Terminal D

Terminal D at DFW, normally a heaving mass of travelers trying to board jets with all the comfort and convenience of a 1982 bus ride from Cheltenham to Canterbury, was eerie empty. Seriously, you could've fired a canon off in the departures concourse and not hit anyone, much.

But hey, gotta wear a mask in case you give a person who's been vaccinated against Covid, you know, Covid. That's the beauty of these vaccines, they stop you getting the deadly disease which 99.9% doesn't kill you. Except that they don't, which is why you have to submit a negative PCR test and be vaxxed up before you travel to Canada. Until April 1st.

You'll note, keen-eyed readers, that April 1 is April Fools' Day. Huh. When, dear Lord, will this Kabuki Theater end?

Your Old Friend,

LSP

The Kabuki Theater is permanent now and has set up residence in the Potemkin village that is the current "administration".

Are the airlines afraid of the government? Or lawyers?

I suspect the airlines are in fear of being sued by someone who gets covid and had travelled on a plane within some number of days.

"YOU PACKED THEM ALL IN THERE AND DIDN'T REQUIRE [THE USELESS] MASKS !!! MY CLIENT GOT COVID FROM IT !!!!!"

So we have the wads in government, the dipsticks in management of various companies, and most of all, the lawyers that have FUBARed Every. Single. Thing. known to man or beast.

Like being waterboarded and forced to watch a Marx Bros movie at the same time.

Linda, I managed to emerge unscathed from I35 and the Metrosprawl. Thank God.

I've never seen anything like it, Wild, just bizarre. Pan to insane person doing sign language.

Sorry, DOS, this post was misleading, I was just a taxi! Still, there'll be a report back.

Kid, I may well have to quote you!

Wish I'd been on the plane, WSF, but I was just the ferryman.

It's weird, Ed, but the passenger walked through Canadian customs, Canadian citizen line, flashing a US passport. "Welcome home, Sir."

Huh.

I remember when I lived in Dallas. My opinion was that the person who designed the airport should be shot, drawn and quartered, and then burned on a pyre. And then we get nasty.

N, there was a time, early '70s, when that airport seemed VERY modern and somehow free. I know this because we used to visit from England and it was big fun. The adults would be greeted by family with "roadies" (gin & tonic), us kids with Dr. Pepper and off we'd go. You could see the Dallas skyline change and grow year by year. Quite a thing.

Now it's all gone to Hell, imo. What an awful airport and Covid tyranny's made it even worse.
