St. Michael's Conference 2015

I'm teaching at the St. Michael's Conference, Southwest, and get to be MC at the event's liturgy. We have a lot of that, daily Morning Prayer, Solemn High Mass, Solemn Evensong and Compline. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament too, on Wednesday; so there's no shortage of worship.

We have 84 kids this year, and 26 counselors and clergy. It's a bit of an Anglo-Catholic "Basic", or boot camp, and very powerful.

But there's no trans naming ceremonies, no  Gaia goddess worship, no clown liturgies, no goofy nuns getting Wiccan around peace poles, no liturgical dance, or whatever.

There is the Faith, and I'll post more as I get the time.

God bless,

LSP

Does Blue Faithful get to go with you?

How can worship be valid these days without tranny naming ceremonies, Gaia goddess worship, lesbian liturgical dance, burning black candles and sacrificing a chicken at midnight, and goofy nuns getting Wiccan around peace poles? Did you invite local Muslims to join you as you pull down all Christian emblems and allow them to turn your church into a Mosque? I didn't hear the mention of you all embracing Black Liberation Theology and the secret teachings of "Black Jesus". What are you all up to? This is very suspicious behavior. Expect a visit from the IRS to yank your tax free status.

Really? What's the point then?

(Only kiiiiiding :-)

LSP, are you denying priestesses, witches and necromancers a voice (at the pulpit)? What about reading tea leaves, breaking out the ouji board and casting chicken bones? Don't tell me that you all don't have a kettle brewing eye of newt, etc. there in the vestry? That is not very progressive. And I didn't notice you all are wearing the rainbow cassocks and I didn't Bishop Iker wearing a mitre with a unicorn on it. WWWD (What would Welby do)?

I'm guessing that you didn't pay Bruce C. Jenner his normal fee to come and give you a motivational speech in drag.

As a side note (can be verified) Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday said that Tranny Bruce was expected to rake in $500 million by becoming a woman. Big business and he's out kash-ing the Kardashians, which I suspect was part of his strategy all along. Poor, soulless creatures.

I would love to go to an Anglo-Catholic boot camp, since I went to an excellent (but very low church seminary). Maybe I could find camp where they would teach me to understand the Anglican Breviary I own.
Sounds like a good gig, glad there are so many young people there.
Best,
MP

Keep on doing the good things, Padre! Is there a hint of gun powder in the holy water?

If you want to add a maritime component to your boot camp (we can use mud if there's not enough water), I will offer amphibious advice to the daring and willing. The course can offer instruction into (through the use of a Dragger LAR V) moving through deep mud without disturbing the surface to surprise and amaze your flock. I'm sure that it would be a hit in Texas. Even more now that there is a lot of mud here and there.

Blue got to stay at a friend's ranch, on a kind of country dog retreat, Julie.

You'd like the worship here, Adrienne -- Tridentine but in English.

LL, I read about heroic Jenner's cash prize, nothing quite like being oppressed! And I think that a mud/water component would come in handy. Good idea.

The Anglican Breviary is notoriously difficult to comprehend, Padre. I learn how to use it, every few years or so, and then forget... We use the '28 Prayer Book Office here, Solemn style in the evenings -- the kids like it.

Cheers.

I did bring a couple of pistols, Brighid...

LSP, you need a brace of .45 Colt (long Colt) revolvers with ivory hand grips in a regular holster worn outside of your church clothes to set the tone for the service. It would increase attendance in TX.

Maybe you can have a rifle rack built onto the back of a pulpit chair.

Did somebody say mud and water? LSP can I still get in or is it too late to register for this? :-)
