The Archbishop of Canterbury Goes Dhimmwit

In his New Year address, the Archbishop of Canterbury, toffee nosed old Etonian, Justin Welby tried to pour cold water on Great Britain’s popular vote to leave the hated European Union and welcome "strangers."

A Muslim Stranger

Addressing the nation, the Church of England’s top bishop and former Elf Oil executive claimed that the democratically mandated BREXIT had left Great Britain divided and encouraged us to offer “hospitality to the stranger”.

Live Well Together, With Strangers

“Living well together despite our differences, offering hospitality to the stranger and those in exile, with unshakable hope for the future – these are the gifts, the commands and the promises of Jesus Christ,” stated Welby.

Dumbass

It sounds good, right? Very Christian, but hold on a minute, your Reverence! Who are these “strangers”? Surely not millions of military age Muslims, the kind of head chopping savages that drive trucks into Christmas markets or turn once happy Sweden into the rape capital of the world. We’re supposed to welcome these people into our countries, and that’s offering Christian “hospitality”?

Dhimmwit

What a load of dhimwitted old guff. Maybe Great Britain should have offered Hitler’s Nazis “unshakable hope” and welcomed them, “despite our differences” into the country. Great idea, bishop, except that it's risible drivel.

Sorry, Welby, why don’t you concentrate on your job and sort out the real difference that concerns you, the difference between you and everyone else that doesn’t attend your shrinking Church.

And stop being a dhimmwit,

Progressive Christianity Will Die

The general consensus amongst the 4 people who read this so-called "mind blog" is that its authors are incapable of serious thought. To make up for that deficiency, here's an excerpt from Fr. Longenecker's 12 step takedown of proglib Christianity:

Crazed

The real divide in Christianity is no longer Protestant and Catholic, but progressive and historic.
When I say “divide” I should say “battle” because both sides are locked in an interminable and unresolvable battle. Interminable because neither side will yield and unresolvable because the divisions extend the theological and philosophical roots of both aspects.
However, it is true to look at the dynamic of progressive Christianity and see that by the end of this century it will have either died out or ceased to be Christianity.

Demented

Longenecker, a former Anglican priest, goes on to make his 12 points and they're certainly pertinent to a form, or a subversion of Christianity that's dying out. But here at the Compound we'd like to add a 13th observation.

Shifty

Why would anyone go to a church that existed to reflect disbelief back on itself? Or, to put it another way, why bother attending a church when you can more comfortably read the New York Times or The Guardian instead? Same message, far less hassle.

Sad Gay

Well guess what, Longenecker's prophecy's being fulfilled and the proglib churches are dying out. You can read their dismal stats on the internet, if you care to find them.

God bless,

Church of England Appoints Nudist Woman Bishop

Hardly a week goes by without the Church of England appointing a new woman bishop in its desperate attempt to reverse declining congregations and shrinking budgets. But the new Bishop of Sherbourne, Karen Gorham, isn't just a woman, she's also a nudist.

Archdeacon of Buckingham, Karen Gorham, was named next Bishop of Sherbourne last Thursday and has a long history of nudism, going back to her upbringing in a nudist family. According to Gorham, going around naked isn't necessarily about sex:

A Typical Woman Bishop Figure

"The connection of nakedness and sex, though it may seem inescapable, need not necessarily be so," stated the new bishop in a theology booklet, "Life in a naturist club, or a naturist resort, is just about doing things which one generally does with clothes on, but unclothed when the circumstances permit it."

Pew Filler

Gorham, 51, is unmarried. Maybe she'll get all the "singles" back to church and fill those empty CofE pews.

Good luck.
