There you go, shoot the ice off the Weber |
This town is in the grip of Day Two of Winter Storm 2013, as ice-blind, directionless gangs of migrant farm workers run through the streets, looting, burning, cock fighting and gambling. Just to keep warm.
Just in case |
Others are inside, cleaning guns, loading magazines, inventorying food supplies, and throwing last year's broken furniture on the fire.
It's all fun and games till the grid goes down, my friend. |
I stand ready to bury the dead.
Forewarned is Forearmed.
That is all.

pagest192I so wish I read today's post before I commented on Day 1; I forgot this was Texas, and pretermitting BBQ advice was a venial sin ;-)
You have to shoot the dead in the head, or they come back as liturgical engineers. I mean zombies.
Don't shoot the weber with that. Get a flame thrower.
Always take a pistol to the BBQ, 3rd News and the, er, icicles.
I know it sounds drastic, Infidel, but it's the kindest way in the end. For all concerned. Here's an excerpt:
"Look! There's a liturgical engineer!" he said, "It's dancing and it's dressed like, like a clown!"
"Well, you'd better shoot it in the head, then, hadn't you," replied the veteran of a thousand eucharistic wars.
One snap shot later, one more liturgist laid to rest and the world a better place.
Cheers.
Good call, Borepatch. Fire up that grill!

Too funny.
We flunked Weber. Couldn't keep it burning. Maybe we needed ice...
Our last ice storm (many moons ago) we lost our power for so long that I became an expert at cooking on our wood stove. I even mastered toast. As long as I have toast, eggs, and coffee - life is good.
Stay warm!
I wish I had that wood stove, Adrienne. Next year...
Try using a "charcoal funnel" to light the thing; works every time.
Brrr.
God bless.
What is an ice storm? It looks like Wales on a summer bank holiday weekend.

Amen to that, Anonymous. Two very terrible things.
Nice ice.
