Alcatraz

That’s too much bacon.

Please just bring me some kale chips.

Said no one ever. (LL)

47's bold actions to deport violent illegal alien criminals has been repeatedly blocked by partisan Democrat judges who want violent illegal alien criminals to remain in our country. Problem. Solution? Reopen Alcatraz. Laura Loomer reports:

President Trump just called for the notorious Alcatraz prison to be restored and reopened.

He wants it to be reopened to house the most dangerous criminals in our country so that they literally cannot return to polite society to harm anyone ever again unless they swim through the shark infested waters outside of Alcatraz prison.

Rumor has it that prisoners who tried to escape from Alcatraz either drowned or were eaten by sharks.

Good call, but is this iconic prison large enough?

You be the judge,

LSP

PS. Do you remember when Red Indians took over Alcatraz? I do, just.

Haiku Challenge Result

Yesterday's Haiku Challenge met with spirited participation and good results, seeing a number of excellent offerings in this perennially popular verse form. Ed's submission was most terse, a simple, unadorned emoji:

Yes, sometimes a picture's worth a thousand words. That said, Red's woodsman sent in not one but two excellent haikus. Here, have a look:

Obama Biden

note the master and puppet.

Obama Harris?

And again:

Wolves prey on the weak

The generous are naive

We need more woodsmen.

Wow, what can we say. Keep it coming, woodsman, simply outstanding. Wild wasn't short off the mark either:

Arrests they promised.

Impatient Yoda grows, hmmm?

Well? Waiting we are.

Yes, we are. Beauty, you see, meets truth. And then there's LL, who sums the whole thing up in an act of poetic Zen. Behold:

Concentrated mist

clear jewel on a leafpoint

drip, the river begins.

Beautiful, and keen-eyed readers will note LL's riff on my initial, let's get the haikus rolling, offering, "mist." What is this, some kind of poetry jam? Apparently, and I'll throw one more into the ring:

Kier Starmer is sad

He lost at the ballot box

Teeth gnash in darkness.

Excellent haikus from everyone and congrats to woodsman for prolix versifying. But I have to say LL is the winner. Good work, Mr. Wolf, you win this initial and coveted LSP Haiku award.

Cheers,

LSP

Haiku Time

It's that contemplative time of the week when we sit back, gaze on the Feng Shui of our respective compounds and compose haikus. Remember them? They're short, beautiful, terse, evocative poems comprised of 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the next and 5 in conclusion. Let's get going. Inspired by Mike-C, I'll kick off:

England won the cup

It wasn't even Moslem

In the mists of time

"In" is perhaps weak, if center mass. Do feel free to suggest better verse and, of course, send in your own haikus. The challenge, dear friends, is on.
