COEXIST

 

Do you remember those annoying COEXIST bumper stickers? Sure you do, along with their vapid dropped-on-head-as-infant assumption, if only we could all agree to get along then there'd be world peace. Behold 2000 years of Western thought devolve to the level of a Miss World contest. And the problem with this is that it's utterly wrong. 

There are, unfortunately, bad actors running around; Jihad head-chopping third world savages can't coexist with civilized people. Kali worshipping Thugs can't coexist with people who believe murder sacrifice to a demon is a bad thing. Suttee widow burning can't ride alongside Christian people who value life, and neither can a Moloch worshipping culture of death.

You get the point, COEXIST has great rainbow pony potential and's guaranteed popular with every 16 year old girl or Bristol U undergrad, but it's rubbish. All religions, cultures and people aren't the same, they're often diametrically opposed. So when you throw them together what happens?

Belfast wakes up to an eye-gouging beheader Sudanese savage. Austin Metcalf gets stabbed in the heart at a sports event in Dallas. 13% of our US population commits what, 50 or 60% of violent crime, maybe more. Lee Rigby, remember him?, gets beheaded/macheted in greater London and on.

Point being, diversity is not our strength, unity is, unity around what's good, right and true. COEXIST doesn't give us that, but the Faith which built Europe and it's colonies, the Anglosphere, does. The West has effectively rejected that since at least 1945 and look where it's got us. Nowhere good and it'll surely get worse. Time to correct that.

What Have We Here?

 

You know what it's like. Roll up to the familial homestead for Easter festivity and there it is, one of the guests has a "prays well together" sticker on their car. Really? When was the last time you offered one up at the local mosque while sacrificing to Kali?

Being a polite and hospitable LSP, I didn't say that and resisted the urge to sharpie in some runes on the offensive signage. Still, you can imagine the scene, "What, you don't pray pray well with Armanen worshippers of the Victorious Sun? Maybe you need to be more inclusive." You get the point, but she wouldn't have done, because all religions same. Like, we all pray! And I want world peace! 

So let's test the theory out, here's some Aztec worship. Have a look:

Cortez and the gang felt they had come across a nation of devil worshippers and perhaps they had, the walls of Mexico City's great pyramid dripped with the blood of an estimated 20,000 human sacrifices, annually. They ate the victims too, coexist with that.

Point being, all religions are not the same and given that everyone has one, better choose wisely as opposed to pretending that none of it really matters.

Operation Tree

 

The drive to Dallas was easy. Roadworks, three lane to one lane traffic jams, and being stuck behind a Commie Jeep with COEXIST on its bumper. COEXIST? Idea being that all people of all religions can just agree to get along. Good call, sounds so reasonable.

But what if you worship the Owl God, Mictlāntēcutli, what then? Or Kali? What about that? Of course they never stop to ask the question, and so we drove on to Dallas.

Its towers were shrouded in mist, like the Andes, and so was the 'sprawl itself. I made it to Ma LSP's place by instinct. Right, left, forward, get to the objective. Which we did, and  the mission? Get a tree. Easier said than done. Hardly a fir to be found.

Still, we found one and set it up. It's gleaming now, like a colonizer.

What's it to be Germany?

Europe, and Germany in particular, is presented with a choice. Do you want this?

Or do you want this?

Or is there a middle way, an Anglican via media, that runs through the House of War? History argues otherwise. That aside, I'd argue that the left would prefer Islam, such is their hatred of the Faith from which they were born.

Chesterton wrote about it in the Flying Inn, and while you reflect on that, ponder the Pentagram in the COEXIST logo.

What. Savages.

It's the last Sunday of Epiphany and the Religion of Peace is at it again, parading Yazidis in cages, prior to being burned alive, and beheading 21 Coptic Christians in Libya. And lest we forget, shooting up a cafe in Copenhagen and threatening to behead and rape a pop singer.

Remember, these atrocities committed by the Islamic State in the name of Islam have nothing whatsoever to do with Islam.

That's because Islam is all about peace, similar to Haight Ashbury and the Summer of Love, only a whole lot more peaceful.

So why can't we all just COEXIST? You know, like Combo? Ask the Prophet; who was like Gandhi but more peaceful.
