Tikka?

Round about the end of the year, with the thought of presents looming, my mind turns to rifles. One rifle in particular, the Tikka T3. It gets great reviews, it's comparatively cheap, everyone says, "LSP! Get a Tikka!." Then, just as I'm about to leap into the world of Tikka, up comes Churck Hawks' damning review. Here's a bit of it to refresh the memory:

"To add insult to injury, the Tikka T3 is a cheap rifle to produce, but not an inexpensive one to purchase. (Ditto the I-Bolt!) These things cost as much or more than some higher quality, better designed, and better turned-out hunting rifles. The T3's success is a tribute to the ignorance of the modern American sportsman--and the connivance of the sporting press upon which they rely for information."

Maybe I'd be better off browsing the 2nd hand racks...

Good shooting,

LSP

Really?
Chad has one in 6.5x55 and loves it, a chap from TBB's shoot has on in 7mm08 that is totally awesome.

One feature that is both a plus and a negative is they are based on one-size-fits-all action so plus: you can re-barrel it if you want/need to or negative: it needs a spacer block if its chambered in one of the shorter rounds.

Still if I were you living where you do, a sporterised smelly. 'go on, go on, go on' as mrs Doyle would say

I know -- they're pretty popular guns and a lot of people swear by them.

Mind you, I've always thought that CH's opinion carries weight... just food for thought.

Another smelly? Yes! Now you're talking and, er, within the budget.

Cheers

I think this is the funniest thing I've read today; I'm certain I've never thought of Christmas presents, pass wishing for an Easy-Bake-Oven -around ten

I'm starting to think your sermons may have a 'The 39 Steps'/wishlist delitescently written into your prose -I will listen with a perpend consideration

Any other priest, I would think you are giving a confiteor but I'm pretty sure your 2nd rate SAKO is on your 2013 list.

Yes please, 3rd News, a Tikka for Christmas. Fair's fair.

Sorry padre, but I believe in the Prince Charles 'keep 'em all happy' gift-giving strategy.

Your naff prince was notorious for opening a box of Yardley soaps, and distributing them evenly.

What's your favorite color? I'm guessing you're a 'Lily of the Valley' type ;-)

Good old Yardley! The great British toiletry industry, er, strikes again.
