Good old Melanie,
LSP
Thunder rolled like the sound of distant guns, a young buzzard picked at the carcass of an armadillo in the street and there you have it. A Memorial Day morning stroll down the sylvan boulevards of Olde Texas to the Pick 'n Steal, aka Shamrock filling station, for coffee and Marlboro Light Shorts.
There'll be hamburgers on the grill later with good time to be had for all. That said, let's not forget the purpose of the day. Here's a short prayer from the 1928 BCP:
ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead; We give thee thanks for all those thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our country. Amen
May they rest in peace and rise in glory,
LSP
Here's what happened. We climbed into the rig and drove to Dallas to take care of business. Part of that involved picking up flowers for Ma LSP by way of Mothers Day and Birthday. And then? Fire up the grill and have at it, burgers. What an enjoyable evening.
The next day was all about USGOV in its local franchise and it wasn't bad, all things considered, though it left Mrs LSP hungry for tacos. Yes, street tacos, fancy tacos, any tacos would do. We found some just off the hideous Kennedy memorial in Dallas' attempt to build a tourist trap, it's deserted, failed "West End" restaurant strip. My dad used to love it there, and I thought of him as we got down on those tacos. They were pretty tasty, if pricey.
Next step? The Galleria. Far out, I hadn't been there since the '90s, but off we went down the Tollway and arrived at the objective. What was that? You ask with bated breath, H&M. Yep, H&M, and I tell you this, punters, the one on Regent Street's better. Don't ask me how I know. Both are cheap, fortunately.
Then back to Ma LSP's HQ for dinner. Was a good time had by all? It most assuredly was. More later as this exciting story develops.
Your Best Pal,
LSP
A friend from England, where self-defense is banned, wondered if AR 15s were much use against our climatic adversary. Sure they are, you can always shoot the rain. Then, almost as though it had never been, the storm retreated, beaten, no doubt, by Texan firepower and resolve. And the next day dawned.
Do you remember the way it used to be, when someone you didn't like got elected into office? Sure, it wasn't easy but you got on with it and made the best of a bad day. Now? Not so much, you freak out, swallow your tongue, pull out your hair, break out in hives and torch the nearest convenient Tesla. Look, here's a video:
"On a Greyhound bus." I caught one in 1999, from Detroit to Dallas. Got off in Nashville and a passenger looked me up and down, "RagTag bobtail!" She had a point, I was wearing an RAF greatcoat, I think it was winter. The rest is history.
Your Pal,
LSP
So James Comey, former head of the FBI, was walking along a beach in somewhere inconsequential like Delaware and saw all these sea shells lined up spelling 86 47. The ex-Stasi supremo posted this kill message on Insta, of all places.
Leaving aside Comey's curious addiction to Instagram, what was he thinking? That it was somehow OK to broadcast an 86 POTUS message to all the world, on the internet? Apparently so. I call hubris and fondly imagine Kash and Bondi bringing this loathsome Deep State, Illuminati shill to justice. Don't hold your breath.
In other news, Leftists are enraged, shrieking, swallowing their tongues and breaking out in hives at the advent of white South Africans being granted refugee status in this country. You'll note The Episcopal Church (TEC) is especially upset about this. Go figure. But what can I say?
Just taking it easy here, eating steaks, cleaning guns and scorning Libs. Simple math, and that's alright.
Some of you may have noticed New York's brave and beautiful bronze state of a hefty black woman. Kamala's field working cousin? Others have wondered if the attractive statue lacks representative realism. Perhaps this statue would be more appropriate?
You be the judge, and thanks, Dr. Swankenstein, for the heads up.
Your Old Pal,
LSP
I ran this by a music pal who knows his stuff. He replied, "These kids can do everything," yeah they can. With apologies to everyone.
Cheers,
