Ash Wednesday 2022

Lent's begun and with it a confrontation with reality, Remember O man that thou art dust to dust thou shall return. And with that we're knocked firmly back onto the first rung of the ascent to holiness, humility and repentance. After all, the most exalted of human endeavor is dust and ashes before the perfection of God.

So we cry out, heartrended, have mercy on me a sinner and depart from me for I am a sinful man and Christ in his turn, lifts us up upon the Cross to the Father. Consummatum Est, it is finished. Dust and death, judgement, turns to mercy and redemption won by our Lord's sacrifice on Calvary.

In union with that we find life, and ashes turn to glory.

God bless you all,

LSP

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hatest nothing that thou hast made, and dost forgive the sins of all those who are penitent; Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of thee, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Utter, Total, Tyrannical Insanity

Via Zero:

"Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense.”

George Orwell, 1984

The “Covid pandemic” narrative is insane. That is long-established at this point, we don’t really need to go into how or why here. Read our back catalogue.

The rules are meaningless and arbitrary, the messaging contradictory, the very premise nonsensical.

Every day some new insanity is launched out into the world, and while many of us roll our eyes, raise our voices, or just laugh…many more accept it, believe it, allow it to continue.

Take the situation in Canada right now, where the government has enforced a vaccine mandate on healthcare workers, meaning in British Columbia alone over 3000 hospital staff were on unpaid leave by November 1st.

How have local governments responded to staff shortages?

They are asking vaccinated employees who have tested positive for Covid to work.

Whether or not you believe the test means anything, they notionally do. In the reality they try to sell us every day, testing positive means you are carrying a dangerous disease.

So they are requesting people allegedly carrying a “deadly virus” work, rather than letting perfectly healthy unvaccinated people simply have their jobs back.

This is insanity.

Yes it is. People who have rebelled against truth, ultimately against God, insist you must too. Therein lies power, the exercise of arbitrary will enforced by strength, and the more the demonic merrier. This rule makes no sense at all, but you must obey it to the erasure of your god-given reason and ultimately his image itself. To put it another way, all that makes you human.

And that's the goal, to turn you, the serf, into a slave beast. Beyond that, to destroy. Culture, art, literature, the family, architecture, music, gender itself, who we are as human beings in the image of God, all this has to go, borne down in a torrent of lies.

Lies? We know their Father and we also know that the gates of Hell shall not prevail. My advice? Get on the winning team.

Your Friend,

LSP

Arabian Alleluia

Did you know that, outside of Iran, Afghanistan has the fastest growing Christian community in the Muslim world? Right about now would be a good time to pray for them, to say nothing of a renewed commitment to the Faith in our own land.

That, the Faith, is in deficit right about now, with disastrous results. About time we made a deposit and turn the present wickedness around.

God bless,

Church of Sweden Goes Tranny

Lutheran Sweden was, for a time, something like the sword arm of Protestantism, thanks in no small part to the remarkable Gustavus Adolphus. But that was then, this is now, and the Lutheran Church of Sweden's told the world that it's trans.

That's right, an entire denomination's decided to become a blasphemous parody of a woman or, less typically, a man. You can read the whole turgid smuggery here:

“We write to you from a church that is also trans. A church is made up of people. People are different. We have confirmees, employees, churchwardens, elected representatives, non-profits, and other parishioners who define themselves as trans people. The church also consists of trans people. Therefore, the church could be described as trans.”

I ask you, all four readers of this inconsequential mind blog, would Gustavus have died laughing or turned his sabre on the sex magicke occultists? I'd wager sabre.

In the meanwhile, we're left with the spectacle of every single mainline prot denom going full rainbow. And, lest you think I'm somehow biased, Rome isn't far behind, just ask the German and Dutch bishop figures, to say nothing of our own apostates here in the US.

Odd, isn't it, that people who no longer believe in biological gender are keenest to shut down their churches in the face of a deadly bioweapon that kills .02(?) of the people it infects.

Whatever, we can analyse this interesting phenom all night long, but let's not.  What we do know is this, the gates of Hell will not prevail. And remember kids, Baphomet's trans.

Stand steady,

LSP

All Saints

From the great, lucid, holy Benedict XVI (2008):

The Solemnity of All Saints came to be affirmed in the course of the first Christian millennium as a collective celebration of martyrs. Already in 609, in Rome, Pope Boniface iv had consecrated the Pantheon, dedicating it to the Virgin Mary and to all the martyrs. Moreover, we can understand this martyrdom in a broad sense, in other words, as love for Christ without reserve, love that expresses itself in the total gift of self to God and to the brethren.

This spiritual destination, toward which all the baptized strive, is reached by following the way of the Gospel "beatitudes", as the liturgy of today's Solemnity indicates (cf. Mt 5: 1-12a). It is the same path Jesus indicated that men and women Saints have striven to follow, while at the same time being aware of their human limitations. In their earthly lives, in fact, they were poor in spirit, suffering for sins, meek, hungering and thirsting for justice, merciful, pure of heart, peacemakers, persecuted for the sake of justice.

And God let them partake in his very own happiness: they tasted it already in this world and in the next, they enjoy it in its fullness. They are now consoled, inheritors of the earth, satisfied, forgiven, seeing God whose children they are. In a word: "the reign of God is theirs" (Mt 5: 3,10).

On this day we feel revive within us our attraction to Heaven, which impels us to quicken the steps of our earthly pilgrimage. We feel enkindled in our hearts the desire to unite ourselves forever to the family of Saints, in which already now we have the grace to partake. As a famous spiritual song says: "Oh when the Saints, come marching in, oh how I want to be in that number!"

May this beautiful aspiration burn within all Christians, and help them to overcome every difficulty, every fear, every tribulation!

Let us place, dear friends, our hand in Mary's maternal hand, may the Queen of All Saints lead us towards our heavenly homeland, in the company of the blessed spirits "from every nation, people and language" (cf. Rv 7: 9). And already now we unite in prayer in remembering our dear deceased, who we will commemorate tomorrow.

And here's an ecumenical prayer via FR5:

Omnípotens sempitérne Deus, qui nos ómnium Sanctórum tuórum mérita sub una tribuísti celebritáte venerári: quæsumus; ut desiderátam nobis tuæ propitiatiónis abundántiam, multiplicátis intercessóribus, largiáris.

Almighty and everlasting God, who has enabled us to honor in one solemn feast the merits of all Thy Saints: we beseech Thee, that, with so many praying for us, Thou wouldst pour forth on us the abundance of Thy mercy for which we long.

May the powerful intercession of Our Lady and the Saints be with us all. And be assured, the iron gates of Hell shall not prevail against the onslaught of the hosts of heaven.

Here endeth the Lesson,

LSP

Vivo Cristo Rey!

We celebrate the Feast of Christ the King tomorrow. Sorry, Puritans, there's a lot of feasting in the Church and this puts me in mind of Fr. Miguel Pro.

Fr. Miguel was martyred in Mexico during the suppression of the Church, stretching out his arms as if crucified before his firing squad and exclaiming, "Vivo Cristo Rey!" Long live Christ the King. Before that, this happened:

“[T]he policeman…turned, and with tears in his eyes, begged Father Pro to forgive him for leading him to his death. Miguel put his arm about the shoulders of the shaking man and told him, “You have not only my forgiveness but my thanks.” He also softly told the members of the firing squad, ‘May God forgive you all.’”

I'm inspired by that and I hope you are too. Remember, the gates of Hell shall not prevail.

God bless,

LSP
