St. Patrick's Day

Hail St. Patrick, apostle of the heathen Irish, and that they were. You're familiar with his history, taken into captivity by Irish slavers raiding late Roman Britain, and how by the grace of God working on extraordinary asceticism he converted that pagan nation. We might pray for Patrick to clear out our present den of snakes, d'ye not think?

Almighty and everlasting God, who didst call thy servant Patrick to preach the Gospel: Raise up, we beseech thee, in this and every land evangelists and heralds of thy kingdom, that thy Church may proclaim the unsearchable riches of our Savior Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Patrick, holy saint, please clear out the den of vipers who belovedly rule over us. Please end this tyranny of snakes.

Yours,

LSP

St. Patrick's Day #2

I don't want all three readers of this so-called "blog" to think that it offers anything other than deep thought and the life of the mind.

That's why we're posting this neat Leprechaun video. Helpful, eh?

And then there's the Dropkick Murphys. Another kind of helpful.

Meet you in Southy,

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you, readers. And if you're not too busy shipping up to Boston with the Dropkick Murphys, spare some thought for the great Saint, who converted the Irish.

Or did he? Some say that was a difficult task; others, again, claim that the job wasn't finished. Whatever the case, mind how you go when you next visit Southie, and listen to some war tunes.

They seem appropriate today.

Cheers,

LSP
