Here we are, back at Juke Box Mondays with the good ole Grateful Dead. "I love the Dead!" exclaimed no girlfriend ever. And by popular demand, and it's just that, popular demand, here's Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
But Jim wants Wanda, so here she is.
And RHT is urgent. Let's hear it for Foreigner.
But what's this?!? Hocus Pocus by Focus?!? Travel back in time and behold the fretboard glory of it all.
Then there's Heart of Glass, which we love. A Lot. Ignore the band.
Cheers, requests open,
LSP

Here's the story of the original sax solo by Junior Walker in "Urgent"--

I never met a Wanda I didn't like.
Speaking of Pink Floyd, the only PK tunes on the radio are the three I either don't like or actually hate - Money, The Wall, and that one that has worms eating someone's brain. Honestly? I guess this gives some insight into me compared to the rest of the world or at least the part that programs radio stations or actually calls in to request tunes.
Well then, How about some Chet Atkins Get On With It !
Bullet to the Bone?
Thanks for the Hocus Pocus. Needed the reminder.
WILD!! I'm going to watch & listen to the whole program again later today!! By the time THESE groups hit the charts, I had left R & R for opera (of all things!). But now this ancient (half-century old!!) music is quite intriguing!! Just like I only discovered Queen a year ago, I'm grooving to these 70s rock bands!! Thanks, LSP - a fun trip down what I hope will become "memory lane!"
"I love the Dead" said my wife. No wait......not really.
Here's a couple for your perusal. Big Mama Thornton was a blues singer back in the day and she was the first to record Hound Dog. She was amused by the Elvis version because she stated the song was written in the woman's point of view, though she did say he did a good job on it. Big Mama's version.

Unlike most on the left, Willie Nelson still seems to be pro US. He's also a superb songwriter and an interesting vocalist. He did this video about a dozen years ago. Good song and the Blue Angel footage is pretty nice as well.

I smooched Debbie Harry!
Love it, RHT, on the next selection.
Kid, Chet! Yes indeed, he'll feature next time round. And yes, totally with you on those Floyd songs. They lost their way, imo. Money? Annoying at best, the stupid Wall song and that worm thing? Rubbish.
I think, btw, that Darkside of the M just cuts it. But that's me, everyone loves it. Hey, no rule.
I always forget that tune, ED, but it has its moments, eh?
jdb, I know, it's 50 years old! Kyrie eleison. Anyway, glad you like it. Btw, please don't look at Blondie's band, it'll spoil things.
Infidel, I walked into the room, put on I Steal Your Face, popped a cold one and kicked back. Then my wife came in and said, I LOVE THIS!"
In an alternate universe.
Whoa! Jim!
That's most definitely on next week's list.
NICE.
What?!? You did?!? JC?!?
Rock on. Big claim to fame, and I don't say that lightly. Speaking of which, my old boss is still bitter because "Neil Young (Old Shakey) stole my girlfriend. I know, it was all rock 'n roll, but still... I really hate that guy."
Heh.
JC, you dog you. Debbie Harry. Yum. Whatever it was she had, she had it, and lots of it.
And now for something completely different, them changes:

A classic, ably performed by folks in uniform-

Many moons ago I was up late on a Saturday watching Don Kirchner's Rock Concert...always had headliners on. Then here comes this group Focus, playing Hocus Pocus...will never forget that.
