Church of England Elects First Boy Bishop Since the Middle Ages!

In a surprise move, the Church of England has elected its first Boy Bishop since the Middle Ages.

Rev. Libby Lane, who was a priestess in the Diocese of Chester, has been named as the new Boy Bishop of Stockport, in greater Manchester. After the surprise announcement, the new Boy Bishop said, "So today I pray will not be simply about one woman called up a new ministry in the church but much more than that, an opportunity to acknowledge all that has gone before and to look ahead to what is still to be done."

What beautiful thoughts, Libby!

The Episcopal Church has had Boy Bishops for years.

Good luck, CofE.

Filthy Little Beast

Filthy

It's all very well to swing by the range on the way back home from visiting the flock and it's a lot of fun to unleash the power of the deadly black "assault rifle." No doubt about it, a great way to unwind, but the gas operated bullet burner gets real dirty, real fast.

Dirty

That's bad, because a dirty weapon can quickly become a jamming, malfunctioning, failure to eject shell casings nightmare and that's no good.

Unclean

I've noticed it can make all the difference, especially with cheap ammo; a dirty AR tends to stick on nasty, cheap, steel cased Russian ammo. At least mine does, but hey, give it a scrub, oil it up and everything works just fine.

Nasty

With that in mind, I gave the filthy thing a good cleaning on the tailgate this afternoon.

Loser

Good to see that the fast declining Episcopal Church (TEC) has lost another lawsuit, this time they're losers in the Diocese of Quincy. More on that later.

Episcopal Visitation

Jack Iker, Real Bishop

Every year the Bishop, Jack Iker,  makes the long trek out of Fort Worth into the missionary hinterland that is the South Western tip of the spear of the Diocese of Fort Worth. He did so today and the conversation went like this.

LSP:  Welcome to our little slice of paradise, yer grace!

+Iker:  I hear roosters!!

LSP:  Just keepin' it real, yer honor.

+Iker:  Very good!

Seriously, the roosters kick up a heckuvva racket of a morning; hard to make yourself heard saying Mass, but the bishop did well and preached admirably on love.

Jefferts Schori, Boy Bishop

Speaking of love, the Diocese of Fort Worth is being sued by Presiding Boy Bishop Jefferts Schori and her gang of libs. The case is before the Texas Supreme Court and who knows, they might reach a decision anytime soon. If it goes against us we lose everything to the libs, including the LSP compound. That, to my mind, would be a shame.

God bless,

Yoko, Paglia, Schori, Lee Enfield

The news is coming in fast and, well, furious. Texan school kids are getting in trouble for not carrying about microchip i.d. cards, the FAA tells us that the Land of the Free and the Brave will soon have 30,000, yes, 30,000 drones patrolling its airspace, Yoko Ono's awarded her fellow Illuminati, Lady GaGa, with a peace prize and famed Madonna fan and lesbyterian Camille Paglia has given up on Obama.

Smile, Yoko.
Oh, and there's that rogue monkey "copping an attitude" somewhere in Florida, to say nothing of impending fiscal doom and another war in the Middle East.

Mistress Chronos Has Frowned On Camille
I'm worried about all these things and more, such as Jefferts Schori's potemkin diocese suing my diocese for all our buildings and assets. Who knows, if the courts go their way I'll be handily out of a parsonage, Lonestar or otherwise.

Boy Bishop Litigator
But in all of this, one question looms large. What to do with the 2nd Lee Enfield sporter. It's a No. 4 Mk.1 that was, I think, a bring-back from WWII and then sportered. The bore's good, it shoots well enough, though a little low -- just compensate, LSP -- and the furniture's O.K., typical post-war sporter. I think the forestock's a little shrunken, but usable.

I could leave it "as is" and keep it as a hi-power truck gun. I could get the barrel shortened an inch or two and re-crowned, put a synth stock on it and have a handy knock-about brush gun carbine. I could do the same but with wood instead of synth, and so on. The variation's are pretty endless.

So I'm open to advice; if you had a No. 4 sporter that needed fixing up, where would you take it, on a simple country parson's stipend?
