Yeah, the Weather escalated, firing down in this sleepy little Texan market towne. Are we prepared?
You better believe it we are. Hat on head and .44 style. Hey, we can always shoot the snow if it gets ahead of itself. But more on this icy deluge later. In the meanwhile, we're fixing to roast a chicken while we still have power. See you on the other side.
Royal Scots forever,

If you lose power and heat, don't make the mistake that was made a few years back by a lot of Texans, who let their pipes freeze. Shut off the water heater, shut off the water where it comes into the house, and DRAIN the system. (Open a couple of taps - one down low) And fill up some buckets for the commode and some jugs/pans for the people.
Good luck
-2 here this morning in South Central Kansas with about 4 inches or so on the ground. I feelz your pain.
From the club propaganda: "IDEAL FOR EVENTS, CONFERENCES,
OR JUST A MUCH NEEDED SILENCE." Yes. Muchly needed. More of that, please.
4° here in east Kansas. My daughter lives in the Wichita area likely not far from Wild Wild West above. Haven't heard from her yet today.

Support Is More Than A Word.
It Is Gratitude Spoken Clearly, and Defended by the Brave People in the Police Department, and in ICE..
It Is Remembering That Safety, Freedom, And Peace Are Not Accidental.
They Are Protected Daily By Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and yes even people from ICE Serving Either Far From Home, or in our Home Towns Cities.
Police Officers, National Guard members, and Men from ICE Facing Uncertainty Every Shift,
Firefighters Walking Into Flames,
And Emergency Responders Bringing Calm Where There Is Chaos.
They Don’t Ask For Praise, they are only Doing Their Jobs..
They Ask For Trust. For Respect. For The Simple Recognition That Their Work Matters —
That They Matter. Amd That We Support Them For The Job That They Are Doing Tp Protect Us from the Dangerous Vcriminals Lurking From Within.
We Honor The Sacrifices No One Sees,
The Sleepless Nights, The Quiet Bravery, And For The Familiem Waiting For Them Tp Come Home Alive And Well.
And The Love They Give To A World That Too Often Forgets To Say Thank You.
So Let It Be Known We See You. And We Appreciate You.
We Stand With You. And We Thank You.
And We Are Grateful Beyond Words For Every Life You Protect,
Every Risk You Take,
And Every Promise You Keep, To Keep Us Safe, And Sound.
You need a flame thrower to hold back the Ice and sabertooth tigers. I guess that a .44 magnum qualifies as a "flame thrower".
Zendo, we made it! Didn't drain the system but left taps dripping etc, also lots of water in jugs and all of that. Wow, shades of 2021, eh? If that'd gone on for another week there would've been trouble. As it was, we emerged unscathed, but a lot of plumbers had a lot of work.
Mr. Wild, the RSC is a GEM. I say that unreservedly. You get great recip in London and, if in Edinburgh, a lovely place to stay and all for very reasonable price (200 or so a year). I'll put you up if you like, DM if you're on.
Jim, I hear WF was hit pretty hard, hope she's OK.
Patty, I was moved by that. Thank you.
Well yes, LL, exactly. And this puts me in mind of an halcyon afternoon firing MASSIVE revolvers against playing cards and Glocks at kettles. Let's do it again.
