VE Day

England celebrated VE Day today with a military parade in London. Well done, up the Mall they went. Can you imagine the 1945 thing of it? I can, Churchill's voice sounding, parade resounding and with it the end of an era. The mighty British Empire had fought off the rapacious Prussian Hun and won, good work, but who really won the fight? The US and Russia, leaving the UK beggared and in debt.

Some two years later the British withdrew from India, only to become, in Churchill's words, "a second rate power." Is that what the UK is now, a second or third rate power in the clutches of globalist, asset-stripping Satanists, beyond the hope of return?

Let's put it another way. Can the UK break free of its corrupt Uniparty interest and become great again? Local elections say they can and, in the meanwhile, the Household Division exists. More power to it. And if America leads the way, so be it.

Regardless, imagine the scene as the news came in, Victory in Europe. Just a heckuvva thing. I remember asking a landlady in Cheltenham, of all places, what the war had been like, "You can't imagine, we were so glad when it was over." To that point:

And yet England paid for winning for decades. I wonder how much that economic mess contributed to the modern weenieing of England.

Sadly, too many lessons learned have been forgotten or purposefully ignored.

Mayhaps the peasants can revolt against their 'masters' and bring back an England more Churchillian than Chamberlainian.

From what I hear, is Great Britain even 3rd-rate? Of any kind of power? Bad as it seems to be, what would it be these days without the US? (I'm of British descent though pre-Revolution). Seems they bow to Mecca anymore ...

It must have been a tremendous day. I am surprised that they are even celebrating it with all the 1984-ish removal of history.

I saw at Red State that Antarctica's ice mass is increasing. The commies have labeled it 'temporary' for their shills in the media to parrot. One wonders what will happen if the temporary starts lasting for decades- will we have to burn more fossil fuel to stave off the re-glaciation of North America?

I noted that you forgot the SENIOR service of the Empire - the Royal Navy. Yes, I know, "rum sodomy and the lash," but thanks to limes, they were able to conquer and hold the world (VE Day being the end of it all).

I think, Anon, that the UK is important as some kind of bank. But what's an island, however rich, without a navy?

Sorry, LL, grievous error on my part. How many literal ships does the RN have presently? Asking for a friend.
