You're Goin' Down

Jail for you, boyo

Wow. Douglass Mackey was sentenced to 7 months prison time yesterday by United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly. Why? Because he had the sheer, brazen, literal temerity to post a "meme" mocking Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Yes, that's exactly what he did and now he's suitably punished, with jail. Here's the so-called "meme," risible and racist as it is:

Kristina Wong didn't go to hideously ugly jail because she supported Hillary and was against evil Russian spy Nazi Donald Trump. That's why she posted her awesome meme with impunity. Here, have a look:

Someone once said, "This'd be a banana republic if it was a republic." In the meanwhile, we lurch towards rainbow corporate Armageddon in the hope our beloved rulers will become even richer than they already are.

Speaking of which, which blazer patch do you prefer, Lockheed, Martin or Raytheon?

Regardless, it was her turn,

Not Scared? Maybe You Should Be

Ferocious VWE (violent weather extremism) after SOTC (Stations of the Cross); beating wind, slashing rain and zero viz on the road, broken only by eerily incandescent illumination rounds of lightning. Scary? Yes, but maybe not as scary as the FBI infiltrating spies into Catholic churches.

Thanks to a leaked FBI Richmond Office memo, we know that America's secret and not so secret police are targeting RTCs (radical-traditionalist-Catholic) on suspicion of RMVE (racially motivated violent extremism), especially against Jews, Rainbow Riders, immigrants and the present commie Pope.

To counter this egregious threat, just imagine all those 1964 (sorry, 1962) Latin Missal waving terrorists, FBI Richmond recommended "exploration of new avenues for tripwire and source development." Behold corporate jargon stasi speak for we need to get some spies into those churches.

Sen. Josh Hawley summed it up at yesterday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, grilling our repellent Attorney General Merrick Garland:

“How many informants do you have in Catholic churches across America?”

“I don’t know, and I don’t believe we have any informants aimed at Catholic churches,” Garland responded. “We have a rule against investigations based on First Amendment activity, and Catholic churches are obviously First Amendment activity. I don’t know the specific answer.”

“You don’t know the specifics of anything, it seems,” Hawley said. “But apparently on your watch this Justice Department is targeting Catholics, targeting people of faith, specifically for their faith views. Mr. Attorney General, I’ll just say to you, it’s a disgrace.”

So how many informants does Garland have in American churches, you know, just in case those Christians get out of hand. He doesn't know, it could be a few, it could be a lot or maybe even none. So rest easy, there's no specific answer to how many Government spies there are in your church.

That in mind, you might want to be careful at coffee hour after worshiping God instead of Mammon or Moloch. One foolish RTC slip of the tongue betwixt donut and warming beverage and there it is, a SWAT team kicking down your door at 4 am.

Some of you may remember how we justly took pride in our freedom of religion, as opposed to the unfortunate people living under Soviet oppression. My, how that worm's turned.

The Power of Words

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Do you remember the old days, the days when we used to look at Russia with a kind of scornful wonder and say "they don't have freedom of religion, speech or press!" My, how that worm's turned here in America; post thoughtcrime on Facebook and get fired from your job, to say nothing of anything else. Still, words and the ideas behind them have creative power, whether for good or ill. Here's Dorothy Sayers:

This is the Power of the Word, and it is dangerous.  Every word—even every idle word—will be accounted for at the day of judgment, because the word itself has power to bring to judgment.  It is of the nature of the word to reveal itself and to incarnate itself—to assume material form.  Its judgment is therefore an intellectual, but also a material judgment.  The habit, very prevalent to-day, of dismissing words as “just words” takes no account of their power.  But once the Idea has entered into other minds, it will tend to reincarnate itself there with ever-increasing Energy and ever-increasing Power.  It may for some time only incarnate itself in more words, more books, more speeches; but the day comes when it incarnates itself in actions, and this is its day of judgment.  At the time when these words are being written, we are witnessing a fearful judgment of blood, (WWII) resulting from the incarnation in deeds of an Idea to which, when it was content with a verbal revelation, we paid singularly little heed.

Which Ideas are (morally) Good and which are anti-Good it is not the purpose of this book to discuss; what is now abundantly manifest is the Power.  Any Idea whose Energy manifests itself in a Pentecost of Power is good from its own point of view.  It shows itself to be a true act of creation, although, if it is an evil Idea, it will create to a large extent by active negation—that is to say, by destruction.  The fact, however, that “all activity is of God” means that no creative Idea can be wholly destructive: some creation will be produced together with the destruction; and it is the work of the creative mind to see that the destruction is redeemed by its creative elements.

It is the work of the creative mind to see that the destruction is redeemed by its creative elements.

Sayers, to my mind, wrote with remarkable and perhaps mystical depth and insight. You may disagree, and I'd defend your right to do so with all the guns and swords I tragically lost in last year's catastrophic boating accident. Regardless, let's rise to the challenge, and see that the destruction of the present time's redeemed.

I'd say it's badly needed. Open forum and here endeth the Lesson.
