There is a story that he was sick and had a sore throat but went on anyway so as not to disappoint the audience. A trooper!

Better to hear that train coming from the other side of the wire.

The San Quinton version. While that concert was good, I thought the one at Folsom itself was better. The album from that one was one of the great live performances on record. I had it on vinyl back then and on CD(with additional material) now. If you don't have that one, I highly recommend it. One difference in band was at lead guitar. At Folsom, the playing was by Luther Perkins, who died in a house fire in 1968 and was replaced by Bob Wootton. Cash richly deserves his status as legend.

I totally agree, Jim. But that vid came across the screen and off it went!
