Veterans Day

“Never give in - never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” - Winston Churchill

I'd say Churchill's words ring true today and, to all those who were and are prepared to sacrifice their lives for our common good, respect, honor and prayers.

Sir Winston is one of the great men of the 20th Century. His old-fashioned Victorian Era sensibilities make him look un-PC today, and to many of his contemporaries as well.

I love his quote, can't recall it exactly, about why the British bulldog's nose is turned up, so that it can continue to breathe as it clasps the leg of its foe...

I'd say he was - a remarkable man who seems to loom out of Victoriana into the 20th C.

I'd forgotten the bulldog bit!

Amen, Parson! This is a spectacular quote from Sir Winston. I'm going to link on my blog with a hat tip!
God Bless You! Happy Veterans Day.

We need men like Churchill now, in the age of characterless leaders.

For sure we do, SB.

I see that dumbing down has made its way across the pond.

It's honour!

Churchill was an Englishman.

My dear Fact Compiler,

You're absolutely right. Carry on.
