Amazonian Guard

Mad as you Like
I know you'll condemn me as sadly ignorant but I've only just become aware of the Colonel's (why still a Colonel after so long?) Amazonian Guard. I had no idea that Libya's crazed despot surrounded himself with a female security force until a friend sent me a link to a site accusing MG of being an "International Fashion Criminal", which he is, amongst other things. The Guards are hand picked by Gaddafi and have special training that turns them into killers. They're virgins, evidently.

Will they die defending their Leader? Like crazed last-ditch Nazis? For that matter, will the youth of the Middle East "seize the future from the gnarled hands of old men" (thanks SBW), or will the whole affair turn into a Jihadwatch nightmare?

My favorite part about this whole Libya thing is how Libya is a member of the UN Human Rights Council. If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the UN and its influence, I don't know what else to do.

Agree with the disturbing part. I can't help but think we are nearing the edge of a deep chasm, between the middle east and our own unions.

Thanks Bluesun - The Colonel has a long and upstanding record of championing human rights which is duly recognised by the United notevenremotelycorrupt Nations. Well done Colonel, well done UN.

I know what you mean about 'chasm'. Everything seems dangerously unstable right now.

You'd think that with all that oil cash he'd be able to get a better taylor wouldn't you? look at those sleeves, even I have cloths that fit better than that, but looking at the guards I guess clothes are not a priority!

That guy is like something out of a James Bond or Austin Powers movie.

He's a clown, but a deadly one...

I think you're right SBW. The Killer Virgins of the Guard have obviously taken priority over tailoring in the mind of the Colonel...

Quite insane.

He's obviously mad Silverfiddle and as you say, deadly.

Interesting that so many 'sane' regimes would do business with him, for so long. I guess money/oil talks; not very edifying.
