Go back in time, punters, back to the misty, trans dementia days of the Biden administration. Remember them? I do, though the memory's vague and indistinct; still, some things emerge out of the miasma, like the IRS hiring 87,000 agents to take your money.
Who would've thought, back then, that reversing 1913 and abolishing the IRS would be out there and on the table. Yet here we are, remarkable. In related news, a young Sergeant tells me, he's Signals, that a number of trannies have been given AAMs (Army Achievement Medal) and let go. Bye-bye.
Speaking of which, there seems to be an issue with non-combat arms. You'd expect, let the reader understand, that Expeditionary Signals would be combat trained and proficient, if only at a basic level. As opposed to being... something else.
You can bet your M4 that Russkie Signals in UKR know how to use a weapon. Maybe Hegseth will look into this issue.

I can see a flat tax of 10%, no exclusions... Personal and corporate. Re the retraining, yes. Make it like the Marines, EVERY Marine, regardless of job, is a trained rifleman.
Total agreement, NFO.
Problem with taxes is they never go away. They tried to abolish the tax on landline phones, put in to partially fund the Spanish-American War, back in the 1980s but that didn't get gone.
And if all the countries we trade with paid the same level of tariffs that we have to pay for their crap, well, our treasury would be overflowing. Well, until the Dems and the RINOS raided it again.
As to anyone in the military, from chair sitters to straight-up infiltration killers, all should be required to show half-year proficiencies with actual combat arms. Even medicos, because our enemies don't respect non-combantants. In fact, they should be encouraged to carry weapons at all times. Knives, brass knuckles, anti-tank rockets...
Then again, we should be able to carry whatever we want openly and without question, from knives and brass knuckles to... well, anti-tank rockets are not really carry-on luggage size...
Crusty Old TV Tech here. When an Air Force Communication Command "trained killer" in the dim, distant 1980's, us JO's pleaded with our higher-ups to just allow us to train with personal sidearms at the SP's range on base. Crickets for a year plus. FINALLY, just before getting PCS'ed to my next assignment, we got permission. Don't even get me started on Mother USAF issuing us comm weenies Combat Masterpieces (the standard sidearm of the USAF, basically). We weren't worthy, or so it appeared. I think we would have all been ecstatic at the prospect of being combat arms qualified.
Old NFO is correct. Back in the old draft era Army, everyone qualified with a rifle, male and female. Maintaining proficiency was another (sorry) story.
Well said, Monsignor Beans. I especially liked this: "And if all the countries we trade with paid the same level of tariffs that we have to pay for their crap, well, our treasury would be overflowing. Well, until the Dems and the RINOS raided it again."
Non combat arms needs to get a whole lot more combat, imo. I say that as a religious professional.
Dear Tech, to your point -- a friend served in the Air Force in the 60s in Viet Nam. He was a Sergeant, part of a unit tasked with defending an airfield. This got mortared and attacked with devastating accuracy during Tet. Guess what? None of them were issued weapons. They sat there and, obviously, couldn't return fire because they had nothing to shoot with.
My pal ran for it, somehow gained access to the armory, and engaged the enemy. He was badly wounded in the process. Still not over it, despite a successful career with Bell.
This in mind -- can you imagine Russian Signals in UKR being 1: Led by women. 2: Not trained in the use of their personal weapon. To say nothing of basic small unit tactics? I can't.
Our Armed Forces are well overdue for a wake up call, imo.
WSF, NFO's totally right.
Weird thing. I used to be a very decent shot when I was a kid, qualified marksman with the .303 Lee Enfield (Junior ROTC in the UK). Then, in the army, I wasn't so good. Huh. Regained proficiency in Texas. Gotta love shooting, too bad it's so pricey.
Maybe 47 will fix that.
Not a monsignor as that title actually means something to us old-school Catholics. Maybe a lay-brother.
Because of the use of Russian men as cannon fodder, Russia since the beginning of WWII had to use women in combat operations (just not usually on the front lines, usually.) Mortar and artillery crews (usually using 1.5 to 2 times the crew as a men-manned mortar or gun) and comm crews, some aviation units (The Night Witches being one of them) and other second line functions. All armed when arms were available.
We need to never ever have people in uniform who can't at least shoot to minimum qualifications. Mess specialist, staff assistant, paper pusher, whatever. If you are a member of Big Military Branch, you should have to know and have a firearm available to you at all times.
One of the issues we found in WWII was that a lot of state National Guard units were basically weekend party units and were woefully undertrained and underequipped and it took as much or more time to bring them up to snuff than it was to just stand up a brand-new unit from the ground up. The non-combat troops are at that point right now.
Everyone should be able to do a bare-minimum level of combat ops and do their regular job well.
1913 that would get rid of the federal reserve as well, FOR THE SECOND TIME.
