Tales of Brave Uysses

Such is our path. And for me that meant Mr. JM sending his crew around the vicarage today and yesterday. No kidding, those Mexicans worked day and night to make the Compound presentable. Thanks, guys. So here we go, JWTS (Jungle Warfare Training School) cleared and room to breathe, don't even think of fast talking outta this one.

JM, landowner: "So what's happening here, fella?"

LSP, "We're standing strong for the Red Wave and, in the meanwhile, I gotta learn Spanish."

JM, "You're pretty savvy."

And there you have it. Immediate objective's to learn Spanish, then we'll go from there. By the way, Democrats, have you stopped to consider Spanish speaking people don't necessarily vote commie?

A Short Sunday Sermon

There it is, you've no sooner recovered from the admirable Uganda Police Band than you're in church conjuring with the Saints, the innumerable multitude of the holy who stand before God's throne in the exultant liturgy of heaven. As through a door or window opened up into paradise, we see them in the book of Revelation:

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb!"

Behold the glory of the beatific vision, and with it we're reminded that sanctity is our common vocation, we're all called to be saints, but how? By imitating Christ, patterning our lives after the pattern of Christ's life, and our Savior reveals his character to us in the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12).

Blessed are the poor in spirit, the humble. This is Jesus who "humbled himself taking the form of a servant and became obedient even unto death." Blessed are those who mourn, and Christ does precisely that, he grieves for the sin of the world and its deadly effect. Think on the two awful and piercing words at the death of Lazarus, "Jesus wept." Blessed are the meek or gentle? Such is Jesus, a gentle man as opposed to an arrogant, aggressive, boastful man, "Come to me for I am gentle and lowly in heart."

Again, "Zeal for your house has consumed me." Our Lord hungers and thirsts for righteousness as he drives the moneylenders out of the Temple. And mercy? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," and he doesn't, though qualified to do so. Instead, the sinless man, in utter purity, brings peace to the world, uniting fallen humanity to the Father on the cross where he dies for the forgiveness of our sins.

Humility, compassion, gentleness, righteousness, mercy, purity and peace, the character of Christ and the path of holiness which Jesus invites us to walk. Those who do become saints, indwelt, purified and redeemed by the Holy One of Israel.

Can it be done? Yes. The Saints, from righteous Abel through the Patriarchs, Prophets, Apostles, and Martyrs, up to the holy men and women of today show us that sanctity, by the grace of God, is very real. Christ invites us to follow him so that we may attain it and the crown of glory which fadeth not away.

God bless,

Edinburgh Garrison RSM - For LL

Behold the power of the RSM, and well done those boys. LL, this short infovid's for you, respect. In other news, we had our diocesan convention this morning and it was incredibly, mercifully short. Upshot? They made me a Rural Dean. What does a Rural Dean even do?

I guess we'll find out. My guess is... fish, shoot, listen to Waylon, ride again, drive rigs, say Mass and get rural on a Dean tip. But seriously, if you'd said in the mid '90s and beyond that I'd be Priest-in-Charge of two country missions between Dallas and Waco, well, I'd have laughed.

How preposterous. Hey, the joke was on me, and I thank God for it. No kidding.

All Souls

It's the Solemnity of All Souls, Dies Irae, and we pray for the faithful departed. May they rest in peace and rise in glory, most especially our many absent brothers and sisters. Farrer, as always, raises the bar:

The arithmetic of death perplexes our brains. What can we do but throw ourselves upon the infinity of God? It is only to a finite mind that number is an obstacle, or multiplicity a distraction. Our mind is like a box of limited content, out of which one thing must be emptied before another can find a place. The universe of creatures is queuing for a turn of our attention, and no appreciable part of the queue will ever get a turn. But no queue forms before the throne of everlasting mercy, because the nature of an infinite mind is to be simply aware of everything that is.

Everything is simply present to an infinite mind, because it exists; or rather, exists because it is present to that making mind. And though by some process of averaging and calculation I should compute the grains of sand, it would be like the arithmetic of the departed souls, an empty sum; I could not tell them as they are told in the infinity of God’s counsels, each one separately present as what it is, and simply because it is.

O GOD, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful: grant to
the souls of Thy servants and handmaidens the remission of
all their sins: that, through pious supplications, they may obtain
that pardon which they have always desired: Who livest and
reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the
Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.

Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon them.

May they rest in peace,

Alright Boys!

You Murderous Hypocrites

Semi keen-eyed readers will have noticed the appallingly millionaire socialist Atlantic crying out for pandemic forgiveness. "Let's Declare an Amnesty," writes prof Emily Oster, suggesting we all just forgive and forget COVID crimes:

"Let’s acknowledge that we made complicated choices in the face of deep uncertainty, and then try to work together to build back and move forward."

But some aren't convinced, perhaps they remember the Atlantic's owner sailing down the Riviera on her mega yacht even as her magazine was pushing for the strictest lockdowns. Don't say ultra-rich leftist hypocrite. Here's Zerohedge on the response, a snapshot:

In one epic Twitter thread, Claremont Institute Senior Fellow Matthew J. Peterson (@docMJP) excoriates Oster's entire premise;

Hey—sorry you lost your job b/c of the vax that doesn’t work and your grandmother died alone and you couldn’t have a funeral and your brother’s business was needlessly destroyed and your kids have weird heart problems—but let’s just admit we were all wrong and call a truce, eh?

It’s too bad we shut the entire economy down & took on tyrannical powers that have never been used before in this country—looking back, you should have been able to go to church and use public parks while we let people riot in the streets—but it was a confusing time for everyone.

Hey I'm sorry we scared the hell out of you & lied for years & persecuted & censored anyone who disagreed but there was an election going on & we really wanted to beat Donald Trump so it was important to radically politicize the science even if it destroyed your children's lives.

OK, yes we said unvaccinated people should die & not get healthcare while never questioning Big Pharma once but we are compassionate people which is why even though we shut down the entire economy we also bankrupted the nation & caused inflation. You're welcome! Let's be friends.

As QTR's Fringe Finance notes, Oster’s plea for the decency that her ilk failed to offer up to most Americans during the throws of the pandemic comes at a point where the Covid narrative has been all but lost by the Democrats and the mainstream media.

Above emph mine. In related news and again via Zero, Democrats supported this during the COVID freakout, which was, remember, a virus with a 99% survival rate:

  • Fines for the unvaccinated: Fifty-eight percent (58%) of voters would oppose a proposal for federal or state governments to fine Americans who choose not to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • House arrest: Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters would favor a government policy requiring that citizens remain confined to their homes at all times, except for emergencies, if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Imprisonment for questioning the vaccine: Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine or imprison individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.

  • Forced quarantine: Forty-five percent (45%) of Democrats would favor governments requiring citizens to temporarily live in designated facilities or locations if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Stripping people of their children: Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Democratic voters would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s much more than twice the level of support in the rest of the electorate – seven percent (7%) of Republicans and 11% of unaffiliated voters – for such a policy.

Forgiveness is a virtue. Does it mean that murdering, hypocrite, psychotically rich people and their bought and paid for satraps shouldn't be held accountable for their crimes? All in light of faux repentance?

BTW, I haven't seen my youngest boy in three years, thanks to this totalitarian, State Stasi insanity and the sockist fool in Ottawa. Whatever, personal concerns aside.

You be the judge,

VERY SCARY

It's Halloween and hence Fright Night, that night of the year when youngsters go out looking for treats, dressed as demons. Let's hope they don't go online and find super scary multi-millionaire socialist Madonna. Here she is:

What can we say, scary is as scary does?

Nasty Scary

Cheese slides off cracker fearsome

Mind how you go, gentle readers, and be careful on this scariest night, the Eve of All Saints. Together we will survive this. By the way, look up #witchtiktok and ask yourself, "Is it all a larf until you wake up and find a demon gnawing on your thigh?"

Three Way?

so utterly not mob

The plot sickeneth. According to NBC reporter Tom Winter, a third mystery man was present at Pelosi's upscale dachau when crazed hippy underwear attacker David DePape went full hammertime on Paul, nothing whatsoever to do with the mob, Pelosi.

Via Gateway Pundit:

NBC News reporter Tom Winter reported that San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said in an interview that accused attacker David DePape, 42, ‘was able to get into the Pelosi bedroom where Paul Pelosi was.’ Jenkins said investigators have been able to talk with DePape.

Winter also confirmed that a third person was in the Pelosi home at the time of the attack on the 82-year-old husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-). Nancy Pelosi was reportedly in Washington, D.C. at the time of the attack early Friday morning. S.F. police said late Friday an “unknown person” answered the door when police arrived in response to a mysterious 911 call by Paul Pelosi. Police said Pelosi was able to excuse himself from DePape and go into a bathroom where is cellphone was charging to initiate the 911 call where Pelosi allegedly spoke in code and described the intruder as “David” who advised he is a “friend”.

Why was a berserk Canadian nudist hippy in billionaire bolshevik Paul Pelosi's bedroom, in his underwear? Who is the missing mystery person? Will DePape emerge from gaol alive? For that matter, will Paul Pelosi recover from brain surgery?

Serious questions and we have to wonder at Paul's remarkable 82 year old, not mafia for a second, stamina. Mr. Frank Zappa sings a song about San Francisco here.

It's Hammertime!

Totally Not Mob

Multi millionaire socialist Paul Pelosi, who has nothing whatsoever to do with the mob, just got hammered. Yes, with a literal hammer by a guy wearing underwear at 2 am in San Francisco. Nothing weird about that, at all, getting hammered in his mansion by some underwear freak called David DePape.  Who is this DePape?

DePape & Gypsy

A Canadian nudist, apparently, who hung out at a hippie setup in Berkeley and made hideous jewelry out of hemp. So far so good, and then you discover DePape's wife figure, amateur pornstar Oxane "Gypsy" Taub, accuses her onetime lover of pedophilia and satanism. She's in gaol for violating a restraining order, you can read all about Gypsy here.

For an autist drill down visit /pol. In the meanwhile, how did a hippy wearing underwear get into Pelosi's house? OK, it's San Francisco but still, surely he had his clothes on while he was walking around the ritzy rich socialist Pelosi neighborhood in the dead of night. Did he get into the Pelosi mansion and then remove his clothes, mostly?

And how did he get into the house of the third most important political figure in the US in the first place? By breaking a window in the back of the place, allegedly, but if so, why was the glass on the swanky garden door broken out from the inside? Huh.

For that matter, why aren't there any surveillance videos of the crazed underwear attacker breaking and entering? And what about his "manifesto"? Was he holding it in his hemp stained hand as he strolled through the streets of Pelositown? Good question.

DePape Hangout

Then there's multi millionaire Paul Pelosi's 911 call. The massively rich investor socialist, who has nothing to do with the mob, made this call, evidently, from a bathroom in his mansion while DePape was in the house. Excuse me? You're in the midst of a crazed hippie underwear break-in and somehow manage to take a handy bathroom time out and call the cops? Far out.

Gypsy

I guess it just kinda happened or, on the other hand, did a late night drug fueled rainbow sex romp go badly wrong? Surely not, after all, this is San Francisco. DePape's in hospital as is Paul Pelosi, who's recovering from brain surgery.

Weird scenes inside the goldmine and we have to ask, will DePape get out of there alive.

In the meanwhile,

#HAMMERTIME
