OPERATION FLOOR

Here's the thing. You've been busy focusing on Iran, Israel, WWIII and America's popular President. Fine, go right ahead, think those thoughts, but here at the Compound we've been getting down to business, taking out old, dirty, dingy carpet from upstairs.

You see, back in the halcyon 1980s the local Power decided to put industrial carpet up the stairs and through the upper corridor. It had to go and now it's gone, revealing the original pinewood boards, most of which simply need a clean, and others which have to be stripped of offending varnish. Have a look at the latter:

No big deal and we'll get on it tomorrow, but first things first. Behold a refreshing pitcher of Pimm's No. 1. Recipe: Squeeze 6 lemons, add 1/2 cup of simple syrup (sugar melted in water) and a liter of soda water; set it aside, it's lemonade.

Be bold, pour a solid half a bottle of Pimm's and a serious slug of gin into some crystal over ice, Steuben will do, then add lemonade along with cucumber, orange, strawberries and fresh mint. The latter's important, don't forget it. It's like a rule. And then hey presto, you've got a refreshing fruit punch, 1820s style, and mighty tasty it is too.

And there you have it, long drinks and OPFLOOR Stage 1. Tomorrow we strip the boards and finish with wax. More on this exciting plan as it develops; it's no small thing, dear friends, to have such hideous, noxious carpet out of the house.

Long Time Coming,

Iran - Bombs Away

Looks like it's not been a good day to work at an Iranian nuke plant:

Fordow, apparently (everyone says it's a video from an earlier strike... so, but we get the idea):

What's your take. Is this an opening move, a demo of things to come if you don't back down, Mullahs? The first shot in a broader war if the Iranians shake the dice and decide to play on? Scot Ritter says it's save-face posturing. Hey, I don't pretend to know but feel free to chime in. 47 addresses the country at 10.00 pm.

Situation developing,

A Short Sermon

Good Lord, what tumult. Yet moar war as Israel launches against Iran, astroturf riots in, you guessed it, Democrat run cities, an awesome military parade to mark the 250th anniversary of the US Army, President's Day and last but certainly not least, Trinity Sunday.

Behold the Holy and Undivided Trinity, revealed to us by God Himself and, for a fact, it's not the kind of thing you'd cook up if you wanted to invent a religion for fun, gain and personal profit. Three Divine Persons, one God. Theologians tell us the key to the mystery is love, which I find helpful, perhaps you will too.

Love, in its various aspects, involves a giving of self to the beloved. Imagine this taken to perfection in the life of God. From eternity the Father pours Himself out in a perfect act of love, a total donation of divine being, and the Son is begotten, who in turn gives Himself perfectly to the Father. In this eternal, timeless exchange of being Father and Son are one in substance or essence, and the love which flows between them is itself a Person, the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and Son and gives Himself back, perfectly, in love to them.

So, in a dynamic of perfect love Father, Son and Spirit are one in divine substance but distinct as persons by virtue of their relationship one to the other. Excellent, we say, but how can relationship amount to personhood. Good question and worth reflection, eh? Regardless, here's the inestimable Farrer:

THE disciples who were present at the Supper saw and heard Jesus Christ making eucharist to the Father over the bread and the cup.  They were witnesses of the intercourse between the Eternal Son and his Eternal Father.  Mortal ears and eyes at that moment perceived the movement of speech and love which passes in the heart of the Godhead; human minds entered into that converse of the Divine Persons which is the life and happiness of the Blessed Trinity.  Belief in the Trinity is not a distant speculation; the Trinity is that blessed family into which we are adopted.  God has asked us into his house, he has spread his table before us, he has set out bread and wine.  We are made one body with the Son of God, and in him converse with the Eternal Father, through the indwelling of the Holy Ghost.

Beautiful and true.

God bless you all,

You Go Away For A Day

You Millionaire Commie Freaks

You take a day off from it all and look what happens. The Yen carry trade unwinds, margin calls, anyone? Crypto collapses. Iran promises retribution, the world waits. England continues to revolt, and our very own Kamala chooses a bizarre middle-aged gender queer champion leftie as she/her running mate. And that's not all, not by any means.

Harvard, popularly known as Satan's Vatican, is offering courses on "Medieval Texts Through The Lens of Queer History." Per Harvard's BGLTQ office:

Through our work, we foster the inclusion, affirmation, and celebration of all BGLTQ identities and expressions. We strive to create a community where BGLTQ students can thrive and where all students are well-equipped to engage knowledgeably and compassionately with regard to gender and sexuality.

How very worth the vaunted Ivy League school's totally affordable tuition fees. You know, you emerge from the Kremlin by the Charles with your shiny new Queer Medieval history degree and get a great job, as a queer medievalist. What a great investment in higher learning.

Dear Lord, what have we become? The words idiotic, risible, degenerate, lying, gaslighting, blasphemous, profiteering clownshow spring to mind.

Cheers,

I'm Confused And May They Rest In Peace

Well duh, LSP, we know you're confused, but hear me out. Why are Army Reserve soldiers being deployed to far-flung corners of the American Empire, like Tower 22 on the Jordanian/Syrian DMZ? Shouldn't that be a job for regular++ troops, and why are we in Syria anyway?

Serious and perplexing questions. Regardless, three reservists lost their lives in a drone attack on Sunday and many more were injured. According to Military.com:

The soldiers who lost their lives were Sgt. William Rivers, 46; Spc. Kennedy Sanders, 24; and Spc. Breonna Moffett, 23. They were assigned to the 718 Engineer Company, an Army Reserve unit based out of Fort Moore, Georgia, according to Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokeswoman, who briefed reporters on the incident Monday.

Fort Moore is in fact Fort Benning, and despite the stultifyingly boring DEI name change POCs are getting killed in the Middle East; for what noble and imperative cause were their lives lost? I don't get it, I'm confused, perhaps you can help me and their families out.

On topic, why have we been in a constant state of war, whether indirect or direct, since the most popular president in the history of history was anointed to power. I mean to say, aren't Democrats the Rainbow Party of Peace?

Again, this is confusing. The evil Nazi Orange Man was going to plunge us into deranged wars and yet... and yet... here we are getting into it with B1s against the existential threat to our freedom which is Iran.

Let's pray those aircrews make it home safe, unlike the poor soldiers who died in Jordan. Pray too that our enemies are too stupid to think they could cross our southern border with impunity. In the meanwhile, may Sgt. Rivers, Spc. Sanders and Spc. Moffett rest in peace and rise in glory.

Yours,

LSP

Arabian Alleluia

Did you know that, outside of Iran, Afghanistan has the fastest growing Christian community in the Muslim world? Right about now would be a good time to pray for them, to say nothing of a renewed commitment to the Faith in our own land.

That, the Faith, is in deficit right about now, with disastrous results. About time we made a deposit and turn the present wickedness around.

God bless,

Space Force Stardust

We are Stardust, we are golden and 45's SPACE FORCE is up and at it, weaponizing high orbit and beyond in the icy vastness of deep space.

There's some debate about the new command's uniform but sources say it's space black with silver trim. Smart and somehow decisive, as in "we can and will take you out from SPACE. So take note and show some respect."

Speaking of which, anyone remember the earthquakes around Iran's nuke facility? They backed down real quick. Just sayin.

Melania & Satan's Ruby Ring

Here at the Compound we were delighted to receive a Christmas card from America's popular and glamorous First Lady. Thank you, Melania, for the work you do to keep America great and for being a faithful Catholic Christian.

Are the two synonymous? Surely yes, Christ didn't start anything that wasn't complete.

Our Adversary, on the other hand, marches to the beat of a different drum and loves rubies, ruby rings especially. Have a look:

Satan's jewel crown? Emmylou sings:

God grant you a blessed and peaceful night, White Hats rule this town now.

Victory is assured,

K9 Genius

Do you get the impression that the Persian business is a kind of political theater? Speaking of which, some idiot savant's declared that America would need a million troops to invade and conquer Iran.

Really? A million soldiers to take out Iran? I put the question to Blue Battlegroup, who replied by way of snatching up a tennis ball and savaging it with his fangs. A message to Tehran, perhaps, which has wisely stood down to the tune of President Trump's message of peace and love.

Some call it the shortest World War in history.

Your Old Friend,

War Drums?

Did Iran, perhaps via its Houthi proxies in Yemen, attack two tankers in the Gulf of Oman this morning? US and Saudi officials have suggested they did but if so, why; to provoke a crippling war with the US?

That doesn't seem to make much sense, perhaps the villain is another "state actor" altogether.

I don't know about you but going to war on behalf of the Wahhabi meteorite guardians doesn't sound too appealing. Didn't they have something to do with 9/11?

Cheers,

Mimetic Saturday

Thanks to a noted member of the intelligence community, we're delighted to present this powerful meme.

Here at the Compound we hope you find it as helpful as we do and before you go, a question. Who's going to rebuild, and with what?

Ride on,

Mad Mitch

Some of you may have noticed that there's a scrap going on in Aden. It's important, because of oil, and who knows how it will all pan out. Will our Iranian allies win, or will our Saudi/Qatari allies win? Maybe ISIS will win. Do we back them? With guns and ammo and PR spin? (propaganda) Who knows.

But we do know that Lt. Col. "Mad Mitch" of the Argyll and Southern Highlanders, had the temerity to retake the Crater in Aden, in 1967.

He was hated for that.

I'm a big fan of Mad Mitch, ever since I was a kid. His Highlanders took care of business.
