Would You Go To A Pop Festival?

when there's no more room in hell the dead shall walk the earth

The phone rang, "Hey, gotta minute?" Yes, it was Canada and I replied, "Sure, but only a minute or two because I have to drive out to the lake and say Mass. That's if I don't melt first, the cab's maybe 120*."

My Northern cohort thought about this for a moment, "That's hideous. Turn on the engine and AC, have a smoke and let it cool down, try that." I did, and Alberta continued, "Here's what's happening, the kids are going to Shambhala, it's like Burning Man but maybe worse, so I'm babysitting."

The cab cooled and I replied, "You'd have to pay me a whole lotta cash to go to a place like that." Yes, of course, and now it's over to you, the reader.

Would you go to a pop festival and if so, how? Here at DLC (Dallas Light Cavalry) HQ we feel it'd have to involve a small fleet of flatbeds, a powerful sound system  playing uplifting Imperial music, Curzon style, and several tents, to say nothing of staff.

But that's us. As ever, your call,

The Second Homily - 8 Mile

The Second Homily - Paras doing their thing in Helmand with some help by famed Detroit rocker Eminem. 8 Mile? Probably about the same kill rate, disturbingly.

Speaking of which, the Young Warrior's doing well in Korea and's just come off a field exercise, which included a shoot. He retained Expert Marksman. Well done, boy. Now get that degree and a commission, or not, your call.

Regardless, sorry, Paras, move over for the Glorious Gloucesters which, ahem, no longer exist. I'm not very happy about that, obviously, despite having command of a vastly successful and prestigious irregular cavalry unit. You want to argue? See the RHSM.

Think positive, raise the Black Flag and ride hard.

First Dismounted Dragoons DLC forever,

Colonels

You know me, so desperately reactionary as to think wimmin shouldn't be priests or soldiers or, in Hillary's case, presidents. But what about colonels?

Yes, honorary colonels of horse, like Empress Viktoria. Perhaps you don't think she looks smart and brave in her Deaths Head Hussar rig.

That would be your call and I disagree. Melania, by the way, is the honorary colonel of an irregular Texan cavalry unit. D'ye think that improves morale?

Right dress,
