Here We Go Now

Just some random space rock, Lord of Light. Happens of the seventh year and what's wrong with the juke box!

At first recitation, that title sounded like a Latin benediction. Now it's my new ear-worm and I'm wondering if a certain Right Reverund might playfully slip that into services someplace to see if anybody is paying attention.

Clearly, I'm way overdue for a counseling session.

@WWW...Now I'll have The Sound of Music in my head all day.

But that ditty - the Hawkwind one - is not my cup of tea, albeit weirdly interesting. A lot of talent out there lurking beyond Top 40. Like this one from Nightwish (serious talent, especially Floor Jansen who is unreal):

It's a curious thing, Wild, this kind of thing has been known to happen... so we're clearly in the same boat.

Hawkwind were a phenom back in the day attracting Michael Moorcock (Ladbroke Grove, obvs) and, famously, Lemmy on bass.

I think Lemmy drove the band to some pretty neat music with Hall of the Mountain Grill, Warrior on the Edge of Time and, of course, the original and spacey Motorhead. Then he left, after/on their American tour(?). Apparently his... consumption was too much even for that crew of narconauts. Anyway, I have a fondness for Doremi, "silvery light."

Cheers.

To be fair, Paul, the Hawks aren't typical LSP commentariat fare. For a start, they're hippies and we don't like that. But then there was Lemmy, who was not a hippy.

He once told me to f*k off outside a pub in Notting Hill in the '80s. That's my claim to fame and I'm sticking to it.

Neat Nightwish vid.
