Putin Nails It - New Constantine

Russian strongman and former KGB Colonel Vladimir Putin hits this one out of the ballpark, quietly slamming the West as little more than captured by insane Bolshevik radicals, the same crew of possessed thieves which tortured his country from 1917 to beyond. Here's a snapshot of his Valdai speech, worth the length, imo:

The advocates of so-called ‘social progress’ believe they are introducing humanity to some kind of a new and better consciousness. Godspeed, hoist the flags as we say, go right ahead. The only thing that I want to say now is that their prescriptions are not new at all. It may come as a surprise to some people, but Russia has been there already. After the 1917 revolution, the Bolsheviks, relying on the dogmas of Marx and Engels, also said that they would change existing ways and customs and not just political and economic ones, but the very notion of human morality and the foundations of a healthy society. The destruction of age-old values, religion and relations between people, up to and including the total rejection of family (we had that, too), encouragement to inform on loved ones – all this was proclaimed progress and, by the way, was widely supported around the world back then and was quite fashionable, same as today. By the way, the Bolsheviks were absolutely intolerant of opinions other than theirs.

This, I believe, should call to mind some of what we are witnessing now. Looking at what is happening in a number of Western countries, we are amazed to see the domestic practices, which we, fortunately, have left, I hope, in the distant past. The fight for equality and against discrimination has turned into aggressive dogmatism bordering on absurdity, when the works of the great authors of the past – such as Shakespeare – are no longer taught at schools or universities, because their ideas are believed to be backward. The classics are declared backward and ignorant of the importance of gender or race. In Hollywood memos are distributed about proper storytelling and how many characters of what colour or gender should be in a movie. This is even worse than the agitprop department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

He goes on, as if a New Constantine:

In a number of Western countries, the debate over men’s and women’s rights has turned into a perfect phantasmagoria. Look, beware of going where the Bolsheviks once planned to go – not only communalising chickens, but also communalising women. One more step and you will be there.

Zealots of these new approaches even go so far as to want to abolish these concepts altogether. Anyone who dares mention that men and women actually exist, which is a biological fact, risk being ostracised. “Parent number one” and “parent number two,” “'birthing parent” instead of “mother,” and “human milk” replacing “breastmilk” because it might upset the people who are unsure about their own gender. I repeat, this is nothing new; in the 1920s, the so-called Soviet Kulturtraegers also invented some newspeak believing they were creating a new consciousness and changing values that way. And, as I have already said, they made such a mess it still makes one shudder at times.

Not to mention some truly monstrous things when children are taught from an early age that a boy can easily become a girl and vice versa. That is, the teachers actually impose on them a choice we all supposedly have. They do so while shutting the parents out of the process and forcing the child to make decisions that can upend their entire life. They do not even bother to consult with child psychologists – is a child at this age even capable of making a decision of this kind? Calling a spade a spade, this verges on a crime against humanity, and it is being done in the name and under the banner of progress.

I repeat, this is nothing new. Right in the X-Ring, Mr. Putin, and again, "the monstrous things when children are taught from an early age that a boy can easily become a girl and vice versa."

Is there any other world leader who's standing up to Bolshevik tyranny, cultural or whatever, however sponsored, than Putin? The same Putin who is, curiously, a Mass going catholic Christian.

How ironic it'd be if the former SovBloc and Islam converted to become the twin drivers of a new evangelism. It'd be... divine logic.

GPMG,

LSP

Beware, it would be Russian collusion to agree with him.

I hate it when our national pants are pulled down to our knees, but there you go.

But Putin has an awful record himself. How do you square that with his words?
Perhaps he is just profiting from the moment as he seeks his own power. I would say be very cautious holding him up as an example.

Sting featuring prominently in the previous post, I recall a dirge of his about the only hope for avoiding a nuclear exchange was if the Russians loved their children too.

Turns out the Russkies love their children a bit more than our dear leaders love ours. Who'd have thought.

When Putin in pointing out the lunacy we see all-around...that's saying something. He must be in hysterics by now, didn't have to lift a finger.

Putin speaks pure, simple logic imo. No need to apply other attributes.

To test it out, let's create a shortage of critical goods, say food for example. Then lets see how important Racism, Sexism, Phobias, social justice, political correctness and all these other nonsensical people controlling, progress destroying concepsts are to starving people. Would they accept a sandwich from someone they suspect is a Racisss? I bets they would.

The USSR won the Cold War 30+ years after they abandoned communism, the seeds were planted in the US almost a century ago and have steadily grown into the disfunctional mess we see today.

I join Julie Culshaw, above, in having some caution about Putin. Russia today is an oligarchy, with Putin as its dictator. He has been willing to imprison his opponents in Russia and to poison them abroad. His comments about the current insanity in our country are valid. How he can reconcile his Christian faith with some of his actions is open to question. It may be that his conversion to Orthodoxy is more for Russian nationalist reasons rather than for his soul.

The doctor is correct. And the moslem vermin won't win with violence either, they will breed out western civilizations.

Generally: Even a bad man can speak truth.

Specifically: Was there anything in Putin's speech (at least the part excerpted by LSP) that is untrue?

It is obvious that the very same kinds of people who did the most to create the USSR are now in control in the US, only this time under multiple guises. Is there a vast conspiracy where they meet in a smoke-filled room and plot against the rest of humanity together? Not at all. But the effect is AS IF there were a conspiracy.

Constantine the Great also had an awful record - having his son and his wife executed, fighting civil wars bloody even by Roman standards. But he was one of the most influential figures in history.

You can be right about something even if you're a jerk.

Ed, I'd almost forgotten about the heinous sin of Russian Collusion. But it went on for years, "Trump is a Russian spy!" Dear God, what utter, shrieking, lying insanity. And the GOP doesn't get a pass on that one either. Just saying.

LL, do you remember that painting of a spanking in a Moscow art gallery? I rather liked that.

Caution noted, Julie. Still, Putin's the only world leader of note to publicly stand for Christian value against today's trending rainbow Bolshevik/Maoism. Is he an opportunist profiteer? Good question, and I'm glad I'm not his Confessor!

Now that, WWW, is an excellent point and you're probably wondering why the repellent Sting featured in an anti ADL post. Just because weird and spooky.

Who would've thought that the US would become the home of the revolutionary Left after its demise in the East. Huh.

Paul, I think his Valdai comments are right on the money.

I like the smoke filled room point (think K Street in the olden days), Mike C. Is it beyond the bounds of possibility that the transnational ultra rich meet and talk to discuss the intended destiny of nations and a global "game plan"?

You know, Rothschilds meet with Soros meet with... sort of thing. Of course they do, it'd be weird if they didn't. And it'd be strange if their decisions didn't influence their paid servants in congress and beyond. You get the drift.

A vast conspiracy or not? Maybe a bit of both. But the net effect's pretty much the same, corporate sponsored Bolshevik tyranny masquerading as a gaily colored rainbow pony, sorry, unicorn.

Putin, apparently, stands against the club.

And to your point, Borepatch, he established the Faith across the Empire. No small thing by anyone's standards.

Is Putin the new C? In a way, he's inherited the Third Rome and brought back the Faith, resoundingly. And there's other similarities.

Speaking of Constantine, Robert Graves, I think, describes him as wearing a green wig in court. I don't know if that's accurate but it has a weird ring of truth.

Cheers.
