Malfeasant

What, our governance? No, just the upstairs AC, which is no joke in September Texas. Point in mind, I slept for a week on the couch downstairs, where the air works and it isn't 100+* But all that's over now, Greg turned up and replaced the malfeasant compressor.

He's a good guy and wears camo, which means you mostly can't see him. He also turned away from assorted wickedness to "follow Christ." Well done. Does that include assisting Mass? I've asked, many times. Not yet, apparently. Hey, Rome wasn't built in a day.

In other news, P Diddy's sharing a room with FTX Friedman, the totally not corrupt Mayor of NYC is being charged by the totally not corrupt DOJ and the fuel tanker which supplied a Middle East US Carrier Group apparently "ran aground." Far out, sure that wasn't a torpedo? You know, just throwing it out there.

Get off the couch,

LSP

Work in progress, RHSM.

I swear, Willis Carrier should be a saint for his invention of air conditioning, lovely lovely air conditioning.

I had my struggles with the apartment management last year over the interior unit and the heat pump. Only took 8 months to get everything squared away. Sigh. Sometimes renting truly sucks. Well, at least I don't have to mow...

LSP - the best Subdeacons are the ones who are good at taking care of the gear and are handy. Showing up and dealing with the altar boys' parents' schedules is a different story! Glad you are cool

We just pulled our portable A/C units out for the season. And I agree with Beans...Mr. Carrier made Modern Life possible.

Beans, you'll note that the great state of Texas didn't really grow until AC. Just sayn.

Yes Wild, there is that. Me? A simple Georgian townhouse in Bloomsbury would be totally sufficient. A summer retreat from Texas, sort of thing.

Ah, Seamus, Subdeacons. Wish I had a few...

I'm not arguing, drjim.

Real a/c? Made do for years with a swamp cooler.

Looked into that, WSF, but there's an humidity issue, apparently they don't work here, annoyingly.

Back in the day, everyone slept on the porch in my house. Cheaper, cooler, more healthsome?

Oh, living in Florida in the middle north of the state where there are no sea breezes, well, AC is needed.

Heck, pretty much everything south of Tennessee requires AC to live.

I know how to build a 'Florida house' with 'Florida porches' and how to live successfully in one but why would I?

The humidity in TX ads to the discomfort.

Gots no money to change quarters. Easier to fight and get what I'm supposed to. It helps that I'm the good tenant that does things like pile branches after storms and such.
