attractive and it certainly seems to handle well, coming quickly to shoulder and putting your eye straight down the rib. But does it work?

If my friend's testimony is anything to go by, yes, he's had all kinds of success in the field with this gun.

Now it's my turn, right in time for predove season warm ups against the clays and then the avian acrobats themselves.

Thanks, TC. God bless your trip to the Emerald Isle.

Gun rights,

Melania Mondays!

Unlike the rest of the country and normal people everywhere, the Democrat controlled media doesn't like America's popular and glamorous First Lady. The media prefers a different person, and here it is.

This represented the feminine aspect of the country's leadership for 8 years, but not anymore. Melania's in charge now and she's been busy.

Trolling the press.

Giving hope to children.

And hosting Queen Rania of Jordan.

Well done, Melania, for doing your part to make America great again and I think we're all agreed that you deserve every cent you get from photo royalties.

MAGA,
