Finally broke free of Dallas and headed off to the country, where it smells better, you can ride arabian horses and plink about at stock tanks, which is what I did.
Good to get back on the horses, though the one I was riding seemed to think she was through about half way through the ride... some say this is common. Regardless, she changed her mind and we had a good canter about. Most enjoyable.
Afterwards stopped at a roadside Mexican place called 'Karen's', oddly. Senora Karen served an excellent brisket and bean tortilla; I never knew there was such a thing - and now I'm glad I do.
More seriously, and you'll forgive me for dredging up old news, but why is it that the MSM near enough refuse to acknowledge religious motivation to the Fort Hood shooter? Are they right to do this? Perhaps they're being 'strategic' and acting in some veiled kind of way to defend the country? Again, maybe shouting the Islamic war cry before killing people has nothing to do with religion. Or is it simply the case that we've lost confidence in our culture to such an extent that we're unable to rise to the challenge of an ideology implacably opposed to ours and pretend it just isn't there.
Forgive the lack of levity, on a happier note, have a blessed Feast of St. Edmund.
Shoot straight,

Seems like we should look across the Atlantic and see what happens when radicals area allowed to have their way. I've never been to England or France. Seen enough news coverage of burning cars and sign-waving crowds to make me not really want to. I worry that we'll end up in the same condition.
Thanks for that - I'd say we need to wake up to the fact that we have an enemy and then decide to fight it to win.
Viz. 'burning cars' - we're fortunate that our immigration isn't - by and large - from Islamist countries...
God bless.
I've stopped trying to figure out the press and liberals. There is no logic to crazy people...
Stock tank plinking reminds me of windmill plinking at Mama and Papa Foutsc's farm. Ruger 10/22 is my favorite small caliber plinker. Looks like you got a little more than that in the picture.
I don't know how long you've been in Texas, but the US Southwest, especially Texas and New Mexico, does Mexican food better than Mexico, IMHO.
I also agree with your comment here. Europeans would love to trade their Muzzies for our illegals.
Hmmm, windmill plinking sounds fun. I like the Ruger 10/22, though i don't own one. Isn't it America's most popular semi 22? I use an old JC Higgins bolt, which is accurate and reliable - wouldn't mind a semi though.
Interesting Mex food point - I'm sure you're right! And, as for the followers of the prophet - well, "all religions are the same", except that they're not...
Cheers.
Sounds like a lovely day and good to have you back, I've missed your posts LSP.
Hope you have yet another wonderful day!
I have a JC Higgens too, but the spring in the clip went slack and I couldn't find a replacement, so it's a single shot now... No fun
I believe the Ruger 10/22 is the most popular 22 caliber rifle in the US. There is a whole cottage industry dedicated to tricking them out for target competition.
Thanks Darlin - you're always kind.
foutsc - too bad about that spring. Mine went wrong too but I managed to get it fixed - probably more effort/expense than it was worth but I'm fond of the rifle!
"...why is it that the MSM near enough refuse to acknowledge religious motivation to the Fort Hood shooter?"
Interesting question, i'm not quite sure why, personally i think it's because they share the islamists hatred of the west and believe they can work together for a while. I don't think it's all of them and you have throw in a whole lot of ignorance and stupidity in the mix too.
Either way, it's fact that the slimestream media have been carrying water for islam for a long time now.
A shared hatred of the West & Christianity is certainly part of the mix. Then again there seems to be an obstinate refusal to take Islam seriously - not dissimilar to the Left's appeasement of the Nazi's. Well, I'd say we need to wake up.
Had to google "plinking". I now will be able to accurately describe the telltale holes on FM road's stop signs.
I think you can answer your own MSM questions, now. Though, did their abdication of truth facilitate the 'workplace violence' mantra, and was it just political or collaborative?
BTW, my Tor browser may have forced me to publish twice -ignore 1 of 'em
I'd totally forgotten this post, 3rd News, until your comment.
Nothing like a good old plink. Hard to do now because ammo is so pricey.
Both pol & collab, I'd say.
TOR? Well done!
