Annunciation

It's the Feast of the Annunciation, so here's a prayer:

WE beseech thee, O Lord, pour thy grace into our hearts; that, as we have known the incarnation of thy Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by his cross and passion we may be brought unto the glory of his resurrection; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God bless,

LSP

I guess that in years such as 2016 when March 25 falls within Holy Week or Easter Week, the Annunciation is moved to the Monday after the Octave of Easter. The Greek Orthodox Church does not move the feast of the Annunciation. I don't know that it matters one way or the other? But y'all don't have cool titles like Archimandrite, which is clearly something to be aspired to -- but you'd have to grow a long beard and you'd be tasting your soup three days after you ate it. Such are the trade-offs.

True, but we do get Vicar Generals, which is no small thing.

And the Vicar General doesn't need to grow a beard.

Athos aside, that might well be a benefit.
