HOT ROD

You go to the country store and what do you get? A hot rod.

And then some. Wow. No foolin'.

Most awesome. Serious attention to detail.

I left impressed but perhaps you disagree?

Ride on,

Big Block Chevy with Edelbrock "Performer RPM" aluminum heads, and two Edelbrock 4 barrel carbs on a tunnel ram. Mallory ignition coil, and 8mm Silicone plug wires. Nice setup! Could easily make 650HP in that configuration, and possibly more if he's got "enough" cam for those heads. Considering it has "Bayless Racing" valve covers on it, if they built it, it's a screamer. Looks like he wisely went with a pair of smaller carbs. When you have TWO, they don't have to be huge, and you get much better throttle response.

You all be safe and God bless.

I admire those who make those rides. Not for me, my cheap ways prevent it.

He definitely didn't build it to Green New Deal standards. Though it would have been impolite to ask him when he was going to tear it down and replace it with an electric motor...

Yum. The coachwork is impressive. But mostly I hold with WSF.

The ying and yang of hot rods: How fast do you want to go, and how much money do you have?

Apparently, his answers were "real fast" and "enough."

Looks like all the boxes are checked for sure. I also like how the exhaust pipes aren't blue from running too lean. More evidence of a proper setup.

Absolutely lovely.

Sweet!!! And I agree with drjim, somebody spent some large $$$ on that rig! Would NOT want to try to drive it on a wet road! LOL

I wasn't expecting that uplifting vision when I went to the store. Result.

Same here, WSF, and I don't have the knowledge, to be honest.

That's a very good point, LL, and we can imagine all those Solar/Wind dragsters tearing it up on the pot holed debris of once great cities. Hmmmmm, pan to dystopia short.

Totally with you, Wild, and what a piece of art to boot!

Now that, Kid, is right on the money. And it sounded great when it took off, I have to say.

I was seriously impressed, DOS. If it was mine? Maybe make the coachwork a bit darker, but whoa, what a good job!

NFO, I think I'd be cautious getting behind the wheel...
