Listen Up

Imagine you were a church or denomination which says it believed in the divinely ordered givenness of human sexuality, male and female he created them.

Likewise, you hold marriage as something which takes place between a man and woman. More than this, you think babies shouldn't be killed in the womb, not least at the point of birth, and that Jesus is God, the Christ, and his commandments, his Word should be obeyed.

I know, it may be hard, but try to imagine it. Then picture a group of people violently, enthusiastically in favor of abortion. People who believe gender's a construct, gay marriage a right and Christ, at best, one guru amongst many. And in his Western expression, a racist oppressor.

That in mind, you'd expect the churches concerned to stand together and denounce a movement which is antithetical to their belief, Christianity, and to do so clearly, unanimously and loudly. But no.

The Roman Catholic church? Silent or busy making deals with Communist China. The Anglican Church in North America? All about investigating "systemic racism." The venerable Church of England? Very upset about racism and statues. Baptists? Crickets.

Granted, there's notable exceptions, like Cardinal Vigano and priests like Fr. Altman and Fr. Goring in Canada. But this is rare and in ACNA, the Anglican Church in North America, the silence is deafening or even complicit.

Churches, listen up. Cowardice in the face of the enemy won't win you any favors. Stand and be counted while you still have that option in the public square. 

The fight is on, and don't kid yourselves that people who hate, scorn and despise you aren't coming to shut you down.

What Fresh Hell is This?

ACNA (Anglican Church in North America) Archbishop Foley Beach has called our nation to prayer in an August 19 open letter. In it he lists a series of calamities and says this:

Another senseless killing by a police officer of an unarmed black man, George Floyd.

Hundreds of thousands of people participating in peaceful protests.

What? Are you absolutely sure, Beach, that Floyd wasn't ripped on meth and fentanyl  while he was resisting arrest and went blue in the process? Are you sure the police killed him and not the massive amounts of drugs that were in his body?  The courts most certainly haven't decided, unlike you, Archbishop.

Bodycam footage shows Floyd having trouble breathing before he got out of the car, as if he was ODing on the massive amounts of heroin substitute found in his body. Word to the wise, don't do lots of smack or derivatives, it stops you breathing and you die. Just like George Floyd, the counterfeiter, druggy, violent thug.

And "another senseless killing of an unarmed black man," what? Like it happens all the time in the supercharged racist KKK States of America? You know the typical street scene, there's a couple of innocent angels playing rap music on a street corner when baam! a cop Tahoe rides up and blasts them.

No. Blacks commit some 85% of the violent crime in this country despite being 13% of the population. Unsurprisingly, they tangle with the police and some get shot. It's a miracle, to my mind, that only 14 unarmed blacks (according to the leftist Washington Post, 9 according to Rudy Giuliani) were shot in 2019, as opposed to 25 whites. This shows remarkable restraint on the part of the police in the face what amounts to off-the-hook savagery. Doubt me? Try living in the dindu ghetto.

Regardless; hundreds of thousands of people participating in peaceful protests? Why are you kowtowing to Marxist BLM agitprop, Beach? Have you forgotten that commies hate Christianity and want to destroy it? Have you forgotten how the Soviets weren't too keen on Christianity? Or maybe you've never bothered to read the BLM What We Believe page on their website. 

Peaceful protests. Wow. A corporate sponsored, Anarcho-Marxist coup, masquerading as a civil rights movement in an election year, and you're taken in by that? Go read Cardinal Vigano, you mountebank, and start standing up for the Gospel you say you represent.

If this is ACNA I want out.

What Will Happen to The Communion Partners?

Do you remember the Communion Partners? Sure you don't, unless you happen to be a keen-eyed observer of the Anglican scene in North America. So here's a refresher. The Communion Partners are trads who stayed in the Episcopal Church (TEC) as a kind of righteous remnant, witnessing against the pink revolution that took over their church.

They hoped, perhaps they still do, that when TEC gets disciplined by the Communion for going gay, they, the Communion Partners, will be recognized as the true voice of Anglicanism in North America. And all without the pain and grief of getting sued by your rainbow rulers for leaving the church. Don't want to incur the stainless steel fury of your liberal overlords, eh?

An Alien in The Corn

But what's happened? It looks like the conservatives who left TEC, the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), are the ones who're being seen as authentic Anglicans in the US. After all, their leader, Archbishop Foley Beach, was given a voice and vote at the primatial gathering in Canterbury, and his church wasn't sanctioned, but TEC was. So it's starting to look like ACNA is seen as the true Anglican franchise in America, even if it's not formally counted as such.

I'll leave you with a question. What would happen to the Communion Partners if, three years from now, TEC has refused to repent and is kicked out of the Communion, and ACNA isn't? Perhaps a picture speaks louder than words.

Primates Meeting 2016

As everyone knows, the Primates of the Anglican Communion are meeting together next week at Canterbury Cathedral in an attempt find a way forward for the world's third largest denomination. 

It's a bold call, because the Communion is home to two irreconcilable points of view, or religions, even. Archbishop Cranmer describes the two factions as Eloi and Morlocks.

On the one hand, there's the libs, who've taken over Western Anglicanism. Their version of Christianity means championing priestesses, gay marriage, abortion, gender transitioning and fighting the Weather. They think Islam is a religion of peace and their leader is the Episcopal Church (TEC), which is richer than a trainload of Nazi gold. They represent a shrinking 20% of the Communion. Gavin Ashenden describes them as cultural Marxists.

Then there are the provinces of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) and the Global South, which stand for biblical orthodoxy, at least as far as marriage is concerned. For them, Tracy shouldn't marry Stephani, and Darryl shouldn't leave Paula to shack up with Kevin and become a bishop. These represent 80% of the Communion and are primarily African. They take a dim view of lesbian bishops and want the gay West to repent; if it doesn't, they're threatening to leave the Communion.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who's taking time off from hustling for spare change outside Detroit's Cobo Hall, wants to re-imagine his non-Communion in such as way as to allow these two polar opposites to live together. David Virtue doesn't think he has it in him and likens the upcoming Primates Meeting to a battle of Britain 2.0. But what do I think, so-called "LSP"? 

For what it's worth, I think the fight within Anglicanism, which mirrors that in society at large, will be overtaken by three things: militant Islam, the visceral hatred of secular left nihilism, and financial collapse.

Is that alarmist? I hope so, and in the end, there will be one church, visible and militant against the enemy. I doubt that will be based out of Canterbury.

Just Tell It Like It Is.

Metropolitan Jonah

Spent the last couple of days holed up in the Press Room at St. Vincent's Cathedral, Bedford, developing carpal tunnel syndrome and trying to put out something meaningful about the first Provincial Assembly of the new 'Anglican Church in North America', or ACNA for short. Well, its not shooting, riding, or vicariously connected with your friends catching huge great fish but it was a bit of history in the making - especially Metropolitan Jonah's address this morning. He called for the full communion of Orthodoxy with the new Province. Excellent but what would Anglicans have to do to make this happen? Jonah pulled no punches:

"Full affirmation of the orthodox Faith of the Apostles and Church Fathers, the seven Ecumenical Councils, the Nicene Creed in its original form, all seven Sacraments and a rejection of ‘the heresies of the Reformation.' His Beatitude listed these in a series of ‘isms’; Calvinism, anti-sacramentalism, iconoclasm and Gnosticism. He went on, the ordination of women to the Presbyterate and their consecration as Bishops has to end if intercommunion is to occur."

Nice one Jonah, all good grist for the LSP mill, not that I have a problem with the procession of the Spirit from the Father and the Son, you understand, but what about ACNA?

Scary New York Boy Bishop

The last I heard more than a few had a perverse regard for Calvinist anti-sacramentalism - but at least they're not dismal devotees of the Sharia peddler that occupies the throne of Augustine, or fans of the Boy Bishop in New York either; maybe that will save them in the end.

I hope so, much as I dislike the 'heresies of the reformation' and the various detestable enormities of Sola Scriptura, infantile hymns and slavish devotion to Puritan 'divinity'. Despite all that, and far more, I'd like to see ACNA succeed because I think they really do want to believe the Faith, which is no bad thing. Only time will tell if they find it.
