Keep Your Rifle By Your Side

Just some song.

Sound advice, what? I'd bet the monkey on it.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

Hmm. Perhaps best to keep a civil tongue in your head, mostly, but that other stuff will get you shot by evil. Keep your rifle, by all means, and a good handgun to fight your way to it if caught with your pants down.

That's interesting, Wild, I was thinking handgun too. Keep your Glock/Smith/Beretta/SIG etc by your side.

Speaking of which, I don't carry at church and don't have to, the people are armed to the teeth. Kyrie. Saying that, maybe discrete clerical snubbie wouldn't go amiss.

A shrouded or hammerless Smiff & Weston is traditional but I was totin' a SIG 938 for a bit because it was comparable in height/length to a little Smiff's snubby but flatter, had better sights and carried more boo-lets. But that's been replaced of late by a SIG P365 because even though it's a bit bigger, it carries more boo-lets than the 938 and it's still pretty compact and very snag-free. You might like the 365 better because the manual of arms is closer to the G-lock although some models have a manual thumb safety. Some models of the 365 come pre-slotted for red dot sights for those who like to introduce modern problems to ancient solutions.

Interesting advice, Wild, and I like SIGs. Red dots on pistols? Seems weird to me but... my eldest put one on his Glock and it does perform, tbh.

My eyes aren't up to shooting a rifle accurately but good enough for a shotgun. I don't fear facing my maker because I choose to die on my feet than live on my knees.
